La & Chanelle S2 Ep8 (00:05)
Hello and welcome to another installment of Lather Up With La and Chanelle. So we don't have Nielsen knowledge, but we do have some fun knowledge to share. So apparently there's this website that Chanelle stumbled upon called Million Podcasts and it ranks podcast the best 40 soap opera podcast in the U.S. and it goes by how you are ranked on Apple.
at Spotify and the amount of monthly listeners you have and subject of expertise and all around excellence. And shockingly to our pleasant surprise, we rank 17 in the United States. So we have to thank you listeners. So keep listening tell your friends, tell your family. We appreciate anybody who takes the time to listen to our rants and raves.
and we will continue to do so as long as you want us. Yes. Thank you. Look, we do this for you. For you every week. And look, Nielsen is kind of running slow, but I do have some other updates I'd like to give. General Hospital celebrated its 63rd anniversary on April 1st. OG I appreciate it because again, the legacy that it has created.
It's ABC's longest running daytime drama and they keep giving me more and more and last week proved it. Yes. But I do have to worry about CBS. ⁓ Clock is ticking. While we know that Y&R and Bold and the Beautiful are coming back, Beyond the Gates has not given us an update about the renewal for season three. Don't play with us. Look, the gatekeepers.
We gotta mount up at this point. Absolutely. Watch as much as humanly possible because you can't tell me that they're not getting enough viewers. There's no way. And it's focused on the DMV, which is sorry, not sorry. We're a Mecca. People love us. People love to know what's going on in Virginia, DC and Maryland. Don't try to be slick. Sign on the dotted line and renew this for a third season so we can keep going at Fairmont Crest. Understood?
you will lose so much if you don't. I can feel it. I'm just hoping CBS do the right thing. Amen. But this week we gonna start out a little different than we normally do. We gonna kick it with Young and the Restless because they brought back two OGs. ⁓ yes. We were able to see Malcolm Winters played by the timeless Shemar Moore along with
Stephanie Simmons, also timeless, Vivica A. Fox. The problem is it was a drive-by. So we see Malcolm, he surprises Lily, Devon, and Nate, even Phyllis is like, my God, Malcolm. He comes back, unfortunately, with bad news. He has a sort of blood cancer, and he needs a stem cell donor.
and bone marrow. So he literally came to town, not just to see folks, but to kind of get some help from his biological daughter, Lily Winters. Unfortunately, it is determined that she cannot be a donor because she had cancer back in the day and endured chemo, which makes her non-viable. But also with Stephanie's return comes her
being Malcolm's doctor and coming to blow the lid off of Holden's life by letting him know that, you know the man that raised you with me? That won't your daddy. That was a man who loved me despite not being your daddy. Who your father is, is Malcolm Winters and he needs your stem cell. So you gonna tell the man that his biological father, is alive and well and that he needs medical help.
through you and did you have a half-sister a that you flirted with when you first got there named Lily. What? That was a little too much to throw on somebody. It was like no pressure, but bam, bam, bam. Like it was lined up and my running joke for the week was I saw Stephanie arrive in her fabulous green suit and by Friday she was leaving in that fabulous green suit. I mean, at this point I felt like it was.
24 to 48 hours and that was it for all of this to be laid out for all of us to reminisce to finally kind of put the pieces together because I'm gonna say I think we called it saying that hold it like he was he was too fine not to be look Malcolm son I was truly it a dream it was a dream ⁓ but it was just a lot to unpack and then it was Lily saying let's fire up the jet because while she couldn't
be a viable candidate. Holden did get tested. So while he doesn't know Malcolm as his father, at least we know that he likes to try to help people. But now we're on to see the twins can be a match for Malcolm. What I demand is that we get follow-ups. I don't want a passing, ⁓ Malcolm's fine now. No, make that man come back or make Lily and Devon
and Nate go to him. Or if you really want to do some damage, have him go to one of the top hospitals supposedly Garland, which is in Beyond the Gates and have him taken care of there. You might even be able to throw the plasma concern, like maybe involving with his medical thing. I'm just saying, if you're to do a crossover in May, which you are.
What better way to cross over than to have two stars like Vivica and Shemar over on Fairmont Crest. It would make sense. That's true because I mean, right now I'm still trying to piece together how this crossover will continue to grow. I mean, once we get to Beyond the Gates, we heard lot more dropping with Fenmore, but I feel like right now I was tuned in in real time looking at just Dr. Stephanie and Malcolm.
Once we went back to Las Vegas on Friday and all of that going on, was just like, huh. I mean, I just need them to really understand that you can't play with my emotions like this. We had the portrait of Neil and everything else. Like so many emotions just with the nostalgia of what Y&R used to be as one of the main OGs. Don't lose this momentum. Absolutely. And
Now we're left with Lily and Holden have to deal with the fact that they're actually half brother and sister. We have not told Devon and Nate. They don't know that Malcolm's sick. They don't know that Holden is now a relative. All of this is up in the air. And again, you did a drive-by. So in five days, I've learned that Malcolm had a child that he didn't even know he had. You brought back Stephanie and Malcolm, but they're not together. It's just, she's his doctor.
