La (00:06)
Hello, it's a new week, which means a new episode of Lather Up With La.

Chanelle  (00:11)
and Chanelle

La (00:13)
Hey, so we got a little bit of news to tell you the NAACP Awards happened over the weekend and unfortunately our Beyond the Gates did not win anything, but they still should hold their head up high because they were up for outstanding I think it was daytime drama and ⁓ okay, and

Chanelle  (00:36)
Just drama series, yeah.

La (00:38)
that's a big deal for a debut show. They did lose to Reasonable Doubt, which I highly recommend watching because that's a good show. So they were in, good company, but this is year one. So we'll just wait till next year for them to win.

Chanelle  (00:54)
And I'm just excited because I also saw a lot of the cast members at the NAACP awards and they were gorgeous, handsome, all of the brown things. I'm so proud of Beyond the Gates.

La (00:59)
Looking good. Looking good. ⁓

such black excellence. And actually two of our stars from the show are gonna be on the Drew Barrymore show this week.

Chanelle  (01:16)
Yes. And whether you love them or just love to hate them, Trisha Mann Grant and Ambyr Michelle, Leslie and Eva are going to daytime on a real show at the actresses. Love it. Then it's probably just going to be something recorded with Sunny Anderson. But again, I like to see them forward and mainstream media getting their flowers. Because again, Beyond the Gates is celebrating more than a year, season two, we're cooking with

La (01:30)
Yes.

Chanelle  (01:46)
grease

La (01:47)
Happy anniversary. And we actually had another star in the DMV this past week.

Chanelle  (01:55)
Yes, Malachi Malik. AKA Elon Hawthorne. He was on the Marissa Mitchell Show, which is a new daytime talk show in our area. And he got real with us. He's from the DC area. has DC ties. We told you before. And when it comes to his career, he was an actual Metropolitan Police officer who left and went back to the biz, but he was actually an actor.

before he became a police officer, so this is like full circle for him. So we will eventually talk to him.

La (02:26)
And he dropped a little nugget.

He dropped a little nugget that we will finally see his wife.

Chanelle  (02:32)
In season two, ⁓ yeah, look, and we asked about Luke, they asked about some other things. That was one of my questions and I was just so glad he actually answered it. Whether he was not, doesn't matter, I'm here for it.

La (02:46)
So we're finally gonna see Jacob and Izaiah moms. I think it's in April, maybe, March or April, but it's coming soon. So looking forward to finally seeing their mama.

Chanelle  (02:58)
Look, that's true.

And there's other brother, Luke. The Hawthorne men are fine.

La (03:03)
Yes, stop talking about them. Stop talking

about them. I need to see these people. And just an update for our GH fans. Apparently the severe weather from last month was so bad that the regular actor, Daniel Cosgrove, who plays Ezra on General Hospital, was not able to get to LA because he lives on the East Coast to film his scenes.

Chanelle  (03:09)
Hehehehe

La (03:31)
So as of March ⁓ 2nd, and March 16th, we're going to see a person filling in for that actor, Patrick Scott Lewis. He will be playing Ezra Boyle temporarily until the actor Daniel Cosgrove gets himself together and can get back on the West Coast.

Chanelle  (03:55)
Who knew Port Charles snowstorm was really an impactful from being in New York?

La (03:58)
It was.

Yes. And also one other GH shout out. Happy birthday to Maurice Bernard, Sonny Corinthos. He is 63 this Sunday today and we love dimples. So we just want to tell him happy birthday. You criminal. Love you Sonny.

Chanelle  (04:20)
I still love me some Sonny. Tell me your, ⁓

the food, the feelings, the fashion. I'm here for that man.

La (04:28)
He might kill you, but he'll feed you first.

Chanelle  (04:31)
I love it.

La (04:34)
All right, let's start off with Port Charles. This week, General Hospital was bringing it. We have the fight for a seat in Congress. Everybody wants a seat, but Sidwell, this man is a super criminal. He got his hands in everything that's dirty. So we learned this past week that the reason why Willow was able to take down Drew Cain her husband.

with the drug she used to have him trapped in his own body, making it look like it's a stroke, is because Sidwell provided the drugage. And the idea, she apparently went to him asking for help and Sidwell came up with this whole scheme and she went with it. So his motive is to get somebody he believes he can better manipulate on Capitol Hill.

Drew was giving him pushback, Drew was just a pain in the butt, and he feels like he can do more things with Willow in that congressional seat. So he helped her take Drew down, but he's not done there. He has Brit under his thumb because he has the medication that she needs for her Huntington's disease to be maintained and not take her down. He has Laura under his thumb because he...

has her thinking that he will turn her in at any moment for the death of Professor Dalton. So she had originally tried to get Alexis to take the seat and Alexis was, reluctant at first, but then she was like, I would love to help my constituents in Port Charles, And lo and behold, when the press conference happened, Ezra came to Laura and was like, you better do what Sidwell says. And Sidwell says Willow is to take that seat because she is the spouse.

of the current holder. And Laura buckled announced that Willow was taking it and Alexis was blindsided. But it's not like Laura can tell her, ⁓ I'm accused of murder, so I have to do what I'm told or else I could be exposed, me and Sonny And of course you have Lucas. Lucas trying to snoop around and find the drug that he can try to duplicate to help Brit

but he knows everything because Marco is so in love and told him everything pretty much that's going on. And Sidwell and Pascal know that Lucas knows more than he should, but Sidwell even said, I would hate to have to go to his funeral.

Chanelle  (07:12)
Nothing new about it. mean, Lucas, we said, sanctimonious even before the truth finally came out. And now he is just moving blindly because it's like, sir, no self preservation when it comes to spilling the secrets. The fact that he even went to Brit. Initially, she was trying to deny it left and right. He's like, no, Marco told me. And she was like, ⁓ so he has given you a death wish. Like this is what you're doing.

