Hello, hello. Welcome back. This is Lather Up with La. And Chanelle. Happy Mother's Day to all the muthas out there. And the mom figures. So in news today, we got a temporary Jill Abbott. The original Jill Abbott, Jess Walton, apparently will not be able to come back to fulfill her role in Genoa City due to traveling conflicts from her home in Oregon to LA.

So instead we're going to start seeing Days of Our Lives star Lauren Koslow and she will fill in as Jill Abbott for five episodes starting on June 25th. And there's been some change up at the head of Young and the Restless. Would you like to share that with us, Chanelle?

OK. And he is stepping down as executive producer of the Young and the Restless. But he's not going too far, because right now, his position is solely head writer. What it is is you're no longer in the trenches doing the day-to-day stuff. You're more administrative. Your creativity is more sporadic. And it's more organizational and

what should go where, when, with whom. it's, like I said, it's a lot more administrative. And I'm under the impression that Josh must've felt that it was probably stifling his creativity and it's more big picturey. And I think he wants to get back into the nuances of developing the characters So.

He might just feel better, being the head writer as opposed to being the one that oversees everything. So, if it'll give us less kidnappings and more actual profound storylines, like, I mean, this week wasn't the worst, but hopefully signs of better stories to come in Genoa City.

Good for him. No, I give him credit for this week. I mean, it takes a big man to be like, I need to step back and do something a little less supervisory. So if it works for him and it works for the viewers, that's all I care about. All right, but this week we gonna start in Port Charles, cause they came out like gangbusters on Monday. We got Brennan.

raging mad got to know who is Carly cheating on him with and he's busted in the door. He's Busted into Carly's bedroom. Luckily Valentin is very spry and he got out the bed but he left Carly there to pick up the pieces and you know Brennan is demanding answers and how could you do this and I've fallen in love with you and all of a sudden Valentin is behind him because Carly's like

He's why and he has a gun And of course, Brennan is mortified because he's been looking for this man high and low and he has been above his nose in the attic all this time in his lover's home. And Valentin was like, you put me in, you know, the black ops jail and you tried to kill Carly. Did you really think she was falling in love with you? And he's like,

Our love was real. I know it was. You can't tell me that you hadn't fallen for me. She was like, I did in the beginning, but then you recruited my daughter and turned her into a murderer and a spy. And how am I ever going to forgive that? So he's depleted and he's like, I'm going to put y'all both in jail. Cause of course a scorned man with that supposed power is going to come at them. And Valentin's like, I don't think that's going to happen. Let me tell you why. Because

I'm gonna tell Cullum and he has been using you as a puppet for so long, he's probably gonna kill you himself. So you really wanna take that route or do you wanna help us take him down? And Brennan is still scarred by this whole situation, but he seems to have taken Valentin at his word for now. But in my head, I was like, doesn't mean he's gonna follow any.

Particular situation because he got attacked by accident after he got attacked by Valentin Nina summon him because she Wants desperately to have something on Drew because I think she is trying to make Willow see that entrapping him in his own body is I don't know wrong and she's gonna have to come up with a scenario

that Drew was doing her so badly that she had no other choice or something of that caliber. And so Brennan comes over and he's like, I ain't got time for you. I got my own mess to deal with. And she's like, we've had an agreement. You need to help me find something on Drew. He's like, I don't really have time for that. And so Valentin again has already called Nina because he was going to have her help them with Brennan.

and he comes over again, gets the drop on, Brennan it again with a gun. WSB. And then they get into a physical fight and the gun drops and instead of trying to pick it up, Nina is just in the corner with, the scary movie face and the hands on her face. No, Stop the fighting. Meanwhile, we got Blinky McBlinkerson in the room because he was supposed to get his shot.

because Willow had stuff to do. She's trying to get this WSB funding to hold over Brennan's head. And she was with Kai and she was like, mom, I just need you to this shot again. I'm busy. And Nina, she's like, stop looking at me when you, well, he ain't got nothing else to do but look and breathe. And look me in the eye when you inject this poison into my arm. Hello. And so he is.

Sitting there, she gets distracted by Brennan coming over and she knows that Valentin is on his way as well. she wasn't able to give him his shot. And so she hides it under a toy. And in the middle of the fighting, she thinks that she's going to take down Valentin. Instead, Valentin pushes Brennan towards her and she stabs him with what? The paralyzing stroke inducing stuff.