Why wouldn't he call Olivia? I would trust Olivia before I trusted Stephanie because I'm under the impression that they are talking probably more than him and Stephanie. Maybe, I presume, maybe Olivia is not an oncologist, but still, she should be more involved, I would think. That's true. Look, at one point Stephanie talked about, why didn't you tell Malcolm earlier? I thought you were dead. Now that threw me for a loop, because I was like,
but to have this be the reason that you finally tell Holden in his 30 plus years of life that, your daddy who you thought was your daddy was not your daddy. Malcolm, you are the father. It was like, okay. And the fact that she didn't even have to tell him because he did not qualify for the donation. So you blew up this man's life for no reason. If you didn't tell him in 30 years, might as well die with it.
Keep a stiff upper lip, my guy. But again, like you said, how now this revelation will unfold will be interesting to see. The people who know at this point, aside from just the inner workings of Stephanie, Malcolm, Lily, and Holden, Holden kind of confided in Claire. Audra overheard the confession Then when it comes to just Malcolm and his health,
Lily told Tracy that was a moment, but through it all, we have to remember that Nate and Devon are still kind of side-eyeing Lily because she went with the plan of Victor, and so she hasn't really even got back in their good graces. No.
It was just a lot to absorb in that one time. I'm just like, really though? I will say it was a nice reprieve of not having to deal with AI. It was a very nice reprieve. Almost forgot about it except, know, knew about it. The baby pleas of trying to get Diane back, but I was like, yeah. Honestly, at this point, I mean, Jack should give her time.
But if she's hell bent on not forgiving him, throw some divorce papers, because that'll jog her memory. That would probably set her on like, do you want to end this marriage? Because if so, let's do this. We ain't getting no younger. I don't have time to beg and plead with you. I told you what happened. I'm sorry it happened. I should have been faster, but I am old. I can only jump out of a bed so fast. Get over it. Who else is going to take you? Oof! That you get-
I made it. Look, come at it little bit more respectfully. Bring some flowers on the edible arrangement. Damn. Like, she get on my nerves. poor Kyle, you keep bitching to Kyle. ⁓ you did me wrong. my God. And Kyle is like, what do you want him? You know I love him. are you gonna give him? No, I'm not gonna give him a chance. He was like, well, I don't know how we're gonna do this. Like, either you're with him or you're not. Especially with Patty Williams still in town. That's one thing.
that this week gave me, it was reprieved from everything else because so many other storylines kind of fell by the wasteside. And then I'm like, you still got Patty floating around, Malcolm saw Phyllis and was like, I'm going to see you girl if I have time. Nope, didn't have time. Didn't have time. So now it's just the idea of all the other fallout. And through it all, you still have Cane and technically Jack talking about revenge against Victor. Victor, meanwhile, still trying to get his companies back.
You have Nikki still staying at the athletic club. Mind you, the athletic club that Cane supposedly still owns. How are you broke, my guy? there's so many fragmented storylines that are going to need some super glues, something. Tape. Tape. Because you're telling Cane that he doesn't have a dime left, but he still owns the athletic club. He bought a bunch of properties when nobody had access to
the internet, what happened to those? What happened to those things that he owned? Did he lose all that too? You know what you could do, my guy, sell that train. Get rid of the train and just live in the athletic club if you still own it. That would give you something, but... Or sell one of the trains on any of the other continents, supposedly. I'm like, slow down, Thomas the Tank Engine. I really don't understand this love of trains when you about to be allegedly broke. At this rate, I don't care.
I just don't understand how you're broke. It doesn't make sense. True. And through it all, another thing that's right now slowly not starting to make sense, Vegas. At this point, I feel like Adam is using Spider as a way to cheat because he is ducking and dodging all of Chelsea's phone calls. He is kissing up on Riza. He is winning money and got your brother back at the hotel room taking drugs. And they're all doing like...
where it's one step closer to finding out about Matt Clark. At this point, hire a skywriter. Like, he is so close in your vicinity and you still haven't picked up on anything. After you won the money with Riza, maybe after your fourth makeout, you could have been like, hey, do you know a guy named, you know, Mitch Bacall, If not Mitch, what about Matt? And we left on Friday with Nick getting a- Kidnapped again.
your head while you are going into a random room talking about hello the doors open are you okay is everyone is someone safe sir you are tweaking as it is I don't know what kind of help you thought you were gonna give but you're coming up short and you're about to be kidnapped and we know that it's gonna be Matt what kills me is how many times are we gonna kidnap people on this show I'm over it
It's like Josh, we get it, you really love a good kidnapping. If it's not a child, it's a woman. If it's not a woman, Here's the other thing that should have happened. If you're gonna have Nick, who you've been suspecting something is off all this time, you don't wanna be around the corner and like checking on him or making sure that when Matt comes out, he don't snatch him like he did. I just feel like it was so not a bright idea for...
Adam to stay in their room as opposed to being down the hall out of sight and keeping an eye on Nicholas. Like what kind of plan is this? Look, the Newmans are dealing with their own financial crisis right now. So to save money, they're in the same room. You have Nick who has brought two drug dealers to the room. have Adam, AKA Spider, who has stolen or technically won money from people.
