Let's start off with some news First off, drum roll please. Beyond the Gates has been renewed for not just a third, no, no, but a fourth. What? Season. Yay! As we said last week, don't play with us, CBS.

You better keep them because people want to know what's going on at Fairmont Crest. And now we get to travel this journey with them for two more seasons. Thank goodness. Congratulations to the cast crew and all them. You've earned it.

we love the show. So, so happy that it's sticking around. Yes, and more characters actually coming. Yes! As a matter of fact, one that soap fans know, Dr. Bridget from Bold and the Beautiful will be coming to Beyond the Gates. Now, for me, logically, you would have Dr. Bridget Forrester.

be working at Garland as Dr. Bridget Forrester so we can do crossovers and it'll be easier for her to go back and forth between soaps. They have not revealed what Ashley Jones' character will be, but in my mind, just let her be Bridget. I also want to see her shine because sometimes Bridget, they put Baby in a corner and when you have her boxed in as a new character, who could she be? Is she the Impaler?

Is she Joey's sister? Is she Vanessa's sister? My theory is if you're not gonna let her be Bridget, you'll have to age her a little bit. But maybe she is Dr. Madison Montgomery's crazy mom that caused all the chaos online. now that would be a plot twist. Wouldn't it? All right, Ebony and Ivory. We also have coming in May an addition to General Hospital.

Jonathan Bennett, who many would remember as Aaron from Mean Girls, the movie, will be joining Port Charles as Dr. Joe Fitzgerald. I don't know who this doctor is, but look for him to come and May. Look, as long as he's not coming back from the dead, welcome to Port Charles General Hospital. goodness. we got some happy birthdays. Yes, I just wanted to shout out some of these Aries women making an impact in my life.

like the Melody Thomas Scott, the goat from Young and the Restless. Newman, happy belated birthday, April 18th. And she actually shares it with Tamara Braun, who plays Sienna Bacall on Young and the Restless. And then my queen, my queen, Jacqueline Wood. She also sold a break that, yeah, she's selling hers April 17th. And I was like, ⁓ are these fiery, passionate rams?

⁓ the women of Soaps all sharing birthdays around the same time? Yes. it. All right, let's begin in the DMV, Beyond the Gates. We have awesome news. Miss Anita has been going through it with her chemo and all her pain and suffering has paid off. The tumor has shrunk. She has two more sessions and then they'll see.

what's next, but she is improving. So the red devil did not take her down. I'm just happy. two more rounds of chemo and then we can truly get the story moving. I think that whole plot line, it broke our hearts. We've been on this journey with Miss Anita, the good, the bad, and the ugly. And now that we are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, I'm just so excited about the possibilities.

This might be where we finally get the Articulettes back together, going in the studio, having a reason to maybe travel to Wisconsin and dare I say, Devon and the people from Genoa City coming to Fairmont Crest. Ooh, the crossover. But don't take your guard down yet because there was a moment that Vernon took Dr. Montgomery aside and was like, I'm having some...

you know, memory issues and stuff. I'm under the impression that it's emotional. I'm hoping it's not neurological, but it just proves that you can never rest. we could get a Miss Anita over the hump and then turn around and have to worry about Mr. Vernon. So hopefully now that she is settling his mind and you know, memory lapses and stuff will settle as well.

That's true. I definitely don't want this back to back medical emergency storylines where you're dealing with health conditions with them aging or just them being in the loop. I really want to have a moment where we can just breathe and enjoy their love story. Let them go to New Orleans. Let them actually get ready and help Martin with his campaign. I just need something to get me over the emotional roller coaster.