And the fact that not only did he go to Brit, he went to Ava. And then with Ava, he was like, I just want to make sure that you are aware that Sidwell's so dangerous and I feel responsible because I brought you out there. And I'm like, I'm sorry, did you just tell the former head of the Jerome crime family that she's in danger because Sidwell's up to a few bad things?

La (07:45)
Yes.

Chanelle  (08:07)
this is not something that Ava of all people couldn't handle if she didn't want to. So it's one of those things where she takes it as a grain of salt, but she now also has to figure out how are you going to move? Because now you have Lucas on this big like Sidwell bad Marco's being trapped. I need to finish this up so everyone can live happily ever after thing. And it's like, you just have no

Idea what you're doing and it scares me because I feel like someone's gonna get hurt most likely him Unless his sister of all people can come through and maybe have something to take Sidwell down Because you have all these people in the back end working to try to take down Sidwell, but they're not working together

La (08:56)
They are not and Carly luckily has Valentin to guide her. So maybe she and him can come up with a plan. And don't forget, Sidwell also almost killed Maxie. And even though she's up and around again, and she chose Spinelli over Nathan, which is great, but she has decided that she wants to get right back to work. And in doing so, she realizes that her episode

was on live television when they were on Helping Hearts or whatever that informational place was. And it went viral, which made their profit shares go down. And the only thing that saved them was that Tracy, Brook Lynn Maxie's mom, Felicia, all signed up with Sidwell. So he saved the company, but Maxie's like, I'm alive and well now, so we don't need him.

And all I'm thinking is, you almost died because of him. Can you just focus on your family and just getting your barons? Because if you tick him off again, he might really do the job this time.

Chanelle  (10:05)
That's true. I mean, and she definitely has someone in her corner because Tracy has already approached Sidwell and was like, I want to see the books. She was like every number, every I dotted and T crossed. I want to see it. I want to know we don't need your services any longer. Thank you for your help, but we're moving on. And with Tracy doing that, you know, she gets the job done, but he also has someone else when it comes to Lucy.

in the corner trying to take him down because he spurned her love. So now you have a woman scorned trying to take you down as well because she was like, if I can't have him, basically no one else can. And she reached out as we know to Sonny, but Sonny was like, this feels like a lover's quarrel at best until you figure out what you're trying to do. Maybe you need to do it on your own and by George, I think she's got it because she's going to try anything she can to get him.

to, I guess, fall on the sword or at least destroy him.

La (11:09)
Yeah, speaking of Sonny, he kind of got himself in a sticky situation because ADA Turner learned from Rick when they were questioning Michael about them keys that Chase is most likely the reason. I mean, he planted the seed of did y'all check his, you know, Michael's keys again? I don't remember seeing that in the report. Maybe there's a key to Drew's house. And of course there was. But,

ADA Turner is like, I cannot have any more mistakes. And she goes and she complains to Sonny and one thing leads to another and he lays one of his, you know, diabolical kisses on her and she was into it. But then she sobered up and slapped him.

So he goes home, calls Rick. Rick is like, what's up? He's like, you're my lawyer and I just wanted to let you know that I kissed Turner. And Rick is like, I'm sorry, was it against her will? Did you force yourself? And of course, Sonny is like, I would never, because he's Sonny and he doesn't really need to. But he was like, she did slap me at the end. And Rick is like, that is not a declaration of acceptance.

But.

Chanelle  (12:20)
The turmoil, it's the forbidden love aspect of this. And as we said last year, we knew they were going down this path. You cannot have Sonny's special sauce and think that you will be immune to falling for his charm. I mean, heck, even Jordan's like, I admit it, he is very, very charming. But he really does have a soft spot for her too. I mean, she is one of the few.

La (12:31)
Yes.

Chanelle  (12:49)
law-abiding citizens who really is there for the right reasons and is chasing justice, I will say the right way for now, a la non-chase. ⁓ So for her, it's one of those things where she knew that Drew was a butthole. Like she heard him threaten Michael previously. She's seen some of the things that Willow done. She's on the right track again, a la non-chase, where she was like,

I think Willow did it, it's just we lost the evidence. And now with Sonny, it's like out of all the people you could have poured your heart and soul out to, know, Sonny was there, but you still did it on your own when it comes to telling your truths and your emotional appeal. And the kiss, I mean, he read the room right. It's just, again, I'm trying to see where would this go? Like, how can this go? How can this be?

But I'm here for it!

La (13:46)
It's gonna be

messy because he might have feelings for her, he does have feelings for her, and she definitely has feelings for him. The issue will come when something in his circle is in jeopardy. Be it Carly, be it Michael, be it something of that caliber. When it comes down to it, will he weaponize their relationship to get what he needs?

And as we've seen before, when it comes to his family, they're first. So she could fall by the wayside if it comes to that. And that's why I think Jordan was trying to point out, look, he is, charming and he usually gets what he wants. But the reason why he normally always gets what he wants is that he takes it. So be warned, you could be collateral damage.

Chanelle  (14:40)
He's a softer version of Sidwell, but I'm here for both of them. I like them both. I just wish that we knew what the pathway was for these storylines. And I feel like at this point, all I have, look, our Canadian listeners, even though we were on the same dates of the year, y'all are living in the future because you don't have as many interruptions. And I want to know what's going down in Port Charles.

La (14:42)
Yes.

Well, one thing that did go down is forgiveness. After having a conversation Forrester upon her by Dr. Gannon, Isaiah

Trina took what he said to heart and she came in hot like, will never forgive you for cheating with my mom on my father. And you're not even the father of this baby. So why are you here? And he was like, I just find it hard to believe all that your mother told me about you, that you would not want her to still have happiness. I just don't believe it. So you cutting her out of your life.

is just a disservice to yourself and to her. And she listened and she had already thought about trying to talk to her mom because she was gonna text her and then didn't. And then when she was going to call somebody else, she accidentally called her and hung up. And Kai was like, well, the only way you can do that is if you were trying to call her anyway. And she was like, I was going to, but you know, what am I gonna say? I'm still mad at you. He was like, you can't stay mad forever. And Isaiah said the same thing.