So now you don't think anyone would be like, let me see where this man is staying and trying to hit him out. And then you have it just Riza because she's still trying to see if Spider is really someone she can trust. And she's been telling Matt, AKA her partner, that they want to introduce them and making it make sense. I'm like, through this all, we still don't know when we are going to be finished with Vegas.
This is longer than the hangover movie and we still don't have any type of possible conclusion and it's not going to end well. And even the women back in Genoa City, bless their hearts, Sharon and Chelsea, they've been trying. They've tried to call in, they try to talk to Nick. Nick is all drugged up talking about, don't know about what Adam's doing. Really, this is not a great time. And I'm like, sir, what are you doing? You are stuck in the room. You stop playing the slots.
Right now, that's all you have is time and you have not created any kind of game plan. And now Chelsea's back in Genoa City. I have a feeling that things aren't going well. Well, even though we know that they're not going well, maybe if Adam picked up a call and checked in once or twice, then we could have established something because now that when neither of them checks in, they're just going to have people worrying about them. And
In the preview for this week, you see Matt snatch the hood off of Nick's head and he is drenched. So being a professional drug dealer, he pretty much knows his clientele. So how much you want to bet he's going to be like, Nick, you want this? You need this, don't you? He's going to taunt him. Then he's going to be withdrawal. It's going to be horrific. At this point, just need Nick. Fentanyl is no joke. And the fact that you've been taking whatever type of
opioid you've been taking. You need to have Narcan on standby. Here's the other thing that I'm thrown. You went from pills to powder real quick. Real quick. Like, you have any experience in this? I have to go back in my Rolodex of what he was into because this ain't like a Jack remember him ever being in the drugs. it was so seamless. It was like, got powder? Did the guy even tell him what it was?
I don't think so. think he just said party favor and Nick was like bet. And through it all, we lost the cane and we lost the lip. And he has been moving on his own accord, floating ever since. All right, let's go to DMV where on Beyond the Gates, our poor Madison is going through it. Yeah.
Her mother, who she tried to tell Chelsea is unreliable and can get her into trouble with her whole, you know, holistic, the earth can save you. yeah. Well, she gave advice to a woman about how ginger and some other herb can help you stop a fever. And this woman took that advice that was on her mom's website, but...
had supposedly a testimonial from Dr. Madison saying, I concur, whatever she's saying is on point. And the woman did as Madison's mom suggested and her child almost died. And so she is suing Madison for malpractice, which again, seems crazy because you didn't talk to her, you just went by some woman you saw on a website and you took matters into your own hands.
as opposed to going to an actual doctor. That's your right. But you can't blame the doctor that you never saw for the mishap. But apparently in this litigious world we live in, you can. So she runs to Chelsea who was actually with her father at the time telling him all about her Fenmore's deal that Naomi brokered. So now Her and Kat are Fenmore girls. So that helps with the crossover. But...
She tells her dad and Naomi everything that Madison's going through and they actually have a debate like Bill was like, you just gotta pay them because that's the easiest thing because it's gonna be hard to prove that you didn't co-sign with your mom. And Naomi is like, absolutely not. Then you're admitting to guilt that you had nothing to do with. So they've decided to team up and they're going to help Madison through this chaos. Fight the good fight. And again, this is...
one of the few weeks where I saw Naomi doing a lot of litigation and lawyering work. And I am happy. And this was also the week for Naomi that she was feeling a little down and out because during her anniversary, she couldn't be with her main squeeze, Jacob. So we got a trip down memory lane and to basically bide her time from
getting to hang out with Ashley to her mother, we got to see a different side of Naomi. So to see her in lawyer mode, in friend mode, in daughter mode, she stopped by to see grandma. Like, well done. I'll give her that because after everything that we had to deal with last year, I was very apprehensive to see if she was still one of my favorite Dupree adjacent people.
I also feel that this team up will either solidify or make Bill concerned remember he did his will over and he has left his practice to Naomi. If he works with her and sees, of course he's like, she's great because she's my daughter, but to see her in action, action with him.
I think that will either solidify like, I did the right thing. And if anything, you can try to pull her in as opposed to her, you know, pro bono stuff she does. Or if she doesn't pull her weight, you can be like, let me rethink this, cause she ain't ready for the big time. That's true. I mean, this was also a week for him because he almost lost one of his junior partners. Tomas was ready to get out that door. He not, I won't say slam the paper down, but it was just like here.
What's this? This is my resignation letter. Why? Is this because of Hayley? It sure is. And it was like, ⁓ okay. You know how I feel Tomas and his huevos. Like I feel okay sir. We getting it. He put it all out on the table, but it ended up being a good moment to have Bill basically like, I see a lot of me in you and you know, I was trying to
build you up to be the best attorney and why would I let you leave because all that knowledge and wisdom that I have bestowed upon you, no other firm deserves it. But now it has also agreed that he's finally opened his eyes, at least the fact that Lynette is the con artist. Hasn't seen that Hayley's the con artist too. if anything, she's a victim. But at least he's starting to piece things together and with doing so,
This gives Tomas a little bit of extra leverage because now he gets to investigate Lynette. Once she continues to keep doing what she's doing, which again, I don't understand how her, Hayley, and you know how I feel about Randy, have been in this game for so long because while you are trying to take millions from this man, the best bet wouldn't be to stay in town and buy a penthouse when you promised Hayley that you would leave.