And there has been a lot of rumbling. Some people say that Michele Val Jean can't write. That's a lie. Absolutely now. We gotta at least nip that in the bud. It's not that she can't write, but as I've said previously, we are in the age of a post-Shonda Rhimes TGIT moment. And I think with the storylines and people facing consequences, and even as viewers, when we're watching, everything that is said, every look that is given, every movement,

that seems suspicious. We're trying to read that into the storylines. And sometimes it just seems like it falls flat or we forget about it. But I'm here for the journey because I love the experience. if you're a true soap watcher, you know, store this. Remember this because it may pop up later. None of the storylines can be solved in a week.

or else you wouldn't have any stories. So just be patient. I feel that we have gracefully progressed. So I'm behind it 100%. She's doing a great job and two more seasons. Obviously she's not doing that bad, huh? Yeah. Or at least feel like we never might get our justice for Laura. But if not, at least now we have Izaiah's and Jacob's mom knowing that, hey,

We know you are attempted murderer and we just gonna have to accept that. Speaking of Jacob, this man has not been doing the undercover brother thing right. He got his butt beat because he keeps changing up. He's had Grayson change the drop off points. He got caught by Lia the chief of staff and she called in and was like, get your boy. He's making moves. Somebody who's an underling doesn't have that kind of power.

If he doesn't toe the line, get rid of him. So the guy she called met up with Jacob and Jacob thinks he's doing a great job being Rashad. And then this guy's like, you don't make any changes without my knowledge. Let me make sure you remember that. Beat him, messed up his ribs. He was limping. And then, Chanelle's favorite, he made a booty call before he got beat up to have Naomi come back to that.

Motel Hotel Holiday Inn. And she sees him battered and bruised and is like, this is what I'm talking about. You were not meant for this. You need to tap out. And he's like, I'm too close. I'm all, but like he had like the Impaler like 10 seconds away from hand cuffs. We don't even know who it is. True. I feel like this is don't go chasing waterfalls. Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to. I've been saying this for how many weeks

think Jacob, while this is his first undercover operation, he's just too overzealous. And this whole thing of like, I am the captain now. Sir, aside from telling Smitty who just swore up and down that he would not be caught, and sure enough, he was caught, ⁓ right now, he is trying to get by with the fact that they don't know it was him specifically, but you left your paper trail. And the fact that you were like, no, we're good.

I covered my tracks and the first thing Nicole does is log on. It's like, hmm, I'm never in this portal for the hospital. I've been hacked. Really? Like, sir, you at least could have done that. And then you see Naomi there. You get caught by Naomi talking about, I was stopping by for cotillion stuff. You didn't write the note. I'm still concerned the fact that Dr. Nicole just had her password chilling on a post-it somewhere hidden. ⁓

But I feel like with Jacob, all of these things are lining up and you would think that would be further along. But even when he's trying to do the right thing, like tell his dad, this is so far the information that we've got. Chief Hawthorne brings in the dirty cop Malone to come in and directly ask Lia, does she know what's going on? Crazy work, And I feel like with these upcoming previews.

I know our listeners in Canada and some other places might be further along, but it looks like Grayson gets stabbed. Yes. I would probably Jacob's fault with all the. I would definitely probably blame Jacob on this. It's like for the person who's been like, I'm the boss. Are you though? Can you please fall the line? Can you be a little bit more discreet at this point?

I give up on the glasses situation. Just go back to doing what you need to do to get it done. Who is the impaler? I haven't seen a plasma bag yet. Not once. Ugh. We also have the Lynette situation taking a turn. So she tells Hayley. I will leave if you give me millions of dollars. And Hayley is like, I will give you millions of dollars if you leave and never return to the DMV. They shook on it.

All in Hayley's mind was well until less than 24 hours later, she hears that Lynette is talking to Vanessa about getting a penthouse in the DC area. So Hayley goes running to cuz Randy and he's like, I'll handle it. He meets up with Lynette, tells her that he just realized that Hayley was not just playing Lynette, but playing him. And so he's like, we need to team up and we can take her down. She's promised $10 million if we get rid of

Bill so that money can be ours. So they make out and do what they do. Sexy time. Then they were going to look for, a bed for her new place, hint, hint, And then the next thing we know, Hayley gets a call from Randy. She goes and meets him at Uptown and he tells her that Lynette is no more. Now, everybody knows Randy's track record is not stellar.

He can't kill nobody. He is sloppy. Joey has figured out half the things that he's done before he does them. So for me to believe that he took care of Lynette and she's actually dead, I have expected her to walk in to Uptown the moment that Hayley was celebrating her demise. Randy, you know how I feel about Randy.