So she decided to go over to the hospital, talk to Portia, tell her that she does want her mother to have happiness. And even though it's gonna take a while for her to ever welcome Isaiah with open arms, she recognizes that they're in a relationship and go with God. So they are back in each other's lives again.

Chanelle  (16:38)
And I'm glad, mean, yes, I know it was just to add on top of the drama that Portia was facing. It just felt so out of place for me in regards to why she was feeling this way. Like the whole trope of my parents are divorced and they need to get back together. Yeah, that's cute when you're 11 or 12. Girl, you are in your 20s. Like I'm glad she didn't call her mama a hoe, but in a classy way she kinda did. So it's like that.

La (17:04)
Yeah.

Chanelle  (17:07)
I understand, like, why are we going through this circus again? You've done this already with me when I was a kid. Now my brother, a sister, geez mom, get it together. But the whole like, I'm not talking and Jordan's the reason for my parents initially and nope, that's wrong. It's like Dr. Isaiah. And it's like, talk to a therapist at this point. Like, I don't know, like you got bigger fish to fry. You done seen that Willow was an attempted murderess and you still have only told Alexis,

La (17:37)
And another potential parent couple, Brook Lynn and Chase. So it comes out that Chase, he admits openly to Brook Lynn after some prodding that, yeah, maybe I did find Michael's keys and maybe I did go to Drew's house to see if one of the keys was a key to the home and maybe it did work. And maybe I did put a bug in the police's ear to check them again. And that's what happened.

And Brook Lynn is like, I have already gone over this with you. Willow was exonerated. Willow has her kids. Willow is fine. You do not need to put your life and your career on the line for this woman. Stop it. And all your antics are going to get you pretty much banned from the police department. And we can't adopt a child if...

Only one of us is working. So we gonna have to tell Alexis that we have to cancel this adoption again if you don't stop this vigilante justice. And he claimed that he heard her and that he will stop. But I don't believe it.

Chanelle  (18:52)
Look, you nor I and most of the world knows he's still gonna try something. And at this point, I just need him to be the charge with, again, whether it's tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, something just to get through to him that what you're doing is wrong, even if you think it's for the right reasons. And it's gonna be hilarious when he comes to the conclusion that we all have now.

that Willow did it. She tried to shoot her husband dead and it did not work. And so she took a different avenue. And if he could just find it in his heart to maybe admit to himself that the way he feels about Michael might be because he stole your ex-wife, your feelings could be a little bit more justifiable because right now this whole push for truth, justice and the American way, it's getting old.

without saying the real reason of why you are so team Willow when a lot of others aren"t

La (19:56)
What I'm looking forward to is for him to, like your hopes, get caught and punished for his deeds. And then I want him in the holding cell, beside himself. And I want Willow to come visit and I want her to be like, ⁓ I would love to help you, but I'm a Congresswoman now and I have my kids and I never asked you to do any of this. So best of luck, but.

You helped me because you wanted to. I'm not helping you because it's best for me. And just leave him with that. Let him soak in those juices that when it comes down to it, Willow will always take care of Willow and her children. You, sir, are not and never have been a priority. And that's the hard lesson he needs to learn.

Chanelle  (20:48)
If she shenan once, she will shenan again.

La (20:53)
I know that's right. Let's head on over to the DMV where Nomas who can't seem to stay on course. So last month he was all about Kat, I'm in love with you. I want to be with you. Move in with me.

And Kat was like, you moving awful fast right now. We haven't even celebrated a year yet. let's slow down. Well now Kat is feeling like.

the wheels are moving pretty fast when it comes to Chelsea and Madison, they're engaged now. They were going to go to Copenhagen, but now they're going to stay in the DMV. And one thing is going to lead to another. And she doesn't want to be the third wheel because what if Madison moves in, which I don't think is going to happen because first off, it's a small garage apartment and Madison is a neurologist. So I'm thinking she has her own house condo or substantial apartment. And if anything, Chelsea would probably move in with her.

and not vice versa. But Kat already has it in her head that she would be in the way. So she approaches Tomas and is like, hey, remember you wanted me to move in with you? I think I should because Chelsea and Madison are getting closer and they're not gonna want me around as they try to plan their new life together. I don't wanna live with my mama because I don't wanna wake up and see some strange man making breakfast for her because she is on her own Stella Got Her Groove Back

journey. I don't want to live with my father because what if I run into Eva and then I'm gonna go to jail for trying to kill her. So you're the best bet. In his mind, he felt that he was the last resort and not the top tier. So he rejects her offer and is like, when we do this, we need to do this for the right reasons. You were right by turning me down when I offered you to live with me. what if you get pregnant? I was like, get pregnant.

I'm pretty sure both of y'all should be taking precautions. That is another conversation. But he was like, I just don't want us to regret if we do it too soon. So she gets, upset, but he talks her down. But then when she tries to approach the same conversation with Chelsea, Chelsea kind of feels sorry for her. And it's like, you're upset because Tomas doesn't want you to live with him.

we haven't decided where we're going to live. So I would like for you to stay around until I don't want you to be alone and feel bad. And Kat took that as an offense and was like, I'd already contacted Vanessa to look at some listings. And then Vanessa came to Uptown where they were pretty much arguing and Kat just, stood 10 toes down and was like, I'm going to move out. And the sooner the better.

So now she's on a mission to find herself her own place.

Chanelle  (23:46)
And, rightfully so. I know how we feel about Tomas, Nomas, Tomass, whatever you want to call him, even with Tomkat. But in this situation, I see both sides. Whereas previously you said, you know, if he did it before, he should be down with it again. And I feel, yes, he's probably open to it, but she didn't come correct.