DMV, while we are three separate places, it's so small that it's an overheard conversation with Lynette and Vanessa by Joey, who's already suspicious of Randy and Hayley and knows that some Tom foolery is going on. And then you have him confronting Randy and is like, you, you really aren't good at this. I mean, me and and Joey see eye to eye on this. And to the point where it's like,
Now they're like, we gotta kill Bill. No, you might need to take out Lynette. Amen. And what kills me is, like you said, it's crazy work that Lynette is staying in town. Crazier that you go to some real estate agent that everybody in Fairmont Crest uses. She wants the best of the best. Yes, but the best of the best also knows people that knows people that's related to Hayley. Why would you even risk that? And especially since you asked for a grip of money.
But the promise was you would leave. And then you turned around not even 24 hours later and is like, I need a penthouse. I'm like, this woman ain't going nowhere. She got to die. Again, I had high hopes. I thought that I would enjoy just the comeuppance that Hayley needs to get. But now the clock is ticking because it's like, what you gonna do? Like to be the ultimate.
con women that you keep saying that you are, you're not doing a good job. Also, you said, with Tomas, he could hold that over her head too. I would hope, and I fear he might, tell her that we're looking into your friend Lynette, but if he's like, you keep coming at me, I know something's up with you two. Please don't make me call it out with your husband. Your name might be on the door now, because you're Mrs. Hamilton, but I can break you too. Let's both know.
that we're both watching each other, okay? Like step up to the plate, Tomas. I mean, that's the kind of heat that Kat has been having I was gonna say, that would be the Kat rub it off on him, That that might be what he needs because even through the celebration of the Fenmore, like we made it party, she's up to Bill like, Tomas told me that you wanted to stay. You ripped up his resignation letter. Hopefully you've seen the error of your ways and your gold digging wife. I'm like, Kat. She got
No chill. I'm like the uncle who treats you more like a daughter than your own daddy. Like, can we? No, she equal opportunity. Everybody can get that smoke. notches down? Everybody can get that smoke. I love it an E for everyone. Yup. But through it all again, we're seeing the development of all this stuff. But I just love the moments where the Duprees get to be a family. Like I said, with that celebration.
Seeing everyone out, even Miss Anita came out to Uptown to celebrate with them. And the little catwalk moment where everybody's doing it. was like, these are the family moments I like to see. Another family moment. That had me in my feels. So Samantha is diehard, I want my mama at this cotillion. And she has tried multiple times. And June is like, thank you, but no thank you. I can't go. I'm not going. Don't want to go.
Don't do it. So she recruits Tyrell. We gonna, you know, double team and really show her that we want her there. They try again and June is like, I said what I said. And Samantha goes off, can't you just do something good for your children for once? Sent poor June to the back in tears. Tyrell comes after fussing out his sister, comes back out with her and then June explains.
Even though I'm clean now, I wasn't. And people already know how I was and what I did when it came to you two. I do not want my dark cloud over you all in this bright moment. You could be the platinum Deb. Tyrell is going to have this beautiful girl on his arm, Jessica. I can't risk making you all look bad. And both Samantha and Tyrell tell her.
You could never make us look bad. We're where we are because of you. So do us this solid and please grace us with your presence at this cotillion. And she had everybody cry and said yes. So she will be attending the cotillion now. I loved, I mean, it really was an emotional moment that I actually enjoyed. Samantha had her bratty moments, however,
just the realization that it's like a mom not wanting to embarrass you. It almost reminds me of imitation of life. Yes. It took me there with like, if your life could be so much more without me in it, I'm willing to do it. So if that's what it needs, but then even having Tyrell being like, I will teach you the forks and how to properly eat whatever and whatever you want to do, mom, I'm behind.
Yes. It was beautiful. And you know, I'm not a fan of June, but when she gets it right, she gets it right though. And that was a great emotional moment. Now, another brat would be Deanna. She is just unstoppable. She came to Joey's casino and demanded answers. And he diplomatically is like, I love your mother.
I would never do anything to hurt her or to ruin her reputation. I know you don't trust me. You pretty brave just coming up in here though. And that's what cracks me up. It's like, nobody knows you're here. I could make you disappear like I did your daddy. You don't know this, but I have that power. But she demands to know was he cheating with her mom before her father died? And that's how we ended it this past week.
Joey's pretty honest. I don't know. I mean, I don't remember if him and Vanessa got that story straight. I mean, she did tell him that she lied. So I'm thinking he'll go with that, but he did look thrown. So if he says no, I don't think Deanna's gonna believe him. Yeah, she was like, I am a personal truth detector. And if you lie to me, I'm like, girl, calm down. He's a killer. Don't push the killer. But it will be interesting to see because
I need her to get off zero to a hundred so quickly. And if she at least has her own investigating, remember that's kind of what Doug was supposed to be doing before he died as a way to try to take down Joey. If she wants to pick up that mantle from dear old, unfortunately dead dad, then go ahead and do that. But while we're trying to figure this out, what does it actually accomplish? we know he's not coming back, baby.
your mama is trying to be happy. You know he had his own demons. But I will see how far this continues to play out. I like that we realize now that Banneker, which is the fictional version for us of Howard University, is so close to the DMV, especially this fictional area, which is similar to Prince George's County. Like I like to see them interacting. Donell more so right now with Samantha with this cotillion going on, which...