So he'd been hit with the syringe. They're going to have to figure out what to do with him. Move the body. Right! It was chaos. So that was funny, but it wasn't the only revelation this past week. Unfortunately, Dante and Elizabeth discovered some interesting information. Again, weeks upon weeks of being like Dante is the only one not in inner circle of trust.

We finally have the revelation that between Dante collecting Cullum's blood and getting the gun tested and Elizabeth and all of her knowledge of what really went down with helping Rocco bandage his hand that, hmm, it was probably him who shot Cullum. Why? Because He was worried about Britt

But what kills me is, like you said, how can the head of the GCPD be so in the dark about so much? And he saw that his son was injured and he know Lulu don't cook and he knows that Rocco don't cook. So for them to have been cooking together and he slices his hand, he knew it didn't make sense when they said it. What was it called that he had to investigate? A... ⁓

think it's called a slide bite, I think. I was thinking that basically because he's a novice shooter, the fact that his skin or hand got pinched in the gun, I'm glad he realized Dante was saying Jason is professional. He already has his own mess to deal with because he done put Joss in the former jail thing that they had Anna in before on Spoon Island.

And Joss is like, what is happening? She's still convinced it's Nathan, which I thought was ridiculous because wasn't she suspicious of was it  Nathan in the first place, she's under the impression that Nathan quote unquote had something wrong with his mind. Like he was, I presume. presume she's thinking he was done like Dante, like his mind was messed up. She was like, we can get you help. Which cracks me up because if you think the WSB made him into a sleeper cell, why would you say the WSB can help him get right?

You know how I feel about spy Joss. I know you're not a fan. And that also goes with not only getting kidnapped and being held hostage, but the fight, the fight itself. We kicked off here, you have Brennan busting into Carly's bedroom. Meanwhile, Joss, who should have gone to the Savoy to basically be the great spy that she is and still maintain the role of a college student. But no, no, no. She wanted to go do some more investigative work.

and ends up seeing Nathan, AKA Cassius, being at her front door. He doesn't even play games, because he grabs her after a while and is like, I can't let you go. She started off good. A few kicks, a few slaps, maybe a punch or two. But where she messed up is, one, when you finally get him down on the ground, you've been to just a training when it comes to security. You got to keep them down on the ground. She let him get up.

Meanwhile, she ran to the kitchen to get a butcher knife and didn't do nothing with it. He was able to knock it out within a I said, girl, you don't have an extra gun lying in a place that... You could have had a gun on you. Why was it not on your ankle? She shouldn't have watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Like, what is going on? And so with that, he basically put her in a sleeper hole. He did, knocked her right out.

So the fact that no one really knows where she is, because she has been MIA from daily college life, even her roommate, Trina's like, she probably fell asleep at the library. That's sometimes what she does. We do it, exam time, whatever. The only one who at least raised somewhat of an alarm was Carly. But she's thinking it's because Brennan was mad at her for revealing her.

truth, right, to actually try to kidnap Joss. He's like, I don't know where she is, but you might need my help, Valentin. This all before he becomes paralyzed himself. So I just don't know how we are going to get ourselves out of this. And right now I just wish that Joss was a little bit smarter in her spy skills. One, you wound up Brennan to go looking for your mother. Cheap move.

Even as a spy, like you could have held on to that information a little bit longer. ⁓ Now you haven't even left any bread crumbs. You haven't told anyone else about your theory about Nathan, AKA Cassius. And now that he knows, no one's looking for you. You are supposed to be a sleeper agent. So it's not like Brennan really was gonna be looking for you to begin with. And no one really has an idea. I...

Elizabeth goes to Laura's like, can you check on Jake from time to time? I'm going to be gone for a long weekend with Rick. Laura pulls Rick in and is like, dog, you are hanging out with Elizabeth too much knowing what you know about what is being hung over Sonny and my head regarding Dalton's murder. So I don't know if he was doing something to help Sonny or if he was still doing something to hurt Sonny, but either way, gun is drawn on him and that's how it ended on Friday. You really did have a lot of explaining to do because

He lied. Lying to your brother thinking he wouldn't be able to fact check his crazy work because he said he was meeting with, the district attorney's office. Right. And all Sonny had to do was call up ADA and was like, hey, did someone on the docket have Rick doing something? She was like, no. Case closed. And Rick knows that he's been.

Hello. Doing a little something, something with her. is definitely more than just a friend. So of course he could go straight to her and ask her anything. So the lie was flimsy at best to begin with. Yes. And also again, Ethan, who will never be up to Jason's standards, if you're going to spy on somebody, I needed some surveillance equipment with an audio detection because then it's like, well, what did they say? He said I wasn't close enough to hear. Then sir, you basically, other than snapping a picture, like.