Bless his heart. Ever since that gun jammed and he ran from the DMV to where was he trying to go? Bali or somewhere. And just came back. And just gave up after he stole the money. My faith in Randy, we do not trust. Lynette ain't dead. Lynette ain't gone. And if she is, then it's like, well, why'd you do that, Randy? Because you already know that the block was hot and Joey and Vanessa most likely would look for her.

And if that's not the case, even Bill was suspicious of her. So it's not like we need a body just popping up randomly now, Randy. So I wish if you were to do something, I don't know, maybe use the poison that you've given Hayley that has basically made Bill stronger. Or, I don't know, set her up. Try to get her to back off in some other way, or maybe just have her chained in your basement at this point.

I just don't trust the fact that he texted on her phone to tell Vanessa, change my mind, leave the DMV, leave me alone. And he's like, we're good. Randy, my boy, you know how I feel about you. He's sloppy. I worry so much. And when he says it's handled, Olivia Pope, you are not. Just not. Yeah. She, Lynette gonna pop up. You watch.

Dani and Bill are talking on the phone and I think Dani was telling all about the good news about Miss Anita and some other stuff She was talking to Bill with and he was like, okay, baby I'm sorry what? Didn't even check himself. No, but everybody around heard it. Naomi was having breakfast with

Hayley and Bill and she heard it. Hayley definitely heard it. And I think Dani did too, but she chose to just tuck it away. Let it slide. Yes. And then it got back to Andre because Naomi confronts Dani. She's like, you know, dad called you baby on the phone. Like what is going on? And Andre was like, I'm sorry. What's that? He acted like he wasn't happy. And probably in the back of his mind, it does make him uneasy, but

He's like, he can still long for her if he wants to, but she mine now, so. Yeah, and I give Dani credit because she played along, she's like, what? No. He didn't say that. Forced a habit. You know, we were married. So it's not like she's like, who told you? No, I'm so glad they stopped with the kisses and the secret rendezvous. Yes. Because she has been glowing.

Very much so. I don't know if it's just the sex. I don't know if it's just the fact that she's on cloud nine that Miss Anita is doing better But Dani has come a long way from Dani Oakley pistol poppin' Angry, why did I get married type woman and she's calmed down. Very much. And that's also thanks to Andre. Absolutely. So at this point, let's keep him around please. Please. Who also

acted right. above and beyond. So it was Kat and it's coming up on Eva's birthday. And Kat got surprised by her family at Uptown and she got a lovely piece of jewelry from Nomas as opposed to the rope bracelet that Eva got from the hobosexual that is Izaiah

Martin was gonna tell Kat that Miss Anita had greatly improved with her cancer treatment. Instead, in her exit stage left, she's like, by the way, I'm happy that Miss Anita's okay. And she was like, I'm sorry? Yep, that was Eva. Yep. And so she was so ecstatic by this news that Kat was like, there's plenty of cake to go around and it is Kat Day, so.

you can stay. And everybody was like, what? But I was like, that's how Kat is. Now mind you, the next day, maybe she was a little over flirty with Izaiah

when Eva came, but Eva was overzealous with her love for Izaiah, just to, know, tit for Kat. but I thought that was very magnanimous of her letting her stay for the birthday celebration. Yeah, I'm about to say, Kitty Kat, she put the claws away. And like I always like a good scripture, the Lord prepared a table in front of her enemy. And at this point, I feel like she let her eat cake, if you will.

And with that also comes Tomas is growing on me that backbone after getting berated by Bill. Look at that alliteration. He actually is doing a lot better even with the gifts.

The idea that just the love that he's showing and you know, and I almost forgotten what he gave her that calculator charm. Yeah, that was from last year. We were little iffy were like we know he says he's a lawyer, but that gift, however, this time full circle delivered doing what he needs to do. And the fact that he brought it up and he was like, because I believe in you, baby, that's that's why you got that charm.

gold calculator and everything. So look at you. Fenmore's and Chelsea Kat, this collaboration, They also had like, what was it, Tokyo or whatever? Yeah, apparently they will be big in Japan and I'm here for it a little bit. Look, Arigatos and all these other things. said, look at, even Chelsea was brought along. I said, she said, I'm going to be here for this moment, but saw them in their business mode. And so I'm proud of them.