I'm hearing through the grapevine is gonna be a big kind of performance with like 20 dancers. I saw that as to see the pomp and circumstance. Suggestion, we need a little go-go. Remind the world that you're in the DMV and we are known for our go-go Chuck Brown and Mambo sauce. Don't play, don't play. Look, I... Can you imagine them being dressed to the nines and then go-go kicks in and they do a dance?
I would be floored. Look, you looking for some sort of Bridgerton breakdown of a waltz and go-go. A waltz wale, if you will. I think Ms. Shonda Rhimes has proven that you can do contemporary music with cellos and violins and still make it flawless. All right, BYB. Beat your feet on this. That'll be interesting to see. One thing I saw a lot of this week that it just grinded my gears, Jacob and Smitty. This is not...
a team up You mean Cagney and Lacey? I just, I really, it's more of a Barney Five situation. And this week I have to unfortunately call out my boy Smitty. As a journalist who was doing investigative work, sir, if you were a part of Watergate, we would have been found out way too soon because not only were you not supposed to do your own digging, but you went to your mother-in-law's computer in a medical facility.
typed in information talking about, I'm good, I closed out. You closed out wrong. Wrong, my guy. So now you have raised the alarms and you don't even realize that you did it. Now you have Jacob where it's like, sir, you are supposed to be undercover brother. Why do you keep calling Grayson with making these demands? It's like, who gonna check you boo? Talk about meet me in 20. This man is really on the job though. Like why do you keep bothering him? You gotta give me some information. Stop.
Like, you'll have it, you'll have it. Like you are doing way too much and at this point you have Smitty leading Jacob in the wrong direction because he's looking at some lab tech named Rachel when it's Lia who surprisingly, Chief Hawthorne is messing up because he and Jacob is giving you the information. He didn't ask you to help in this way. Now you about to send your dirty cop.
Malone who's saying, she good people. I'm like, Oh, she good people, you, the dirty cops. This is what I'm saying. fact that he vouched for her. was like, Oh, that's bad news. Questions. Many questions. So I am just concerned of how this will go because while Jacob continues to try to bring down this plasma ring, his mama and Naomi are like, we just, something's not fitting right in this where it's not sitting right with this at all.
And this is also around the time that Darlene, his mama, Izaiah's mama as well, we're still waiting to see Luke. Luke! She was on a tangent, if you will, this week. Izaiah tried to introduce Eva properly to his mother as requested, and she knows a lot. She knows too much when it comes to the whole Leslie-Eva duo. And she was not apologetic about saying it.
⁓ I know what your mama did, ruined an anniversary and destroyed Nicole and Ted's marriage. I'm well aware. And Eva tried. Well, she has the clinic now and she's helping community. Blood money that she got from Anita being kind and feeling guilt about her mama. But you didn't get it by good means. Y'all stole it. And of course, Leslie comes.
uninvited and it's like, don't talk to my baby that way, which is stuck up self, blah, blah, blah, blah. So yeah, it was not pretty. It definitely was not. And we got to see on Monday during the anniversary recap episode with Jacob and Naomi, she had a little bit of heat for Naomi when she first met her too. The thing that I will point out, I don't know if it's just the Southern writers or whatever, but DMV shade is a little different.
than some places around the world. In the South, you have a bless your heart, if you will. The DMV, one of the first questions you get, whether dating or something is what do you do? And then I think she should have gone along the lines of with Naomi, was classism. With Eva, you and your mama did do a lot of dirt. Let's call it spade and spade. Really, you did it. But it should have been questions like what church do you go to?
You know, have you lived in the DMV? Who are your peoples outside of your crazy mama? Because that's where she's getting all of this because this is one of the few people to kind of hold Eva's feet to the fire and be like, even if your mother was a part of it, you worked for them. You're the one who, you know, through the anniversary shower, you are complicit into this. I have my eye on you and my baby, my baby boy.
I think he's too good for you. And she's not wrong. But he's also the black sheep. So while they are a family of cops and she's a 911 dispatcher, he's always been kind of dancing to the beat of his own drum. So while she has voiced her opinions, which Eva did here, he is also trying to double down on this relationship because I forget that with April here, we're coming up on not only Eva's birthday,
but Kat's birthday and an early birthday present that Izaiah gave Eva. The bracelet. Again, it was sweet, but it's going to be interesting to see because while it's a sweet, thoughtful, emotionally connected gift, if Tomas breaks out diamonds or something for Kat, I feel like Leslie is going to have something to say about it because she still wants him to be her son-in-law. And so if this comes to head where while they're establishing that
Izaiah does choose Eva. Leslie, think I saw like a little look at Eva's eye where it's like, would my life be a little bit better if I could put mama back in her place because she's messing it up. And for everything that's gone down, the one like caveat, seems to be Eva is do not mess up her relationship with Izaiah. That's the only breaking point. I feel like that's the only thing that's going to make Eva see everything that everybody said.
