La (00:06)
Hello and welcome back. another new episode of Lather Up with La. How you doing, Queen?

Chanelle  (00:11)
And Chanelle.

I'm doing better than Josh Griffith is this week.

La (00:17)
Dun dun dun. We'll talk about that in a second. But first, little news update. We want to let our Beyond the Gates viewers know that because of the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, there will be reruns starting June 29th with Beyond the Gates. they're going to go not super far back, but the last couple of months. So on the 29th, we're

Seeing the episode from May 20th. That was the Gala Cotillion in case you missed it. Then we have Thursday, July 2nd. We're gonna go into the April 3rd episode where Fairmont Crest celebrated Easter that featured Jennifer Holiday. Then on Friday, July 3rd, we have the rebroadcast of an April 6th episode where Jacob and Naomi

had to celebrate their wedding anniversary separately because remember he was undercover to try to figure out who the leader of the plasma ring was. So it'll be back on July sixth and it'll start back up from where we left off on June twenty sixth. So

Chanelle  (01:27)
And again,

I appreciate a good reprieve. I need to ask my Canadian brothers, sisters and the other international listeners, do you all have to deal with this? I feel like this is probably for the independence holiday, but I know they're farther ahead of us.

La (01:41)
Probably not because it's an

American holiday. It doesn't have to deal with them.

Chanelle  (01:45)
Exactly. So I feel like not only are they probably further ahead because of the less interruptions, but because of our holidays. So look go on and tag us on X or somewhere and tell us where along this plot line are you all located.

La (02:00)
The other thing is the other soaps most likely will have a few new episodes. So I remember last season we were having issues because of the amount of episodes that Beyond the Gate promised. Is it the same thing happening this season? Because if so, y'all need to renegotiate. If the other soaps have their new episodes, I shouldn't be watching a rerun of yours.

That's my preference. So let's work on that. Also, we have Chad Duell. He used to be Michael Corinthos on General Hospital. He apparently has dropped his first musical single, If You Need Me, on Spotify. Apparently he's gone from a soap star to attempting in the world of music.

Chanelle  (02:51)
Yeah, EDM music at that. EDM. Okay, dance track.

La (02:56)
All right. This week we're gonna start off a little different because

Chanelle  (03:04)
goodbye. Goodbye.

La (03:05)
Josh Griffith, who

was bigwig at Young and the Restless, EP showrunner, head writer, he has left the building. He is no longer working on the soap opera. And I hate to say it. I don't hate to say it. We've been saying it. His direction has been directionless.

And it's just been getting worse as we progress. So we definitely feel like it's in his best interest. But in the beginning I thought we might have been a little too hard on his work because he has such a elaborate resume when it comes to soap operas. But check in the soap streets, nobody is as upset as I thought they would be. They seem to be hip hip horraying that he's out.

Chanelle  (03:58)
Like I'll give him his props for being a co-creator for Sunset Beach. But this is a brand new day and age for Young and the Restless. And it just was never firing on all cylinders. And I'm sad for him on that level. But again, Josh, Joshua, may I call you Josh? we've been trying to

Guide him in the best way possible look, from one seven time Emmy winner to another, your daytime, my news. There was a lot of writing on the wall. And I also wonder, was this coming from the big wigs at the network being like, Look, what you gonna do? And maybe they gave him the out, maybe he decided on his own. But just this last year of with what we have been talking about since we launched our podcast.

It was getting raggedy. And the momentum just wasn't there. And we'll talk about Young of the Restless this week. But I I hope that he can enjoy the rest and and pat himself on the back for his long, illustrious soaps career. And until then, I gotta eye you for what you did this week.