Like you can't lay out all your problems and talk about why you want to do it and why you don't want to be at your parents' and then be like, well, glad you offered. Let's shack up. She, know, massages back, pour him some scotch, know, rub his feet and be like, baby, can I come move in again? You were right. No, she laid out all the problems. It's like, I guess it's you. And he felt like this is not the offer that he was wanting.

He's still in it to win it because as Bill has already told him, a family man is a more trusted lawyer than a single bachelor who's not making commitments. But I also see where I feel like life is passing Kat by in the grand scheme of things where everyone seems to be on their own path. And for her, it took her that long because as a virgin to finally make the big leap into her.

womanhood of sexual liberation with Tomas. The next step, it could be moving in or it could be a ring, but let's get to full year mark, see where it's going and then do it. I really didn't like when it was the conversation between her and Chelsea. Like they were having a heated discussion in Uptown, like heated.

And this also goes into, don't know if it's just upper-class, upper-middle-class kind of drama, but it wasn't needed if they had maybe a girls night in slumber party style, ice cream and movies and just kind of cousin one-on-one time. It went from her feeling hurt that Chelsea was going to make that whole leap to Copenhagen without even talking to her. Again, justified.

as a business woman, as a cousin, the decision should have been discussed. But I think what it was was Chelsea being like, it's because Madison and I ⁓ are about to get married. It's still a year because that's initially what Chelsea brought her to Uptown and talk about was finding a venue and stuff. But it was just this idea of, ⁓ you're, you're not really secure with Tomas and maybe you.

She still has some residual feelings after him sleeping with Eva and other things. And where Kat kind of went off the rails was this idea of the pity. She doesn't need pity. I feel like she needs kind of protection where she is still one of the very few who is like 10 toes down when it comes to trying to get Eva and Leslie either locked up or being exposed for who they are.

She still feels a certain way about Nicole aka now Naughty Nikki doing her own bidding of getting her groove back and life without Ted and Everyone around her has something and aside from ChelseaKat ,Kat doesn't have much going on But I think this might be a good step for her maybe even in the throes of a little anger and resentment of finding her own place

kind of figure out what she wants in life. And even with Tomas, mean, he's given her a key. He said he'd make some shelf room and find some space. Heck, he even welcomed, if she wants to get her dog, Rihanna, go ahead and get your dog and you both can kind of spend the night and come over whenever you please. She might just need to shake up in her life.

La (27:50)
My problem is if you're willing to do all that, then you might as well just have her live with you. I just don't want the ping ponging. I don't want him to try to get her to move in and she turns him down. Then she tries to convince him that she wants to move in I don't need all that. So in my head, the only way he's going to get her to move in with him, especially once she gets her own place, will be a proposal.

Chanelle  (28:13)
Hopefully that's the next step. mean, honestly, he's growing on me. Still a little dull in my eyes, but he's starting to show a little bit of that fuego when he interacts with Hayley and trying to figure that situation out. But I think even though Bill was the reason why he was so gung-ho about making it work with Kat initially, he does have feelings for her. I think it's coming from a place of...

if they were to have a blowup, knock down, drag out fight, she has somewhere else to go to. Yeah, it did throw me for a loop when he was like, you might end up pregnant. I'm like, whoa, sir, like, does it gotta be every night? Like, wait a minute, like. But it's the idea where if they're really about to make this step as a couple, it needs to be something she wants and he shouldn't be just the last option in the progression of her life and romantic future.

La (28:51)
You

True. All right. The other thing Kat got involved in was Leslie has decided that after seeing Anita Dupree do her big interview about revealing that she has breast cancer on the Gayle King, we have news that she needs to make an announcement too. I need some limelight as well.

Chanelle  (29:31)
CBS Morning show. Yeah.

La (29:39)
So she comes up with the ridiculous plan of, I need to make a big announcement about my free clinic. So she tries to enlist Eva who was like, I can put something together, but I can't put together something quality in a less than a day. And she's like, make it happen. So she went to Anita and was like, can I get Gayle King's number

Anita and Vernon, because again, another interruption while they're trying to eat at the club. They were like, our publicist set that up, so no, we can't give you her personal number because we don't have it either. And she's like, well, just give me your publicist number. And they were like, no, I don't think that our publicist has the time or the energy for you. But, you know, we'll pass the information along and see what they can do. And she's like, you trying to stifle me.

But before that there was an Anastasia encounter with Anita and she gave the fake, ⁓ cancer you poor thing. What can I do? And Anita gave the best speech. She was like, you can take those rocks you've been throwing at me, put them in your pocket, find the nearest body of water, walk into it and let them weigh you down so you can be with the other bottom feeders. I was like, flawless. Yes.

Chanelle  (30:59)
Dynasty shade level and I'm here for it. Yes

La (31:02)

was like an eclipse. But then, like I said, Leslie tries to finagle her way to get an interview on CBS News. And of course, they can't accommodate that. She went to Smitty Smitty was like, you stole this idea from my daughter. No. she even went to Dani and Andre. She's like, you did that big streaming announcing that you're going to model again. I need those reporters. And both Dani and Andre were like, why would you need fashion reporters?

Chanelle  (31:28)
I

La (31:29)
to talk about you opening a clinic. She's like, news is news, which shows her ignorance. And of course they were like, get the heck out of our house. So she was like, whatever, we'll just do a live stream on our own, Eva and I, and we'll do it at the diner. Which again, I don't remember her getting any permission to do so. She put on a power suit.

to make herself look more presentable, but that wasn't the case. And then she's just talking down about the community that it was, not even worth coming to until this free health clinic. And you can just see the other patrons like, who is this? And Kat sees the whole thing because she came in to get something and Laura was already there. And Laura actually had a very, like you.