Mama, you are terrible. You ruin the one moment of happiness I could have had. If she does that in any way, shape or form, Eva will let that woman fall. If anything, she might break out the helmet. Because I think she still has it. Look, if not, look, Kat did steal it. But I need the FBI or whoever Jacob sent it to to do some more work because the gloves had been tested. I don't think they got anything off of it.
But I feel like everyone around the DMV knows you are a killer, allegedly, or at least an attempted killer. And we keep saying, we like seeing when Leslie gets her comeuppance and realizing that you can't throw money at every situation. Some things need to come to a head for her, whether it's financial, whether it's this love life she thinks she supposedly has with Malone, something.
One other thing we need to keep an eye on is Vanessa. ⁓ She is alienating everybody and her and Nicole had a true blow up. The fact that Nicole would not apologize for the debacle, which was their double date. And Vanessa is like, I love him. And if you don't love him, you don't love me. And Nicole was like, bet. So when her world comes crumbling down, if she ever figures out what Joey did to her deceased husband.
who's she gonna turn to? Donnell? That's the only person she got left. That's true. And with this, it also kind of shows the dynamics where this is that Bonnie and Clyde ride or die love that I tell you, why do I have to die and where are we riding to? I don't like being a ride or die personally. And Vanessa is like guns ablaze and this is my man, my man, my man. Not only that.
The fact that he is giving her a business and right now... She wants more. She wants to be in it deep. And this is that whole, you know, when she was on her mob wife status, now she's on her mob boss status. And it's like something is going to happen where whether it's Joey or in accordance with whatever she has going on, it's gonna come to a head and she's probably gonna need Nicole. While Dani was like, follow your heart.
She should have told her, but be careful to know who your true friends and family are too. Because I just worry about her. But I'm also side eyeing Nicole a little bit because some of those jabs that Vanessa was getting in about, know, the fact that I'm in a monogomous relationship and you know, everything else with, pick a side, pick a side. And we saw this week too, that she was reminiscent and kiki a little bit too hard with even with Ted.
So it'll be interesting to see for sure. All right, off to Port Charles, where Marco's dead. Yeah. And every other day, I feel like we heard Sidwell say, Sonny did it? Sonny did it? I've heard monologues, I've seen the side eyes, the memorial service. At this point, look, Jordan got into an accident and Sidwell's like, he was trying to take Jordan from it. Sonny did it.
I'm sorry. It's not gonna be Sonny. It can't, it can't. Everything that goes wrong on earth is not Sonny. I'm so sorry. And at this point, I feel like I thought Britt would come in clutch. She was trying to. But Cassius was like, no, you can't do it. If you get rid of Cullum, where are you gonna get your drugs? She's already told you that she could probably replicate it if she gets the ingredients and gets a sample.
He won't have it. Yeah, Cassius, I am side eyeing him real hard because I'm like, is he the ultimate mastermind behind this? Maybe. He really did turn and flip a switch when kind of confronting Britt where it's like, well, I did this because I realized that I had siblings and I didn't want my sister to die, but you're making it hard for me to root for this kind of collaboration we got going on. Took her back to like Wyndemere.
I'm like, sir, like you really are, are you the evil twin? You must be the evil twin. But he did save her because Sidwell was like, don't need to know more kill her. And he did tap dancing and he got her to be able to live, made her apologize. But again, I don't see the harm in telling Sidwell so we can get off the Sonny train so he knows who to really direct his anger at because this is getting out of hand. True. And also just with Cassius, I'm like, you know, Cullum's in the...
hospital. Could you take him out? Like what do we really need him for except being the head director for WSB? But I feel like he is kind of hot right now. The block is hot. Now that Jason is stuck in WSB. They trying with Jason. He going to be gone for quite some time. At least three months. But with it all, it's like, okay.
how is this ragtag team going to do this cold fusion project? Because there are people who know piece by piece kind of what's going on. And if they really took the time to figure it out, I don't know how much longer that Sidwell really have. I'm talking about from the piers to his side businesses, his legit businesses, the fact that Jordan is out of commission and with his like site set on Sonny.
Something is gonna fall through the cracks and I feel like even trying to keep Laura in line She's starting to fight back to a little bit because he got a little cocky with it. Don't forget
Lucy told Lucy. Well Lucy told her I'm doing a plan to take down Sidwell and get Deception back. What if she was the one that destroyed his empire? That would be crazy. That would be a woman's scorn. That would be it. All because she wanted to date him and she was mad that Ava got him and she's like I'm gonna ruin everything for you then. Sorry guys. Watch it, burn. But now we have another whodunit.
because like you said, Jordan is out of commission. It all happened because of a car accident. They shouldn't have been kissing. She only took her eyes off the road for a second. Well, that was a second too long, wasn't it? Curtis claims that headlights were coming towards them. It could have been because she crossed the line, but we're presuming it's because somebody else crossed the line. So the prime suspects supposedly are Danny and Charlotte just went out for a drive so Danny could clear his head.