And when it comes to Kat, whether it's just the business, even doing better with talking to Ted, there's moments of her growth. And I'd like to see her in a storyline that makes sense. Hell, at this point, maybe she needs to go and help Jacob. So badly. Katlock was on the case and she's gotten a lot more done with figuring out Lynette and Hayley and all that stuff than we have with the impaler storyline. She was the one who found her own cousin. So I would trust her to solve whatever crime that's coming law enforcement. I know you were just joking with

with Izaiah, but you might be a part of the Hawthorns too. For who knows? Yes. But I will say when it comes to Izaiah and also Deliver Us from Eva, we called it Leslie. Not satisfied with the gift. We knew this was going to be this bracelet made from the napkin, from the...

one time they enjoyed their first date at Winterfest and the combination of why he made a bracelet but has no diamonds or anything else of real extravagance in this as Leslie called it a pre-gift. Obviously that's the starter, right? No, it's the gift. What? She was very displeased. She is no longer team Izaiah after the run-in with his mama.

And the gift did not help. That's true. But I also feel like this is going to be Eva's wake up call because as we've said, and many people now that she realized probably think people think you're kind of like your mama. And even though you might not bear the brunt of all of the things that Leslie's done, here's what I'm envisioning. It feels like

Leslie and Lia had a terrible exchange and they both know Mr. Malone. What is the possibility that Lia sets up Leslie with her clinic with the impaler stuff? I wouldn't put it past her. Lia is gangster.

I appreciate Lia. Look, I like women in male dominated fields. And now that we know she's not the most higher up senior official in this ring. there are people above her. It's above her now. We know as one of the middle women closest to the top, she could do it. I'm just afraid of what will happen when she finds out.

how many people are involved or snooping around. Because like you said, Malone has already told her, unfortunately, because Jacob told Chief Hawthorne, who told Malone to investigate it, and his first thing was like, Dr. Lia, she's good people. Yeah, good and criminal like you, sir. So, couldn't trust that too much. A den of thieves! But I also like seeing just the interactions because we're seeing her around and about. And it also goes to show,

she be staying on top of Ashley. Like she be getting her. She can't stand her. And at this point, I believe it goes beyond just gracing. It's like she's going to take it out on her. The fact that we know that she has her own kind of police ties because she kept the hack or breach under wraps because it's off the books, according to her. But she still told Malone, she told Nicole that no police will be involved. And then the next thing you know, Nicole gets interrogated by Malone. And she's like, that's not.

That's like family. That's just my boy. He's a friend. those were some of the other things that were making it work because I'm like, it keeps me invested. I just need that story progression to keep on going. I also have to say that I'm thankful that Vanessa came to a bit of her senses and went back to talk to Nicole one more time and they made up because as we've stressed, woman to woman friendships are essential.

and it's beyond family. Yes. And unfortunately they're not ⁓ glorified enough on Soaps. So I'm glad that they came to like, she was like, no more double dates. I will try to support you. But if you are ever in danger, you are to let somebody you trust know or contact me or Dani because I'm still scared for you. So she told her truth, but she was like, you're still my girl. But

I was under the impression that they've known each other for years, but it looked like from the flashback that maybe Vanessa lived outside the gates and knew of, or like maybe in passing in high schools or something, they knew each other, but they didn't become fast friends until they went to a similar fundraiser or something at the club. And Vanessa was looking for a cigarette, Nicole was just looking for a breather, and they both realized they both...

were bored by the same functions that they went to and it flew from there. Good friendship and a great little flashback. So I liked it. And at this point, Vanessa needs all the friends she can have cause Deanna was staying on top of her mama and Joey, the boldness of her daughter. Talk about the audacity of hope. Like the fact that Deanna went up to Joey was like, I still don't like you, at the end of the day,

Were you sleeping with my mama when my dad was alive? And I'm like, girl, she has no. You pushing the killer, you know who I say about you put. Why are you trying to antagonize the person you think is big and bad and you talking about his reputation? She's just young and dumb. You were in danger, girl, and you don't even know how close you were to it. my gosh.

But again, Beyond the Gates, well done. All the other different storylines, the small moments. Look, even Nicole and Ted, the flowers shared because it was Kat's birthday. And they finally are recognizing her as the miracle baby that she was to them. Now, if you could just treat her like her aunt and uncle do, maybe we would understand that you do love your daughter.

