Jessica:

Hello and welcome to the Ponder and Magnify podcast, where our mission is to seek an encounter with Jesus through praying the Rosary, relying on the grace of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of Mary. I am so happy that you are here. In this episode, we're going to be praying the Rosary while meditating on the glorious mysteries of the rosary. Before each decade, you'll be given something to imagine related to the mystery we're praying. However, if the Holy Spirit leads you somewhere different, follow that prompting instead. Before we start, let's pause and reflect on what we're bringing to prayer. What are your joys in this moment? What sorrows are you feeling right now? Do you have any fears in this moment? What are you desiring? Who do you wish to pray for? In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen, Jesus, we ask you to speak directly into our present circumstances. Mary, thank you so much for praying with us and for us now. Holy Spirit, anoint the gift of our imagination so that we might come to encounter Jesus more deeply through it. Amen. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, .He and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen, our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen For an increase in faith. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen For an increase in hope. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen For an increase in love. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy, amen.

Jessica:

The first glorious mystery is the resurrection, a reading from the Gospel of Mark. On entering the tomb, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James and Salome saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe, and they were utterly amazed. He said to them Do not be amazed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised. He is not here. Behold the place where they laid him. But go and tell his disciples and Peter he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, as he told you.

Jessica:

The angel tells the women to share the news: "He is going before you. There you will see him. Jesus goes before us in everything. In every future joy, he will be there celebrating. In every future trial. He will be there to meet and sustain us In our death. He will be there offering us passage to eternal life. What, then, do we ever have to fear? He goes before us in all things, ready to meet us. Nothing is final until it is redeemed through Christ.

Jessica:

As we pray this decade, imagine yourself in the garden at the resurrection site with Jesus In the face of an uncertain future, hear him speak to you of the certainty that he will be there at every moment, ready to receive you. You can count on this. Remain in his presence and imagine the feeling of all fear of the future melting from you. For this decade, try to abide in the peace that he longs for you to claim.

Jessica:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Jessica:

Thy kingdom come.

Jessica:

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Jessica:

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Jessica:

Amen, hail Mary full of grace.

Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.

Jessica:

The second glorious mystery is the ascension, a reading from the book of Acts. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up and a cloud took him from their sight Just before his ascension. Jesus presents the apostles with a mission to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth, starting in Jerusalem. Yet Jesus does not send them forth to get right to work, but to prepare their hearts to receive first. Jesus promises the Holy Spirit will provide all that is needed at the exact time it is needed, not a moment too early or too late. The apostles have nothing to fear. There is no pressure to perform for God or to lead the charge into the unknown. All will work out if they just focus their energy on receiving the Holy Spirit's direction and grace.

Jessica:

As we pray this decade, imagine taking your heart in your hands and opening it up to receive from the Holy Spirit. Allow yourself to sit there in the waiting with complete trust that it will be filled at the perfect moment with clarity of direction and grace to move forward. See Mary encouraging you in your waiting to keep your heart open. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen, hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen, hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen, hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen, glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy, amen.

Jessica:

The third glorious mystery is the Pentecost, a reading from the book of Acts. When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together, and suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. With the exception of Jesus' mother, those gathered together at the time of the Pentecost each had moments where they had failed Jesus. They each had a unique set of weaknesses. They all knew the experience of temptation and sometimes acted on it. They likely had different ideas of what things should look like, and they experienced challenges in their relationships with one another, and yet none of this prevented any one of them from receiving the Holy Spirit, because they each had a desire to know the Lord's will and participate in it.

Jessica:

Let us take courage, then, in the fact that our weaknesses do not disqualify us from receiving the Holy Spirit when we have a sincere desire to know the Lord's will and participate in it. As we pray this decade, imagine the Father looking at you, focusing entirely on your desire to know him, unfazed by your weaknesses. See in the expression on his face how his paternal heart is deeply moved by your desire to know him. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Jessica:

Amen Hail Mary, full of grace.

Jessica:

The Lord is with thee.

Jessica:

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Jessica:

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Jessica:

Amen, hail Mary, full of grace.

Jessica:

The Lord is with thee.

Jessica:

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Jessica:

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Jessica:

Amen,

Jessica:

Hail Mary, full of grace.

Jessica:

The Lord is with thee.

Jessica:

Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy, amen. The fourth glorious mystery is the assumption of Mary into heaven, a reading from the Gospel of John. Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God. Have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be. Mary had attended to Jesus in every single suffering of his life, from his infancy to his crucifixion, praying for him for the strength to persevere through it all. She took on every suffering of his as her own, as she accompanied him in it. In her love, she had longed so desperately for Jesus to be free of his suffering so he could be relieved of his pain. In the moment of the Assumption, imagine Mary encountering Jesus with wounds on his hands, feet and side from his crucifixion. Mary goes to kiss these wounds and Jesus just smiles and assures her: Mom they don't hurt anymore. The great hope for Jesus that Mary had held over the course of her life was realized. There Jesus was before her, free from all earthly suffering and pain. As you pray, bring to mind someone who you long to be free of suffering and pain. Imagine meeting this person in heaven, free from all of their earthly suffering. See Mary and Jesus delight in witnessing your meeting. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. Amen, hail Mary, full of grace. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen, hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen. The fifth glorious mystery. Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth. A reading from the Gospel of John. Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary, the wife of Clopas and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom He loved, He said to his mother: Woman, behold your son. Then he said to the disciple: Behold, your mother. And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. After Jesus' relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit, Jesus' relationship with Mary was most precious to him. Her body was a literal home for him. She kept him alive when he was a weak and vulnerable infant. She taught him, nurtured him, cared for him, comforted him, prayed with him, and directed him toward the Father's will as he grew up. She made sure Jesus was fed, clothed, and had what he needed. In Jesus' public ministry, Mary was constantly interceding for Jesus that the Father's will might be done through him. She accompanied him to the end in his passion, offering consolation and encouragement with her presence. Mary gave Jesus the best of what she had to offer at every moment. How precious Mary is to Jesus. And yet Jesus doesn't keep Mary just to himself. Instead, he wishes for all of us to have a share in the gift that was given to him and his mother. As we pray this decade, imagine a moment where Mary is mothering Jesus, either as an infant, a young boy, a teenager or an adult. Then imagine yourself in the scene with Mary. See her turning to mother you in the same way that she mothered Jesus. See Jesus delight in you receiving the same treatment as him, hoping it will mean as much to you as it did to him. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen, glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen Hail Holy Queen, mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor, banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious, advocate thine eyes of mercy toward us and, after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, o loving, o sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, o Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen, o God, whose only begotten Son, by his life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life. Grant we beseech thee that, by meditating upon these mysteries of the most holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Thank you, god, for the gift of the rosary, the gift of this time praying together, please, please, count on our continued prayers and we ask you to be praying for us. Praise be to God.