Every time I think she can be more decent, she is, but she claims that she will no longer be threatened or scared of Leslie anymore, but she understands that Eva is who she is and her mom is who she is and she won't mix the two and she is a survivor. And so Kat stays and tries to call out Leslie as an attempted murderess, but when she thought it was being live streamed by Eva, it was only being recorded. Now in my mind,

If Eva gets ticked off by her mother one good time, if she uses that video where Leslie is like talking smack about the community, talking smack about Kat again, just being an awful person on camera, she can release that and just bring Leslie's already questionable and pariah status to a new low.

Chanelle  (33:17)
I feel like the DMV knows that Dana, AKA Leslie's crazy anyway. It's just another feather in her cap, if you will, because we all know, one, the fact that she was even filming something in Orphrey Gene's you didn't get permission, sis. That's first thing. Second thing is to think that she has the power, the clout, the prestige to call up.

any of the major networks and news stations in the DMV and people would come running. It's hilarious at best. Then it's just the idea that even with this whole, I got to do this press release and do all the other stuff. Ma'am, you don't even have workers, employees, real news, other than saying that the clinic is coming because we know that you still need to do the inspections and do the fire.

walk through and all that other stuff because one person who she does have in her corner, begrudgingly so, is Derek, who's willing to do all the general manager stuff to help with the clinic, but does want to do absolutely nothing when it comes to having to be in Leslie's vicinity. He wants to work with Eva and do everything else beyond that, but it's a work in progress at best. Like there's no countdown day.

She doesn't have all of her ducks in a row. I feel like she just wanted the shine that she saw everyone giving to Miss Anita and rightfully so because Anita is who she is and the message that she was spreading was actually making a positive impact. This one, Leslie should have sat this one out.

La (35:04)
She never does. Now is getting deeper and deeper indebted to Lynette. So Lynette sets up a homeless person, puts Hayley's wallet in the man's pocket and contacts the police. The man gets arrested. His name is Hammer. Last name is Hammer. They call him Sledgehammer as a joke.

and he gets arrested and charged with the attack of Hayley But Joey, after talking to June at at Orphrey Gene's, is like, ⁓ what do you know about this guy? And she's like, he wouldn't hurt a fly. He's a good man who's just fallen on hard times. So Joey takes it upon himself to get the man out and get him in his custody and is questioning him. And he's like, I woke up.

to the police. I've never seen that woman, her wallet, and he was like, what about the ring? He was like, I never got any ring because I never got in contact with this person. I didn't attack her. I don't know where this is coming from.

Meanwhile, Lynette is like, I did you another favor. I got the police and Joey off of our backs. And now there is a actual person who is being blamed for the crime. So for my reward, I would like you to get your husband to take care of my case, get rid of Nomas, and get all the charges dropped. And Hayley is like, I cannot. She was like, I'm sorry, I must have misheard you.

I am saving your butt again. Figure it out. So Lynette has her. Hayley was presented as a stone cold grifter, but Lynette seems to be the queen of it because she really does have Hayley in a bind.

Chanelle  (36:59)
At this point, the grifting brigade just, I was here for it to figure out how we were gonna get Bill to finally see the light and go back to Dani initially. Now I'm just questioning, it's like, how were you the queen of cons, Hayley, until this last one, because you're just not really good at this. And when you have to have Lynette come into here, Lynette has been here for only what, a few months, if that.

and has already caused so much havoc and gotten what she wanted. It worries me. It really worries me because we know that one fine domino could drop this whole pretense and the truth is going to come out. And right now the only two who seem to be questioning it all are Joey, because Randy is just terrible when it comes to lying and putting plans in action.

and Tomas. And if Hayley would just kind of fall back a little bit and let them handle her case, then maybe they wouldn't be looking so suspiciously at her. Lynette, it's like, what else would you like? The moon? Like, girl, we already got you a free room. We have helped when it comes to even getting, I think it was a compromise or some sort of proposal from Tomas and was like, take the deal.

And she was like, no, I want all of the charges dropped. And he's like, okay. And it's like all that she's asking for is the, juice really worth the squeeze at this point. Like, is it worth it? And I don't know if there'll be a set price or amount of money that could get her to go away. But Lynette, Lynette is doing the moves that I thought Hayley would be doing as someone who's supposed to be this great grifter.

Got me questioning some things.

La (38:55)
I do have to say who cleaned up for me this past week. Donnell Donnell was clutch because Vanessa arranged for him to be the escort at the debutant. Yes. For Samantha and Samantha was getting talked down to again by what's her name? Fantasia Francesca Francesca Yes. She was getting talked down about

Chanelle  (39:08)
Cotillion!

Well, it's Francesca, AKA Chessy Belclair.

La (39:25)
her not being a Dupree for real, her mom being homeless, like she was just being evil. And of course, Chessie was chastising Samantha talking about, I know you don't have a date, but maybe you can get one of my throwaways. I'm going to go with Nathan. That's the one that Samantha was dating. And then he was talking about how he's going to take them cookies. And Samantha even warned her. She was like, he's not a good person. She's like, you all were together for a minute, whatever.

And she's like, you know, maybe I'll like, do some charity work and find you somebody. And that's when Donnell came in. He got a little peach fuzz on his face now and he grabbed her hand. And he was like, I'm so sorry I'm late, gave her a hug. And she's like, this is your escort. And she's like, yeah. And he's the one who was like, hi Francesca. I thought she were in Paris. She was like, it was Switzerland. He was like, whatever. And he grabs Samantha by the hand and he's like, can I steal her away for a minute? Talking to June.

He was like, I just want to get more details on the cotillion stuff. And he sits her down in the booth and you just see Samantha mesmerized. And he's like, was that too much? And she was like, you're perfect. I mean, it was perfect. I was like, Lord.

Chanelle  (40:39)
Nathan who I said this is this is how I wanted to see Donnell come through I think when we first met him he was just so overzealous because it was around the time that Doug McBride had died and with that's his father and he thought he had to be this step up I'm the man of the house take charge guy and it got annoying because it's like what are you gonna do you have no job you have no prospects

Finish school at Banneker, then come back if you want to. In this kind of realm of Cotillion, being an escort for a debutante, getting to know more about his backstory, hearing how Deanna's doing, apparently her friends set her up with her mother's escort service without knowing. Like all of these things, it's like he has me smiling and hopefully...