We could be planning a birthday party. We could be doing espionage. Like, who knows? Because you weren't close enough to here. Get out my face. So he already had his own issues because we learned that he knew Delilah Wilson, the woman that Chase and Brook Lynn found in that park, unconscious. Eventually she had to have her baby.

She died in childbirth and at the same time, this past week, we learned that she was supposed to be meeting up with Ethan. He's like calling her, leaving her messages. We said we were meeting such and such important Charles. He even told Traci that he was supposed to meet somebody and she never showed up. Well, while he's there visiting with Traci, she gets a call about her horse, Hades, leaves the room.

Brook Lynn and Chase walk in after deciding that they do, shock and awe, want Phoebe for their own. We knew it. We all knew it. So they come in with the little girl. She's adorbs. And Ethan was like, who is this darling little person? And they're like, my gosh, this is Phoebe. We're her foster parents. And we're still looking for her family, but it's not looking good. And he's like, really? Nobody came to claim this woman that you're talking about?

The only thing we know about her is her name is Delilah Wilson and you see him get pale. You see him not make eye contact. And then later he goes to the pier, has a picture of her blowing a kiss at him. So we're under the impression that that is his daughter. So then the question is, can he handle the fact that he is so close to what's left with Delilah, but Phoebe could become a Quartermaine. So, or Chase.

At the end of the day, she's still gonna be a Quartermaine because that's who has all the legal, what, manpower, muscle, if you will. Yes. and it's so funny because when Brook Lynn confesses she wanted to adopt Phoebe and then Chase is like, thank goodness, I want to too. Use your connection. We're doing this now. That's what we're doing? Okay. Good to know. And

A lot of people have been complaining online about the whole Jordan and Curtis thing. If you've been saying ever since you woke up from the burns and the accident that you shouldn't have been kissing all over Curtis while driving. Now, both her and Curtis like, got to find a person who swerved and didn't come back. We have said it, people online have said it. You can't come back to an accident you didn't know about. Yes, somebody else.

swerved and they hit the guardrail. But it was probably because they crossed the median line and was driving into them. I mean, a lot of people are saying they're confused as to this whole, gotta find out who did it. And the likely suspects are Isaiah, because he did his little house call for Lulu and Rocco, who got an infection from his.

Slide bite and wasn't taking care of it or Brook Lynn who? had had a little bit too much to drink when she went to go see her son Gio play with Trina and Trina went to Gio this past week and it's like hey I think I want to take your mom up on all this constant telling me that I'm a good singer and I'll only do it if you play the guitar and he's like I ain't even that good. She's like I only trust you so apparently now they're gonna be a music team

for the time being. But if he gets it back into music, I'm behind it. Yeah, I mean, I know he does want to play the violin outright yet, but the guitar and seeing what other musical talents he has, I'm here for it. I just, again, it's the Curtis. Out of all the people, this is the storyline we're given. This, the whole, like, it's Isaiah. I just know it. Why? You know what we need to do? Valentin helped him.

So I feel like Curtis needs to help Valentin now. Honestly, all hands on deck. Let's just run Sidwell out of Port Charles. And if that's what gets it, I don't see how Brennan can stick around. So you were a director with the F, well, no, WSB, what is he, a regional director? Yeah, he wasn't a director, director. The fact that you have been caught slacking twice, your girlfriend's cheated on you, you really have nothing else.

working for you in Port Charles, you might need to be relocated. Like there's so many opportunities that can make this work. And when it comes to just overall, all the things popping off in Port Charles, Curtis and Jordan's investigation, it's so low in the totem pole. the main thing that I had to root for, which was unexpected, but actually pleasant, Britt

and Emma having a moment where it reminds you, one, gotta have a gynecologist appointment, two, the idea that even if we are enemies, sworn enemies, because of the way that the healthcare system is in the U.S., if you got your appointment, this is the only doctor you can go. You keep your appointment. keep it. She was like, you have no other doctor? You're like, yeah, you can find another doctor. In August, she was like, go on and do Go on and do it. I will take this hit.

And it turned out that Britt was a professional, helped her out. She needed new birth control. For a hot minute, I was scared she was desperate for the appointment because she might be pregnant. I thought it. her and Gio been doing the do. Like rabbits. my goodness. But it was just to maintain, you know, health. Emma hates her to the core. Britt can't stand her either. But when it came down to it, Britt did her job, did it well. And Emma was like, I'll just stick with you.