You have Isaiah rushing to Lulu's house for a house call because it turns out that Rocco had sepsis because he messed up his hand and wasn't taking care of it properly. Then you have Brook Lynn Brook Lynn was talking to Lucy, as we said prior, and was apparently celebrating and drinking big old glasses of wine. And then she gets a call from Dante telling her that at the open mic night,
Gio and Trina are going to perform So you gotta get over here if you wanna see it and she rushed out. So we have three prime suspects. Those are the ones we know of, but we don't know who did it. That's true. But one thing we do know is Valentin, he is growing on me because through the accident, he actually helped Curtis save Jordan. And Curtis didn't tell.
So I think he has someone aside from Carly now in his corner at least to keep his mouth shut. So that will be interesting. You got a friend indeed. And look, and he really needs a friend because Brennan popped up at Carly's house after the exchanging of, yeah, I like you, want you, you, you, you, vex me. baby, I'm begging, You vex me so. Like this was some Bridgerton type begging.
And then all of sudden Brennan pops up and is like, look, I know you're mad at me because WSB took Jason. I am trying. I am breaking protocols just to figure out information. Just say that you love me, because if you don't, I'll be able to take it, but I will walk away. Well, what did she do? Honeypot trap. When in doubt, offer some sex. So she really did. And then leaving poor Valentin downstairs having a listen.
Not only listen, but while she's doing it, she's looking and thinking of Valentin. I said, ⁓ Carly. It's bad. And then she sends Brennan on his way and Valentin's like, did you have to like it? Did you have to really enjoy yourself? And she's like, what are you jealous? He was like, Hell yeah. You show is right. But we had these kind of setups being like put into place with more dominoes.
and this grand scheme of things, even with the ADA, because when Sidwell confronted her and was like, Sonny did this to Jordan, he's trying to take all my people away. She had to put a phone call, probably gonna be trying to get Sonny to be like, we need to talk. Like, what's going on? Because the people who are at least open to the possibility, no, Sonny probably didn't do this, are like, why would he start a war? It doesn't make sense. This is not his MO, but Sidwell can't see the light.
And then going through all of these other issues going on in Port Charles, you had like little subplots that were there. Willow and poor Drew. Drewfus doesn't usually get my vote of confidence or anything, but at this point, Cameron Mathison shout out for your eye work. I haven't been so just entertained. And it's one of those things, because I was even looking at the eyes like why?
these men's I haven't watched a pair of eyes this closely since the Bengals Walk Like an Egyptian Music video. Like I have just every kind of SOS, every kind of eye roll, everything else. And then he just has to be propped up to the side the way he's doing it. Nina came by to check on Willow, who again is keeping Drew drugged up. And then just telling him about her day. ⁓ I've done great things on Congress.
my god. I'm passing bills. Yes. Making friends. my goodness. It was terrible. And you just see him squinting at her and like, Everything that If I could get up right now. If I could swag a finger, I would. I tell you. ⁓ And then even with like Nina coming over because while Brennan's getting him some, he's still trying to blackmail folks. But we realized that Nina's like,
I told you, kind of called in a favor to get that kind of video footage of you by Drew's house deleted. However, he still wants some information. Don't know how to get it, but she came through with at least threatening to tell Carly that he could have saved Michael, but didn't. And that, and right now he's like, Ooh, don't do that. So yeah.
are in charge of the WSB, there's gotta be a way you can take down the head of Crimson Magazine. Okay? I feel like, Brennan's like that regional manager when like, like. Regional manager. Because it's like WSB went over his head, you have two double agents, like the WSB must not be paying a lot. It really, everyone is willing to flip. You don't have the information you need, you breaking protocol because they keeping you out the loop.
Cullum is doing all of this from a hospital bed. What's going on? And you broke the Cardinal rule as a WSB agent. You never fall in love. I feel like that's like stripper rules too. It is! Actually, that was Pretty Woman hooker rule. Don't kiss! Like, you falling in love. Like, this is terrible. Yep, making you vulnerable. And it really is, and it's showing. But now Willow, feel like is getting antsy though, because with every kind of piece of information she's already heard and like piecing together that Kai kind of knows something that he...
might not need to know. He realizes that they know that she did it because she overheard them. Now it's this whole idea of like, ooh, if Brennan has that video, that wouldn't be good for my congressional seat. She really leaning all up into this. Mind you, Sidwell at any point in time could call her in for a favor because she's at his beckon call because he's supplying her with the drugs to keep Drew immobile. So it's like,
all of this is still swirling, but she's like, well, I did a good thing by helping Brook Lynn and Chase. One good thing. That does not count her. Any of the crap you've already done. She's trying to prove a point and through it all, you still got Portia being Portia.
Well, I love Aunt Stella. Sometimes she'd be overstepping. now they got to decorate the nursery together. I'm like, damn. I'm like, if at this point you'd probably be trying to bring donuts to Portia and be like, could you give a kidney to Jordan? Like, you know, like, I know you got a pregnancy going on, but it's like, I know she wants her family to be all together, but stay in your lane. Fall back a little bit. All right. Now let's end things in LA. they weren't staying in their lane at all.