We'll see where this goes when it comes to Samantha. Cause I just feel like a crush will be down the road with this and I'm not completely opposed to it. mean, Donnell look and the chin hairs, like he just the look, well done. Well done. He's a true Banneker man right now. And I'm here for it because whatever we can do to help Samantha, our girls shine. And the fact that it sticks it to Chessy.

La (41:43)
No, I... Yeah.

He just looked better. He looked better.

Yes. Yes.

Chanelle  (42:03)
and all the other ones when it comes to the Bellclaires, I'm here for it.

La (42:07)
100 % all right time to move on to LA where Bold and the Beautiful so I know you're shocked Logan is having problems the house of Logan has lost its lead designer because he's having palpitations and Having stress trying to get this line together on his own for a brand new fashion house Eric

And Ridge says enough is enough. And he talks to his father. His father explains how the whole surprise retirement hurt him dearly. And you know, you can't just throw away somebody because they're older and you you need to respect your elders and all of this. And Ridge buckled and cried and hugged his dad. And he's like, you can do whatever you want at whatever pace you want. I just want you back at Forrester And Eric was like, okay, I'll go.

But of course that leaves Katie and Bill in the lurch. They have a deadline to meet when they want to launch the new fashion house of Logan. And now they have no designer. Now remember a couple of months ago we were approaching Deke and I haven't seen him come to the office once. So if you had Deke on the payroll at least you would have had somebody sewing something but that wasn't the case. So now Katie is freaking out because now Ridge comes downstairs and says

Sorry, dad is coming back where he belongs and he's not going to work for you anymore. And Bill is insistent, like, we have Eric dead to rights. He has to do this because he has already obligated himself to Katie. What Katie neglected to inform Bill was that they never signed a thing. It was all verbal. So if they go to court, it's literally Eric's word against Bill and Katie's. Because remember, they kept it all in secret. I mean, they had...

the worst secret keeper in the world know about it, Liam, and Donna knew about it, but they weren't there when the conversation happened, so there are no witnesses.

Chanelle  (44:05)
Yeah.

La (44:13)
So the House of Logan has fallen before it starts.

Chanelle  (44:13)
Look in

It's crumbling, but it doesn't even have to be all this. We know at the end of the day, this is family feuding at its best. Like to even get to this point, I thought that they would draw it out a little bit longer. Honestly, I thought we wouldn't have Eric and fumbling of the fashion houses and everything else until closer to maybe, maybe spring, maybe mid March.

where they go for the debut and like on the catwalk or the runway, he finally like passes out or has a medical episode. The fact that it happened at home because he couldn't find time to sketch in a separate room and Ridge and Brooke come through the door and it's like, these are great. We should put these as a Forrester Original he's like, actually, well, well, and then you have Katie and Bill. Bill has barely stepped foot.

on Forrester to property, let alone at Eric's home. And out of all the times you do it, he's there and he's like, well, what is he doing there? So from going from that to having an anxiety attack and the stress of it all to having paramedics show up to having this big drawn out, knocked down fight between not only Katie and Brooke, but Eric and Ridge.

It's like all of this family stuff, a sorry isn't going to cut it, but I don't think you got to sue the man. I feel like he's going to fall on the sword and be like, yes, finally admitted, which he did to Ridge. That was just too much for him, which was the whole point of you retiring, sir. Like you are 80 going into your golden years with your hot young wife. Why you didn't have to take up pickleball. You could have kept sketching and just done.

couture line, you were there. No, you had to prove that the old man still got it and now look at you. You don't know what to do next. The fact that you, you, your stress levels, you act like you weren't in the hospital thinking that you had one foot in the grave previously and your doctor was like, stress. Eric, get over yourself. And the fact that he's like, I still got it. I can do it. No one said that you.

didn't, it's just the idea that we didn't want you stressing out to the point of having something medically go wrong again. That's what Ridge was trying to say. Did he move about it the right way? No. Did he give you a terrible little measly cake and say goodbye? Yes. But if he had come back and was like, ⁓ teaching the new designers, working with RJ and Zenday and Thomas overseas,

Like there are other things that they could have maybe had in place, which would have negated all of this drama. And it makes me question Katie because as we said, I don't even know if she can draw a stick figure, let alone put together some sort of styling tip. However, as the business woman that you're supposed to be, even as the media relations person, you didn't have the man sign a contract? the fact that you were like, it's a verbal agreement, girl.

What are you good for? You slapping names on stuff.

La (47:33)
Everybody knows if it's not in writing

if it's not in writing, it's not real

Chanelle  (47:38)
And it's like, yes, a verbal agreement, know, pinky promises is good for just something small, but it's like, girl. And the fact that Bill is still trying to track this along and pull her over the finish line. You didn't have a date. Like you didn't have a deadline to meet at this point. I don't know what's worse Logan or Spectra because at least if you go steal fast fashion, do it properly.

At this point you had Eric trying to get silks and stuff from Italy and I don't know what kind of quality Bill was trying to get on the cheap, but it's like you don't have Eric anymore. What you gonna do? If you have him, he's going to be doing it again begrudgingly. Call up Deke who's still working at il Giardino and let's move something along. Like you don't have to do couture even as a fashion house. You could have been doing some everyday wear.

