So today I am going to lean into a little bit, a topic that I'm talking about a lot at the minute, but also that I'm being asked about a lot, and that is why the relationship between the home and the people who live in the home is so

Three Luck And Home Energy

important. So I have been talking a lot recently about the importance of the three luck. So we have heaven luck, man luck, and earth luck. Heaven luck is the what you are born with, what you are given gifted upon birth, things that are very, very difficult, if not impossible, for you to change. We have man luck, which is how you go through the world, how you show up as an individual in this life? Are you somebody who engages in negative things like gossip? Are you somebody who is a glass half-empty person rather than a glass half full person? Are you somebody who is genuinely grateful? Are you somebody who is, you know, a cheerleader for other people? All those kinds of things. So how you show up in this world and your general kind of energy and attitude, and then we have the earth luck, which is our environment, and therein lies the feng shui of our homes. So what can we change with our environment in terms of or to be able to improve the energy that we surround ourselves with and how we can then use those three lucks to make the best version of our lives that we can? Now, when I talk about making the best version of your life, this is not another one. I am just not one of those people that says, you know, that you have to be going on X number of very expensive holidays a year, and all of these, you know, all of these kind of big dreams and big goals that we are told that we should want from life. I'm not that person. And actually, my own personal goal in life is simplicity, and that's all I want. I want a simple life where things flow and there is ease. I want a simpler, more abundant, more joyful version of the life that I already live. That's that's as simple as that, and that is what I aim to get for my clients as well. You know, I'm not the person to come to if fame's, riches, and private jets are what float your boat. So, you know, I think when I talk about combining those three looks to live the the best version of your life that you can, there's nothing wrong if you want those things. But what I'm saying is my message is that it doesn't have to be these, you know, wild, amazing accomplishments if that's not what you want. You know, I certainly follow some people on social media who, you know, they're incredible, they live amazing lives, but all I think when I see their content is, yeah, but you know, what you're telling me that you have achieved, you have achieved not through the thing that you're telling me you've achieved it through. And I just don't want to be that, you know, that's just not my that's just not my bag. So I think, yeah, when I talk about combining the three lux to live your best version of your life, it is a very realistic, you know, a simplicity, an ease, and a flow in the life that you already

A Real Story Of Hitting Bottom

live. Now, if I think back to 10 years ago, nearly 11 years ago now, after I had my second baby who was very poorly when he was born, and I think about the depression that I fell into, which was very extreme and you know, a very dark, dark place for all of us, for everybody involved. And I remember trying to dig myself out of that, the point where I became aware that it was a real problem, and I was trying to dig myself out of this situation, and by the time that I'd kind of received some help for that from the GP, I was just about to be going back to work, but I knew that I wasn't gonna be able to stay employed because I couldn't leave him for prolonged periods of time, so it was just very complex, and I realized very quickly that we were in quite a desperate situation because we weren't gonna have the money that we were. I bought in quite a lot of money at that point when I was in my corporate role, and we weren't gonna have that, and my mental health was on the floor, and everything, everything just felt very hard and very dark, and I couldn't see how I was gonna get myself out of it, and you know, I am talking a span of many, many, many years whereby the layering of I can't, I can't get myself out of this, is I don't know, I just don't know how. And I don't I don't know what it was, I don't know how I ended up getting into you know this kind of world of manifestation and things like that. The man the world of manifestation and crystals came way way before me stumbling across Feng Shui actually. So but it was when I was listening to whether it be the podcasts or reading the books or you know, following these people on social media, I was absorbing all of this messaging, knowing that I needed that I was the problem, knowing that what that at least I was part of the problem, knowing that the way that I was perceiving the life that was happening around me and that I was part of was causing more of the same and more of the same problem. And I read, I mean, I think I I read all the books, you know. I read all the books about shifting your mindset and looking for the positives and gratitude and all of those kind of things, looking for somebody to tell me how to believe it all because it's all very well and good, isn't it? Having somebody say, you know, you can manifest what it is that you want in life by dreaming about it. And I loved that concept, I loved that concept, and I bought into that because one, I was desperate, two, I was very time poor because I had at that point two very young children, two children under the age of one and a half. You know, it was bonkers when I had my second baby, and so I had two babies and I had zero time, and I knew I was in a desperate situation, and I wanted somebody to tell me how to fix it. I needed to know how to fix it, and so I bought into this concept of if I just dream about the thing that I want to be different, then it will change, and it became really, really obvious. I I mean, years, years and years and years I consumed this kind of this messaging, and it became very obvious that no one could really tell me how, and even in very recent years, I you know, there's things that I've learned and read and all of these kind of things, and I think that is a great, that's a great concept, and I love it, but you haven't told me how. And this for me is where environment and ourselves are so interlinked because I personally believe that you cannot improve one without improving the