⁓ Sheila. Sheila. ⁓ Sheila. Sheila. She learned the terrible truth that the only person keeping her sane and from taking lives has decided to take a hike and express his love for Dr. Taylor Hayes. And shockingly, she took it better than anybody would have predicted. Nobody died. Nobody was maimed. She really, really tried to convince Deacon that
you married me for a reason because we loved each other. You telling me you don't love me no more? And Deacon was like, that's what I'm telling you. You don't love, don't live here anymore. He was like, I tried, but you lied. You lied not once, but twice. I told you Luna killing my best friend sucked. And you were like, okay, I'm sorry. If anything else happens, I will make sure not to help Luna again. And you turned around and you did it again.
And he was like, and then you told me, you told me to go to Taylor. I ain't know I was going to fall for her, but that's why I did. And he fall in it too, my goodness. And then he fell off on the balcony. Like it was a whole mess. A lot of falling. But then we had this ridiculous scene with Sheila with a pizza cutter. And I have eaten many a pizza and anytime I've ordered one, they did not bring me any pizza cutter. It was already cut. And then they had this.
bizarre, like she was attacking Taylor, but then she licked it. I was like, she's not a cannibal, don't think. The shadow work, it was a little cheesy, but again, soap operas, sometimes I allow it. But it's also this idea where they keep trying to tell me I need to be in fear of Sheila, but they keep forgetting that I'm kind of rooting for her. She is in the right this one time where I wouldn't have minded her flipping a table.
Like this could have been her moment where it's like she considers Taylor her best friend, but you also need to confront your man. This is where some well-placed soap slaps could have gone a long way for me. Absolutely. But who I would love to slap would be Deacon's children. Because the fact that they were like, ⁓ this has gotten out of hand. Maybe we shouldn't have encouraged it. Steffy has told you time and time again that-
His wife is nuts. Tried to kill her, tried to kill her own son, and you two insisted on Deacon going with his heart. But then you hear the story of her trying to save Taylor by busting in on Deacon and Taylor having sex with a knife and you're like, whoa, this is, maybe we shouldn't have. No, you shouldn't have. And if anybody gets killed, I'm blaming you too.
As I would too because again, Look, they try to make me hate Stephanie and I will not. I mean, again, this is another situation where the woman was shot by her mother-in-law. Maybe she has a reason to be fearful. The way that she's going about it, I thought she was going to kick Taylor out. I wouldn't have minded it. Honestly, after all you put your daughter through with this mess.
If love is that important to you, you don't need to be here. Don't bring it here. You are a well renowned psychiatrist. You ain't got no money to pay rent or buy a home. Get out of my house. She gotta go somewhere else. Don't bring this crazy. Crazy to the doorstep and then had the audacity to go over to Deacon's house and cuddle on the couch. Again, She left with no luggage. She still got a key.
And not only that she's watching y'all through the window so you didn't even close the blinds. And then she gave this look to me it felt like a snap like and I'm crazy again. It's coming. The woman has eight toes and she's gonna stand eight toes down. Why are you all pushing the killer to kill? And not being kind of concerned about this like we didn't even have them
stepping up or ramping up security. We didn't have them kind of calling a phone, like family meeting. Nobody has told Katie, like we just. We don't care about the Logans apparently. This is so much where even Brooke is like, ⁓ no. Sheila. Well, and I'm like, well, maybe if you didn't steal her man. And then you have Ridge being like, maybe if I didn't leave Taylor, she wouldn't have stooped this low, you think? Maybe if I had to left Taylor for the 38th time.
she wouldn't have come to And Sheila made a good point. She was like, Taylor loves you for the man you are now. She's like, I loved you when you were just a man with a dream. I helped you build this. So even if she were to divorce you, like she needs to get something. Is it like California? It's a half life. She about to be owning Il Giardino. Yes she will. Forget your beach bar dreams at this point. And through it all,
Sheila still has her clothes in the closet. You didn't ask for the key back and you aren't probably smart enough to change a lock. She gonna fight for this love. And she will be within her right. Well, okay. And unfortunately with her behaving so well, these idiots will let their guard down. Steffy won't, but the rest will, which will make it easier for her to massacre Malibu. And then speaking of Malibu too, Electra, baby I'm still concerned.
I don't know if Ivy is your mama or your aunt. But she acting like your mama. And she's too invested. Way too invested. And I'm looking forward to as we move into next week, completely forgot about House of Logan. I surely did. Until I saw the previews for this week, I was like, oh damn, we had a fashion war, my bad. And then we got that, and then we got cousin on cousin brawl, because RJ will finally come to a fisticuffs, and I'm here for to be a beat down.
which we kind of expected long ago, but Will, it takes a lot to rile Will up apparently. Yeah, I'm about to say, he's like, you don't like me when I'm angry. And apparently we won't. And then finally, we also have Daphne telling Electra about the letter because we saw the Ivy, where's my letter? Like girl, where have you been? This is- Daphne been trying to get pregnant every seven seconds. So that's what it was. That's true. But we'll see how this continues to progress. ⁓ yes.
So that concludes this week's episode of Lather Up with La. And Chanelle. Keep listening, because we do this for who? We do this for you. Every week.