But I'm excited to see where it keeps going into next week. Of course now let's go to Genoa City

Where Nick has been snatched by Matt Clark then Matt Clark finally is face to face with Adam and He informs Adam. Chelsea also has stopped by in Vegas. Yes didn't tell nobody just took the jet and came on over because she's had a Premonition. I'm like, is this Passions? She has had visions And her vision tells her that there's trouble in them. They'll hills so she comes

And Matt comes with Riza and he informs them that, ooh, Nick kinda overdosed and died, sorry. And it's like, he's so, he's so- Nonchalant. Yes, he's so Matt the way he is. It's like, oopsie, he's dead. Like, what? And of course, Chelsea and Adam do not believe, so he's like, fine. But he is dead now. I'll show you the body.

So he takes Adam and they, because they're so awful at this, nobody goes with them. Chelsea doesn't tail them. As Chanelle suggested, there was no Apple tag, like nothing. They go, he shows Adam Nick is unconscious, looking dead on the floor in the hotel storage room. And while Adam is like, Nick, Nick kabong, Matt hits.

Adam over the head with a fire extinguisher and knocks him out and both Newman brothers sprawled out on that floor, locked in. So we have kidnapped two men of the Newman family in less than a day. Josh, what did I tell you about the kidnappings, my guy? I'm gonna start looking at chat GPT writing these stories because...

What in the world? If this is what AI has brought us to, where almost everybody from Young and the Restless is going to get kidnapped in some way, shape or form, I don't think I want this. And all of this just to say that we've been in Vegas for so long just for Matt Clark to get the upper hand like this, because he has been checking for them since they stepped foot in Sin City. What was the plan?

What was truly the plan of trying to find them? We're not even going to talk about the fact that once Chelsea popped up, Adam, AKA Spider, was waiting for Riza and was like, opening the door ready. So you've been making out with this woman for so long just for her to be like, Matt Clark? No, I mean, I know Mitch Bacall, but... then his only Ronnie. you what is this?

All these kisses were for nothing because by the time you got kidnapped, who did you call? Chelsea. And she put on her cape and sniffed them out and found them and got them out. Meanwhile, we finally have Nick waking up. He is strung out because Matt gave him that good good. And Adam is like, is this your first hit? And groggily, Nick is like, yeah. Like, this is so new to me.

And so of course both of their phones are gone, but Adam finds a telephone that happens to be in the storage room and he calls Chelsea's phone trying to help her figure out where they are. And in that process, Nick just looks over his shoulder and there is a pile of pills in little Ziploc bags plus some more party favor powder. And he snatches them up and puts them in his pocket.

while Adam has his back turned. And then he comes back to the room after Chelsea rescues them and he is walking in the stuff and he's just bad off. I just need some water to splash on my face. Meanwhile, he goes into the bathroom and unloads all the pills he just took. Jackpot. Yes, and takes another hit and comes out, I'm ready to go. And they're like, what is happening? My favorite is Chelsea is like, should we take you to the hospital?

Nah, it'll come out of my system. How do you know if this is your first time, Again, where was the food? Where was the water? Like Nick, narcotics Nick, you truly have been and the fact that it took one look for Matt to be like, you strung out on that stuff. Everybody else has been like tap dancing around like, Nick, you don't look too good. Ooh, you really sweating. Where'd that limp go? Meanwhile, all of this is happening and Chelsea.

I feel like it's our female intuition is like, let's call Sharon and let her know that we are okay. No, let's not do that. Nick, you have been gone for almost 24 hours. what? Okay. Meanwhile, Matt Clark most likely is the one texting Sharon because he stole the phone. There you go. Saying, you know, we got Matt come out here and help us in Sharon and Noah.

Hop in the car, not even on a plane, mind you, which is again, weird because Wisconsin to Nevada, how far is that? But while they're in finding the location, we get stopped outside of this like deserted gas station or something. And the preview for this coming week is, should we go in? Have you never seen a horror movie? Look, Scooby Doo or something. No! Or I don't know, maybe call Chelsea before you gut.

outside of an abandoned gas station that was just mysteriously sent to you. Also, if I were Chelsea, I'm not asking permission anymore. I saved both of y'all's butts. I'm texting Sharon right now. Hey, Matt took Adam and Nick. I saved them. If you get any text that's not from me or a phone call that's not from my number, be concerned and avoid it because it's most likely Matt Clark. Look, I am the How about the dead tape?