You about to be doing some, some athletic where if you don't stop playing, like I just don't understand why this drama is playing out like this because it could have been so much easier for her, family and everyone else involved. Similar to the other issues happening this week, which is Electra, Will and this terrible love triangle, which is at this point of square, maybe a quadrilateral. don't know. It's just,

La (49:00)
That

is the epitome of could have been so much easier. I know for a fact that any and all of our listeners have youth around them, whether you're working with them, whether you're trying to raise them, they're always on their phone, always on their phone, constantly on some kind of electronic device. So the fact that Electra was like, I need to talk to Will and explain myself on why it's so important that he kicks Dylan out.

and why it bothers me so. But I'm not gonna do it in a text. It's too powerful for that. I'm not gonna do it in an email. No, no. I'm gonna take pen to paper and write down my concerns and upsetness. And I'm gonna put it on a desk that he is not in that office all the time. And I'm gonna leave it for him. And that way,

When he sees that I want to meet him in the showroom, we will work out our grievances. Well, Ivy is on a mission to make sure that Will never stays with Electra. So as soon as that girl left the room, she takes the letter and puts it in her purse. Now, later, Will comes in and is beside himself trying to figure out how to make Electra see that he...

being a good person and not a problem for their relationship with Dylan in the way or whatever. And he tugs at his necklace, which is supposed to be titanium, but I guess the chain was made out of cheap stuff because it snapped like a chip and it falls in his hands. And instead of putting it in his pocket so he can ask his, who he believes is still his girlfriend to fix it.

He leaves it in the design room where she works daily. And Ivy comes again and is like, ooh, you just leaving all the work for me. She takes the necklace, puts it where the note was. So that way when Electra sees it, she's like, ⁓ Will never came. Let me see if he got the letter. The letter's gone, but my necklace is still here and broken.

just like my relationship with Will. So she goes to the showroom, is looking at the necklace, crying her eyes out. Meanwhile, Ivy is like, my day is not done yet. I still got more manipulating to do. So she sees RJ in the other office and he's talking business, doing his job. And then afterwards she's like, you're such a lovely person. You're so amazing. ⁓ Electra.

if only she had met you first and he's like, what's the deal? And Ivy proceeds to tell all of Electra's business, you've heard about that grifter Dylan, apparently she's living at Will's house and he won't kick her out even though Electra has insisted multiple times for him to do so to make her comfortable and it's just not proper. So I just don't know what to do. I hope they don't break up, but I seem to have dropped a jewel from my work.

In the showroom, could you go get it for me? And he goes in there, sees Electra crying. Of course, floods her with compliment, your eyes are too beautiful to be wasting tears on a man like Will. If you were my woman, I would never, ever make you question my love. And he plants a kiss on her. Now, you would think she would have pushed him away the moment he started leaning in, but instead.

she takes the kiss and then after is like you can't do that. Now before the kiss, Will decided to go home and tell Dylan to get out. Now he did not let Electra know that he had done as she asked. Instead he comes back to Forrester Creations to tell her in person and spots RJ and Electra kissing and leaves.

angry, throwing papers around before she pushes him away and tells him you can't do that. So then the next day, my favorite, because Chanelle hates this, he calls out sick. Sick from whatever he does? I don't know. But he calls out to Electra. So is she your boss? Why are you just letting her know that you called out sick? Either way, they don't address anything. She doesn't tell them about the letter.

Chanelle  (53:31)
We don't know your child.

La (53:42)
He doesn't tell her why the necklace was in the design office. Neither one says anything about the RJ kiss. And then you hear Dylan in the background because after Will saw the kiss, he goes back home all upset. Dylan is comforting him, hugging him. And he's like, you know what? You don't have to leave after all because apparently we're over. Nobody has ever said the words, but both Electra and Will are so stupid and.

are not acting like typical people their age, texting and calling, that they both feel that they've already broken up and neither one has.

Chanelle  (54:20)
⁓ it just, grinds my gears. It grinds my gears so much because while they don't have to be just a stale romantic couple, it's just the influence of so many outside people with this love story that's supposed to be unbreakably bonded together. It's annoying. And I think at this point, I want them to break up. don't know if I'm even rooting for them to get back together.

The only one who's kind of put two and two together officially, surprisingly was Daphne Rose because she saw when Ivy took the letter and put it in her purse. She saw Electra crying and got to comfort her and talk about it. Hell, she saw when Will was frustrated because he came storming into another office with Daphne and Carter and finally had a little conversation with Carter. So I mean,

Out of all the people, she's kind of the outlier of, okay, she's putting two and two together. But my thing with Electra is even if you're going to do an Aaliyah Four Page Letter, like why did you not maybe send a text, angry or otherwise, when he didn't show up or when you saw the necklace or when he didn't come in the first day or the next day, or maybe just curiosity might got the best of you. Let him know.

that you have a man, ew your cousin, waiting in the wings trying to kiss you because all of this is going on. You're mad because Dylan's there and it was improper and inappropriate, but this man put his lips to your lips and it took a good maybe five Mississippi's before you said, no, what are you doing? And that's probably what it deserved to slap too. I just feel like at this point,

Girl, you've done the do and everything else. You've overcome a serial killing ⁓ baby mama that Will had. And this is what's breaking you up, your Aunt Ivy who you think could do no wrong, but has been doing wrong left and right. For again, these last few weeks seems so invested in your relationship, when she didn't even put this much effort into her own relationship with Liam or anyone else.

La (56:38)
Thanks

Chanelle  (56:46)
It's baffling to me. And yes, this all could have been easily wrapped up with a bow if Will had just read the writing and read the room early on and not invited Dylan back. But I also don't feel like he is still at a place where, yes, he was wanting to kick Dylan out. But the fact that, you know, this little upset and hiccup in your relationship and he didn't realize that she dropped her bag.

didn't put nothing in that car that she's supposedly been living in and is trying to comfort him. Girl, if you don't leave my house and let me pick up my own heart and broken pieces of my relationship, you ain't slick. You ain't slick. And if he's going to be this bright-eyed and bushy tail, at this point, I'm questioning Katie. Are you truly Bill Spencer's son? Like, what are you doing? Like, this is just, this is very, mm.