So it's one good deed for Britt, which I guess outweighs the fact that she told Cassius that Joss was a spy. It's full circle all week. It's a drop in the bucket for Miss Britt. All right, now let's go to Young and the Restless. I think so. They earned some more respect. Why did they earn it though? Because poor Matt Clark, AKA Mitch McCall, has amnesia. But he is back in Genoa City. How did he get there? OK,

The problem is you were in Las Vegas, sir, with a bad head injury, didn't go to the hospital. The only clue you have to your existence is a athletics club.

The problem is for you to get from Vegas to Wisconsin, plane, train, or automobile, you're going to need an ID, you're going to need a credit card, cash, something. Because by the time that everything is settled, again, we don't get to see it on camera.

He apparently hits Noah, runs away, but Noah finally gets in contact with Nick and is like, Matt is in town. Which means all Newmans need to be on high alert now. Why weren't we on high alert in the beginning, trusting Sienna like she knew what you were talking about. Don't trust her. Ugh, no. Then we have Cane gets arrested, Phyllis has been arrested, cause Cricket is just going rogue on her day one as the DA. You've already heard the rumblings that-

the supposed evidence, all these emails is possibly fraudulent, yet you still make an arrest. And unfortunately, the arresting of Cane allows him not to be able to go to New York because he's posted bail, but they think he's a flight risk. And he is the only match for Malcolm, Lily's

biological father and he might not be able to do it. Now, Nathan claims that he can still do the stem cell donation in Genoa City. I presume they just have to fly it over to New York. why not just have Malcolm come back and get it done there? But that's neither here nor Well, I they started their procedures in New York. Yes, in the blah, Blah, Come on now. Soaps. Whatever. But.

Cane is trying to calm Lily down. It was just so cute. And she's just like, nothing is good. She already went to Traci. I love my Traci. And she crying on her shoulder. Things are not gonna work out. And Traci's like, I could have gotten a check. Like you didn't ask it. Like I'm sorry that the whole Winter family didn't qualify, but other people can get checked. But she's like, you was hanging out with Cane? You ate dinner with Cane? He's gonna get donation for you? He did it for you?

Maybe they're still so, I ain't got time to think about that. I'm just focused on my father. And she's like, understood, understood. But Cane has to talk her down. She's like, the world is coming to an end. And he's like, babe, I got this. will, whatever it takes, I'm gonna get you that. Even if I have to jump bail. I was like, let's hold off on that. Come on, criminal mastermind. Let's not do that. Whoa, now. I know, I was like, I don't know if I want all that. But it kind of pisses me off because you.

Arrested Phyllis, made bail. Arrested Cane, made bail. Billy? Billy is in them papers. You better arrest that man so he can may bail. At this point, Christine needs to remember her track record. Unfortunately, out of all the attorneys across many of the soaps, she would not be the first person I call. Like, it's just never always ending up in the favor that you think it should. And now you have Michael Baldwin representing Phyllis.

I don't care how much fraudulent stuff is against her, she still stole. Let's reiterate that Cane did come up with this stupid AI plan, but he reneged. He didn't want to go through with it. She's the one who took it from him and pulled the trigger like nobody's business. And technically, if you think about it, Victor was the one who kind of intertwined it into the Newman system because he stole it from Cane because of Phyllis.

It's a real trickle down effect. really could have been. then it's like, Cane has Amanda, she comes back. It's going to be so many great lawyers against Cricket. And Billy has already said, if I get called in, I'm telling on both of you. And Cane, I'm sure is going to be like, I'm not going down for this. Not when you chloroform me and took my stuff and used it against Victor after I told you that I wasn't going to do that. So that's two against one.

So Phyllis is gonna catch something. Michael is amazing. He never loses. But you can only save her so much. She needs to take some kind of responsibility for her actions. Finally. That's all I want. That's true. It would be nice. I'm those other storylines, nothing really other standing out. No. If you're not kidnapped and you're not Matt Clark and you're not arrested. You don't matter. Claire, I'm talking about you and Holden going to New York. Whoop-de-whoop. Okay.

Yeah, you're gonna finally tell her the truth and? It's like why? I mean in a little alteration between her and Audra. Why? Look, and Audra has been on her best behavior at this point. Let her even sit down and break bread or at least sip coffee together. They did until Audra's like, I'm so busy. Working, working, working. Being so successful. You wouldn't know about that. with your family company gone.
