Jessica:

Hello and welcome to the Ponder and Magnify podcast, where our mission is to seek an encounter with Jesus through praying the Rosary, relying on the grace of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of Mary. I am so happy that you are here. In this episode, We're going to be praying the rosary while meditating on the luminous mysteries of the rosary. Before each decade, you'll be given something to imagine related to the mystery that we're praying. However, if the Holy Spirit leads you somewhere different as you're praying, follow that prompting instead. Before we start, let's pause and reflect on what we're bringing to prayer. What are your joys in this moment? What sorrows are you feeling right now? Do you have any fears in this moment? What are you desiring? Whom do you wish to pray for? In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen, Jesus, we ask you to speak directly into our present circumstances. Mary, thank you for praying with us and for us now. Holy Spirit, anoint the gift of our imagination so that we might come to encounter Jesus more deeply through it. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son. Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there, he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen, our Father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen For an increase in faith. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen For an increase in hope. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen For an increase in love. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.

Jessica:

The first luminous mystery is the baptism of Jesus, a reading from the Gospel of Matthew. After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the ehavens were opened for him and he saw the Spirti of God descending like ad ove and coming upon him. And a voice came from the heavens saying, " God's words for Jesus at his baptism are his words to us. This is my beloved child, with whom I am well pleased.

Jessica:

By our baptism we claim our belonging to the Father and thus bring such delight to his heart. We live out our baptism by remaining childlike before him, ready to listen to him, depend on him and trust in his providence. In family life as God intended. A young child has their day laid out by their parents, who plan the day with the child's best interests in mind. How freely the young child moves about their day without worry or concern, oftentimes without even knowing the plan. The child is able to live in this freedom and joy because they experience deep trust and security in their parents' love. They await the unfolding of their day not with fear, but with excited anticipation. As we pray this decade. Imagine yourself offering whatever part of your day that remains completely over to the Father, allowing him room to interrupt or change your plans. Feel your fear dissipate, knowing that, whatever happens, the Father promises to love and provide for you and those you love, with your eternal joy as his goal.

Jessica:

Rest in the promise of your Baptism. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen, hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen, glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy, amen.

Jessica:

The second luminous mystery is the wedding feast at Cana, a reading from the Gospel of John. On the third day there was a wedding in Cana, in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him they have no wine. Mary's concern at the wedding feast was that the celebration of the couple's marriage would end prematurely due to a lack of provision. Mary wanted to free those hosting the feast from embarrassment, humiliation and or shame. Mary and Jesus know how experiences tied to these things can lead to deep woundedness and Jesus, turning water into wine, set the hosts free from experiencing this pain.

Jessica:

Before his death, Jesus provides wine again at the Last Supper, saying Drink from it all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.

Jessica:

With this, the miracle at the wedding feast at Cana is extended to us.

Jessica:

In receiving his blood under the appearance of wine, we are freed from embarrassment, humiliation and shame tied to our own personal sin or sin committed unto us.

Jessica:

By his provision, Jesus wishes to restore us and set us free.

Jessica:

As we pray this decade, imagine Jesus extending his blood, under the appearance of a cup of wine, out to you, desperate for you to drink it.

Jessica:

As you consume it, feel it, enter into those places of pain within you and offer warmth and love and healing there. Hear Jesus's promise. Nothing is lost. I will restore you completely. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Jessica:

Amen, hail Mary, full of grace.

Jessica:

The Lord is with thee.

Jessica:

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Jessica:

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Jessica:

Amen, hail Mary, full of grace.

Jessica:

Forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy, amen.

Jessica:

The third luminous mystery is the proclamation of the kingdom, a reading from the Gospel of Matthew. Jesus went around to all the towns and villages teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them, because they were troubled and abandoned like sheep without a shepherd. In this passage, we learn the truth of how God looks at us. It is not with a list of what we have done wrong, ready to punish us. Rather, he looks directly into our hearts and sees how we are pained, troubled and abandoned and his heart is moved with pity for us, which is to say that he feels great suffering at our suffering. This suffering as a result of our suffering is why Jesus willingly entered into his passion. He had to do something to relieve us, it didn't matter what the cost.

Jessica:

As we pray this decade, imagine Jesus before you, looking at you, seeing directly into your heart, in all those places of your heart that you try to convince yourself that you are fine or convince those around you that you have it all together. Jesus sees the truth. See his desperation to shepherd you to complete healing in these places. Amen.

Jessica:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Jessica:

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Jessica:

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Jessica:

Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Amen. Hail Mary. Full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen, glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.

Jessica:

The fourth luminous mystery is the transfiguration of Jesus, a reading from the Gospel of Luke. He took Peter, john and James and went up to the mountain to While he was praying, his face chagned in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white. When we go to prayer, we are met by a God who knows more about us than we know about ourselves. As we make efforts to know him, he helps us to see the depths of our own heart. In conversation with him, we stand to understand the root of our pain, to identify our desires and to learn the unique way which we are meant to live as his image in the world. When Peter, James and John behold the transfigured Jesus in their prayer, God is giving them and us a glimpse into what he intends for us. In our unique contexts and roles, our highest calling from God is to radiate his light and love. This is accomplished not in trying to be more kind or more loving, but by continually going to God to receive his love until we are so satisfied that it begins to naturally pour out of us. As we pray this decade, imagine sitting with Jesus on top of a mountain, just like Peter, john and James were

Jessica:

the day of the Transfiguration. Allow Jesus to tell you how much he loves you. Do not try to convince him of your unworthiness or protest his love in any other way. Just receive from him and allow it to both amaze you and heal you. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Jessica:

Hail Mary full of grace. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen, glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen, o, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy, amen.

Jessica:

The fifth luminous mystery is the institution of the Eucharist, a reading from the Gospel of Matthew. Jesus said Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for yourselves, for my yoke is easy and my burden light. In the Eucharist, Jesus extends his meek, humble heart to us under the veil of bread and wine, desiring to give us true rest for our soul. He sees our labor, our burden, our pain. He sees the choices we make as a desperate attempt to make rest and relief for ourselves, perpetuating our labor, our burden and our pain. Jesus experiences a misery of heart over our state known as mercy, and is consumed with a desire to relieve us In the Eucharist, He extends his heart to us, offering us the love and security we are desperate for. As we pray

Jessica:

Imagine walking up to receive the Eucharist at Mass.

Jessica:

When you reach your turn

Jessica:

See Jesus himself before you holding out his sacred heart to you, which is on fire with love for you.

Jessica:

See his love for you in his eyes as he desires for you to take it from him.

To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious, advocate thine eyes of mercy toward us and, after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, o Clement, o Loving, o Sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, o Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ, o God, whose only begotten Son, by his life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life. Grant we beseech thee that, while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ, our Lord.