Why Quick Fixes Do Not Last

other. You have to work on one and work on the other simultaneously, and we've got to leave behind this instant fix mentality because if we want anything in our lives to stick, and this isn't just about mindset, this isn't just about our homes, this isn't just about feng shui, but if you are genuinely looking to change something about yourself or the way that you move through the world, you know, the thing that is gonna be be the fastest option is unlikely to think be the thing that you can sustain. So if we think about, you know, I there's easy ones to relate this to, but if you think about diet and fitness, for example, if you went and saw a personal trainer and you said, I want to do whatever it is to my physique by the time I go on holiday in two months' time, they might say, Okay, well, this is what you need to do, these are the calories that you need to eat, you know, and this is these are the workouts that you need to do four, five, six times a week, whatever, intense, and and it would work, right? So you would you would probably achieve what it is that you wanted to achieve, but would you realistically be able to sustain that level of whether it be effort or deprivation or whatever it is long term to be able to maintain those results? Probably not, and that is what I think we are kind of missing in this sort of energetic world is that even now, even now, I am listening to the most amazing book by the most incredible author, but the the focus is on daily quiet focused meditation, and I'm listening to it as somebody, you know, I live a very privileged existence. I work for myself and I work from home, and my my home functions and it all works really well. But there's just no way, there's just no way. I get up at 5am every day to do my own kind of my well, you see it if you follow me on Instagram, you see that I'm up early and I'm doing my gratitude every single day. But I'm also up at 5am because I've got dishwashers to empty and laundry to turn round and school uniforms to get ready for the day and you know the normal life to live. And even somebody like me who is is an early riser and I'm capable of getting up at 5am and I quite enjoy it, but that's not you know, that's quite rare. It doesn't, there's not that many people who are chipper to get out of bed at 5am. And even I think I love the I love what you're I love what this book is telling me, and I love the message. I don't regret listening to it at all because it's amazing. But I am left every single time I listen to it thinking that's not realistic or achievable for many, many people. And if what we're saying is that in order to manifest the life that we want to live, we have to be able to dedicate 30, 45 an hour, whatever minutes of time per day to focused and silent meditation. That what happens to the rest of us? Where's where's the message for the people who think, no, I need to do this alongside life? I cannot press pause for an hour a day, it is not set up like that, I don't have that luxury. How do I get to where I want to get to in life without that time? And this for me is where maybe this, maybe this will be my, you know, where I go move forward and move into this space in a different way, is maybe I need to fill that gap because for me it is the two things working together on a very, very small but consistent basis every