I am the captain. How long did that take? Like 10 seconds? Instead you're going to ask permission from these two idiots. It's the talking for me. It's the kidnapping. Let's move past this. And as we talk about moving past things, Devon cannot move past the fact that, again, kidnapped. Yep. Mariah, we thought was getting better as she did her treatments in her mental facility. Well, unfortunately, it's Devon taking control without checking everything.

him and Abby did discuss that their displeasure and the fact that, and I'm with them on this, they should have been notified that a plea deal was on the table and pretty much a done deal. They weren't even asked to come to the hearing. It was just Christine and Sharon and Mariah. Why were the parents who were victimized not allowed to be a part of this? know, Dom didn't say his piece. mean, it's So yes, they should be upset, but it's already been done, but

You forget Devon is richy rich. He was like, nah, it's not done done. He goes file some paperwork and wants the plea deal reassessed and possibly put her in prison. And while he's doing this, we forget sometimes while they're not blood related, this is still kind of like Newman family adjacent matters. Like you don't want to have to talk to Mariah cool, but.

Sharon and Nicholas and the family as a whole. Mariah is part of that family. Like she would probably be around for Thanksgiving, Christmas dinner. We couldn't have maybe talked to the family first. And then when you see Sharon and Cricket come through and he's like, no, no, we're not going to discuss it. I know what you're here for. Maybe just to get some insight. Was it a, you know, done deal? Yeah, you were done wrong.

But to be like prison is what she needs. Yes, Dom had a bad dream. Yes, Dom might have some lingering effects later in life, but we know that Mariah has not been well. What is this going to serve? And honestly, you weren't paying attention to her before, the fact that all of this came out of the blue to you all, she's not well? Like it's been going on for a while. my God, she's divorced. ⁓ Tessa? Like y'all didn't know a lot.

A lot. And the same breath, it's like, of course we're thankful that Mariah is the reason that we have Dom. Of course we love her, but she need to be behind bars. I'm like, you need to pick a lane. Like, she's probably going to be in the psychiatric hospital for a minute. So I wouldn't be too concerned. And maybe you all should keep a better eye on that boy. You live on a mansion, cameras, stuff like that. Let's have better security. That was all I'm saying. That would definitely be helpful. And with Mariah being

probably locked up for quite some time Tessa, Tessa went from like, let's go to Barcelona to being like, maybe I should fall back because even though she didn't want me to take her to her new living arrangement, I just want to be on call as if a cell phone couldn't work internationally. Okay. Or as if she's going to be getting, getting out this week. part. But

Tessa felt bad and then she was like, you have poor Daniel being like, is it because you're afraid to be alone with me? She's like, yeah, it's a little bit of that. I don't again, hobosexual, sexual tension. just, okay, you two. It was a good song. You might be a bop if you will. But when Danny gave them that opportunity, I thought it at least be a possibility that she might get back in the music game or

find her zest for life again, to be the one to kind of push Daniel and be like, let's do it, and then be like, ooh, hold off. Don't give me this whiplash. Like, are you gonna be with Mariah or not? You can hold her down, but you don't have to be like love after lockup and just like, your life on hold. It's more to that than there. I mean, you were already gonna leave Mariah anyway. You can still support her and not be married to her. That's all I'm saying.

Or at least find some other way to make it work because all the other couples right now in Genoa City between Jack and Diane and Nikki and Victor, this whole breakup to makeup thing, I'm like after a certain age in life, what has one frolic gone wrong? What is one man that you married and knew who he was? It's like, are we going through this? This is the love triangles and issues that we're dealing with.

Patty Williams has come and gone. I have not seen Patty since she put it on Jack after she kind of rubbed it in Diane's face. was like, you live in that athletic club. the storyline is not giving the story that I thought it would do for progression. I done told you Jack needs to send them divorce papers. I can beg, but only so long. I've tried it, tried it. If you aren't even going to try to talk to him, then why mess with him anymore? You are not getting any younger.