I was going to say soy behavior, but I'm not even going to do that to him because I feel like even Liam after a while, him getting his wires crossed is on this level. So maybe you are Bill's son. Like I, I questioned it. I questioned it and how long we're going to be back and forth. Like this is not the notebook. This is just the tale of two idiots at this point. I send a text, maybe have a phone conversation that goes beyond my heart. I'm sick or I'm calling out sick.

I saw you kissing that man. You saw me kissing him. ⁓ you didn't come with the note like something like this is going to be forever in a day. Wrap it up. Wrap it up quickly. Let's get back to the regularly scheduled programming of fashion for bold and the beautiful. No one's bold. Yes, you're beautiful, but y'all are still broken and dumb. I'm just tired of it.

La (58:34)
And unfortunately, you're probably still tired of Genoa City as well because Cane is still trying to get his family back. And Victor still has supposedly Lily and the twins And Phyllis now is in charge of Newman Enterprises and is like, everybody should be happy for me because I vested Victor. And her son is like, I'm never talking to you again.

Her daughter is like, ever come to Milan again. She has no one except Lauren, but I still question, like she seems on the fence. one minute she's praising her because of course anything to take down Victor the way that he's mistreated Michael, she's behind. But then she's like, everybody hates you because of what you did to that family. So she's like, I support you, but it's probably best if you apologize. And of course Phyllis

has dug her heels in. I have done the deed and I'm never, ever, ever giving Newman Enterprises back. So Cane takes it upon himself to pretty much trap her on the train with this huge man that's blocking the door. But unless you goin hog-tie her, she's not going to do what you need done to get your family back. So I don't understand your plan, sir, at all.

Then you have Nicholas. Nicholas Newman, I told you, go to the doctor. He's upset because now we know that Matt Clark got off on a technicality and he's back out in the streets and he didn't waste a second. He is already texting not only Noah, but Nick too. Riddles and give me $5 million and I'll leave you alone or I'm gonna make your life hell. And he's already on the prowl and we don't even know where he is.

And you know, there's no Newman. Matt Clark is after them. My leg hurt and he has turned officially. We watched him take one of those illegal pills. And all I can say is you could have avoided this, sir. your leg probably didn't mend correctly because you didn't stay on the crutches. You probably need reset because all you do is walk.

you know, hobbling around everywhere and you can't handle pain. Obviously you can't handle pain because you're going through the drugs that you were legally given like the tic tacs and now you've resulted to opioids. So you're a hot mess. The whole thing is a hot mess. And then the preview for next week is Jack is missing and supposedly Victor has him. Does he have like some stable?

or some, I mean we know he has a dungeon, but it didn't look that big when he had Jordan in it. Where are all these people staying? Where is he putting all these people he's snatching?

Chanelle  (1:01:25)
I'm just kidnapping left and right. Like I said, this man is a Pokemon catcher at best, you gotta catch them all. Finally get Cane to do what he needs to do and get his company back. I am so through with this. This is the grand scheme. We just gonna kidnap people. Kind of like having Devon come out with Cane And it's like, I haven't been able to get in contact with Lily, with the twins, everything. ⁓ yeah, there.

La (1:01:43)
Yes.

Chanelle  (1:01:55)
Even just listening, more danger. Cane you're not selling this as something that can be fixed. it's like, can't tell you anymore. The ransom note hasn't been paid. Like, sir, you might as well just, Victor has them. I'm trying to get the company back. I'm working on it because it's like, Devon has finally reached out to Nate. They've put two and two together. They're trying to figure out which of the Newmans know.

La (1:02:03)
No, you're making it seem like, ⁓ I'm gonna do what I can, but yeah.

Chanelle  (1:02:25)
Again, for someone to come to Genoa City with this big bad AI program, you don't have no fail-safes, my guy.

Cane, I'm not even angry anymore. I'm just disappointed. just, so we've been dealing with this for over a year now. I just don't understand, like two steps forward and like three steps back. Like this isn't even Paula Abdul anymore. Like, sir, when will this end? And all through this, just to have Matt Clark basically be the great escape artist that he is and find the legal way.

La (1:02:55)
It won't.

Chanelle  (1:03:05)
to get out of his troubles just to start more trouble. the fact that we even have Sienna back in Genoa City, it's like, girl, you probably about to die. Like, I just don't see how we have all of these moving pieces. Like, yes, you came back to the cold for this foolishness. ⁓ Like, and even with my girl Sally, now we have Spectra Charles, know, Abbott Communications.

La (1:03:17)
It's gonna end well for you.

Chanelle  (1:03:34)
no more Newman, know, media has been kind of absorbed into Spectra Charles, but all of that, the fact that Billy just one time have dinner with me and, she goes spiraling like, I, I need her to stay steadfast. The fact that she has me agreeing with Audra. Yes. Don't don't she's like, don't you do it either. You're going to get back with them or y'all going to leave and it won't be an

La (1:03:53)
Audra told her, she was like, don't do it.

Chanelle  (1:04:03)
Amicable split like what are you doing? the fact that we end the week with Phyllis and Lauren Fenmore of all people having brunch and and having I guess the only person she semi considers a friend in her corner So much so that she offers Lauren of all people a job like Fenmore isn't popping the fact that we still need a phone call between Lauren and ChelseaKat like I

⁓ Genoa City. Like, I know it's cold in Wisconsin right now, but there has to be some other stuff. Like, there's just gotta be. I'm still trying to figure out my life after Mariah kidnapped Dominic. Apparently the boy, Dominic finally had a bad dream. He's not being able to piece together what it actually means, but he was being chased around by missing his parents and snowmen that weren't his parents.

It just, February sweeps y'all. End the Black History Month, I just don't know. just, ⁓ soaps.

La (1:05:11)
Well, all we can hope

is that we will see some improvement in this week's episodes, because we're going to watch them all, because we do it for you every week. So this concludes our episode of Lather Up With La. Don't forget to subscribe.

Chanelle  (1:05:21)
Yes.

and Chanelle.