Bagua Map And The Nine Areas

single day. It's the everyday Feng Shui. So for me, step one is understanding the layout of your home, understanding how the bagwa map fits over your home so that you can understand which areas of your home are home to these energetic gateways, if that's what you want to call them. So within the nine areas of our home, we have got areas that look after our wealth, areas that look after our career, areas that look after our family and our relationships and all those sorts of things. So understanding where in your home is looking after certain areas of your life, I believe is a really good starting point. Because then once you've understood the nine life areas, you can go ahead and grade them if that's what you want to do, depending on whether you're a very practical or you know formulated person, you can go and look at those nine areas and go, right, okay, if we're going to be pragmatic and logical about this, which area of my life is having the biggest impact on how I'm showing up at the moment? What is the thing that I need change in more than anything else right now? And at that point, it gives you focus. And I think sometimes when we are so overwhelmed by feeling that something needs to change, but not knowing what it is, and you know, you can almost feel like you're just going round and round in almost like a tornado, in that you just don't know where to focus or what to do. So for me, the nine areas is where it starts. We then look at those, find out where the biggest problem is, and then we visit that area of our home. You know, in a very practical sense, we find out what is going on in that area. And obviously, there are we we go back to the onion layers, there are many, many layers that you can look at it in, but on the surface level, what's happening in that space? What exists there? Is it a mirror of what is happening in my life? And and which is mirroring which, you know, is it that your life is mirroring what's going on in the home, or is it that your home is mirroring what's going on in your life? And that's where we start to make these tiny, tiny tweaks. And when we are talking about people, we are talking about emotions, we are talking about so many layered things, and therefore starting with your home is actually really easy. So if I was to think I need to change something about my, I don't know, let's say that I was desperate to change something about my visibility area, for example, so my fame recognition area, what I'm known for, what I stand for, all of those kind of things, which is the south area of your home. Now, if I was desperate to make changes in those areas and then visited that area of my home, I would, if I could look through the lens of, okay, it's very difficult for me to then think, how can I change myself? Because I've got so many different layers as a human, that's your human experience. But if I look at my home, what changes can I make in that area of my home to make it more representative of the version of life that I would like to live? And therefore, I'm changing the mirror. So I'm changing what is going to be reflected, and that is when things start to align. And those tiny, tiny shifts that you start to make in those areas of your home will have a subconscious impact on your own mental kind of capacity because things will be improving in your surroundings. So that earth luck is improving. And if we think about those three luck as being, you know, 33.33%, it's not actually divided like that, but it's a very easy way of visualizing it. So if you think of the whole and you divide it into three, now if you can, you can't do much necessarily about your heaven luck. So let's just for now let's kind of disregard that. But if we look at the other two segments, so your earth luck and your man luck, if you could make changes in those two areas, you're looking at a 60% of what your, you know, your life's made up of. And for me, that's worth it. That's worth having an awareness. So, yeah, starting with the nine areas of your home, working out where they sit exactly within your home so you can see which areas, which kind of energetic gateways are representing which area of your life, and then you can make tiny, tiny changes. And when I say tiny, tiny changes, I mean literally tiny, because once you take your home, if you take your floor plan of your home, unless you live in a mansion, which you might do, you know, you might you might have a very, very large house. But I would say my guess would be that most of the people who find me and resonate with me and listen to me live in relatively normal homes. And if you think about dividing that floor plan of your home into nine, the area that we're talking about is probably not that large. So then within that area, the changes that we're making, I'm talking like a drawer at a time, a shelf at a time, those kind of tweaks, and this is what I talk about in terms of playing the long game and looking at it as a complete change in the way that you're kind of gonna try and go through life. Thinking that you can pick up something like Feng Shui, click your fingers, and change the way that everything is in your life, you know, it like I'm not gonna lie, it does happen. There are incredible things that come from shifting energy. But I personally, again, they tend to be short changes, they're not necessarily sustained. The sustainability of those changes comes from like the consistency and the the true shift in like that deep energy level. So when you found those areas of your home and you're thinking, okay, well, what what things in this area can I improve in my environment, in my home, what can I improve here? And the very surface level of the onion, you know, and then you can start thinking about intentions.

Intentions That Feel Truly Possible

Now, this is where this is the bit that I just, you know, love, I love, I love, I love, I love. And if I could do a whole kind of workshop on intentions, maybe I will, maybe I'll do that one day, then I would do because again, we are told the message that we receive about intentions is to have the kind of I am mentality. I am this, I am that, and to kind of go into it as a inner belief that it's already happened. And absolutely, that is the way that intentions work, having a belief that something's already happened. But I think that there are more layers, you know. There are people who say you should set your intentions for the biggest, bravest, boldest thing that you can imagine. And I disagree with that personally. I think we should always be setting our intentions because remember that we can change those intentions. They're allowed to grow, they're allowed to change. And I believe that we should be setting our intentions all the time for something that is just out of reach, something that feels like it's not completely out there, something that feels like it could be possible, but it's just a little bit out of reach at the moment. And with those intentions, we have to be able to completely embody what it would feel like to have achieved it already. And that's why I talk about making sure that these are intentions that are only just beyond what you think you could reach now. So just that that that tiny stretch, that tiny stretch, because if you cannot feel in your body what it would feel like, if you can't embody that feeling, then the power of that intention is going to be nowhere near as if, you know, an intention where you can you can really see it and not just see it, but really, really, really feel it. And this is where the power is, is leaning into that feeling, and then the next step after that is creating a version of the life that you live currently where you can already feel like that.

Chasing Feelings Not Things

So step one is finding the nine areas, step two is making the changes in the physical environment that you can see that relating to the areas of your life that you want to change. Step three is then thinking about the intentions, and step four is then finding a way of creating the embodiment of what it feels like to have already achieved the thing within the life that you already live. And this is where we kind of go full circle because it was only a few weeks ago that I was talking about what is it that you're really chasing, and you know, you might think I really want a Land Rover, and or whatever it is, I mean, I don't know. You might, you know, you think you want the thing, but actually you don't want the thing. None of us want the thing. You want the thing, you want the feeling that the thing is going to provide you with, whether that be a boost in confidence, whether that be feeling worthwhile, all of those kind of things. And that's where we kind of go all the way back around to what I was talking about just a few weeks ago. Because that's where the home and the self work together. So if you are going to work on your physical environment, because it's easier, it's easier. It's easier to make changes in your home in a physical environment than it is to yourself as a human. You know, we are very, very, very layered. And there's an awful lot that we have to think about. If we just were to focus solely on raising our own vibe, then you know, that there's a lot of guilt with that. Because if I was to think, as it's say, I've got three children, I run a business, I've got a home, you know, life is chaotic. And if I think if all I ever focused on was maintaining a high vibe and being positively perky all the time, I would very quickly come unstuck because that's not real life. It's not real life to think that somebody can can just float through, especially if you've got young people and young children at home. And then I think you can very quickly become so fixated on trying to maintain this, you know, this positive personal energy all the time, that when that changes and that, you know, when when life throws you a curveball and you're notched for six, or you know, something happens and you feel really stressed or heavy or whatever, you then start to panic because you think, well, I'm now going to be repelling all of the things I want to manifest into my life because I'm not managing to maintain that level of energy. And, you know, it's not sustainable.

Two Pillars For Real Stability

So it's not sustainable to have a perfect home, and it's not sustainable to be a perfect person. So when you put the two things together, that's when it becomes really powerful because the two things support each other. It's like having two pillars to hold up, you know, a bridge rather than just one. It the bridge is really wobbly if you've just got one. There's no stability there. Whereas if you put two pillars in there, the person and the home, everything just becomes a bit more stable.

So we don't want to be coming off and going at high speed in the wrong direction because that is what's happening. Just think about, you know, if you've been diverted by or your degree course has been changed by a couple of degrees, with the speed that this year is working, you're going to end up at a completely different destination. So get clear again on what it is that you're looking to achieve by the end of the year, and make sure that you're staying really focused on that. And everything that you're kind of the way that you're moving through your day and your life is aimed towards achieving that goal, not in a hustle way, not in a serious way, but just that you're not allowing yourself to be pulled off in different directions towards things that might not be important to you. As of, I'm not sure it'll be next week, but maybe the week after, I'm gonna start a brand new, we're gonna try out a new thing, whereby I'm going to one podcast a month is gonna be all about the monthly energies that are coming through, like a little bit of a feng shui forecast. Maybe that's what I'll call it the feng shui forecast. I'm not sure. So I'm gonna start doing that both on here. My Instagram will have it as well, but it will obviously be an Instagram-friendly one, because it'll be a little bit less in-depth with the lovely limit of 90 seconds.