La (05:11)
And let's be clear, it's not like he got the leadership role like yesterday. He's been steering the ship for three years now. And this is what you have to show for it. the writing was on the wall, as Chanelle said, and your viewers are your priority. And I don't know how many times

you can kidnap people in one town. But sir, I think you hold the record and that's ridiculous. It's ridiculous. Like the whole thing the crossover should have been better as we pointed out

couple episodes ago, you had Beyond the Gates carry most of that weight when it could have been equalized between Young and the Restless, setting it up. Then you go to DC, do what you do and then come back. Instead everything was an afterthought. You have Victor going to Maryland ten seconds after he finally gets his company back. Wouldn't that be a priority to him? I know him and Vernon were super tight, but at that rate it wouldn't have

been a problem if he had sent a video saying how great Martin is and how great the Duprees are. And maybe have Jack, Diane and Kyle be there, or just Jack and Kyle, because again the Diane thing didn't work right, but have Jack and Kyle there and maybe one of them accidentally steps on the cord and interrupts the thing because they hate Victor so much.

And then when we come back, we would actually see Diane. If you're gonna insist upon her being in Maryland, make me aware that somehow she got separated from the group and was taken. But again, the kidnappings were done too frequent. It was your crutch, and it was disappointing every time. Not to mention the AI. You threw AI at us for like a year. It didn't make sense. You're telling me one minute that it's

just eats up everything and It's a danger. But then you turn around and Cane still has money, even though an accountant told him he didn't, but he still has the athletic club. Why didn't you just say you have lost all of your technical enterprises except

The Athletic Club. Not to mention, while we were in Nice, he supposedly bought up all these properties. Wouldn't they be paying off? We don't even talk about that anymore. Stop acting like we don't remember you're giving me material. As an avid soap fan, my goal is to absorb all the information you're giving me to utilize at a later date. These are clues for something. I just don't know what. But I feel like you forget.

That you gave us this information. yeah. I did tell you that the accountant told him he was broke as a joke. Well, he can't be broke if he still owns the athletic club, and you gave Phyllis Arabasque. Same time you told Cane, and Cane has been telling us that Arabasque ain't got nothing left. But Phyllis is bragging. you ain't heard the latest. No, my girl. You ain't heard the latest. All you have is a title. All you have is a name. You don't have any money. Is Lauren gonna foot the bill?

Chanelle  (08:02)
Ha ha ha.

Did you know?

La (08:31)
Stop acting like we're not smart as you've made us. We are intelligent individuals watching this show. So right. Yes. So there were so many h storylines with holes in it. It was just too much. So I wish you well, but I'm glad you gone.

Chanelle  (08:39)
Look, he could at least sold one of the trains on one of the other continents. Like there was other things.

Not angry, not even disappointed right now. Which is the worst. But let's get to this week's episode of Young and the Restless

La (08:58)
Indifferent.

And yes, and

please have somebody like really on point as his replacement because we have no hesitation talking about them too, so be prepared.

Chanelle  (09:14)
Yeah, right now showrunner is Sally McDonald. She was the one when he stepped down to the role of just head writer instead of EP that took over that day to day. But fingers crossed, it and maybe it's time for fresh young blood or at least fresh talent that has not been marred by the old school ways, but still knows the history. Let's go back to the history.

La (09:36)
Yes, if you don't

know the history, you can't do this because we do. We do. And viewers in general, know the history. And we will call you on your BS. So know what you're doing. So in that realm, y'all don't know what you're doing. this past week, you didn't know what you was doing. You got Diane.

Chanelle  (09:40)
Just making up stuff.

La (09:59)
Snatched. She is under the guidance of a psychiatrist that supposedly Jack had her set with because she apparently went into hysterics, and the only way to keep her calm is to have her at his home. And she has figured out that Patty has somehow gotten her in this predicament. And so she's making it seem like she's trying to play the shrink.

you know, gain his trust, let him know that she believes in what he's doing and she's thankful that he's there, but secretly she's found a phone. She can't figure out the code to open it, but

She's just trapped in this house. And you have Jack instead of calling the authorities, trying to figure out a way, him and Kyle to break into the house to get her, because they've already tailed the shrink who came to the Abbott Mansion to tell Jack absolutely nothing. couldn't tell him how she's doing.

Can't let him know what hospital she's at, can't let him know what, treatment she's getting. He told her. He told Jack nothing. And then was like, well, I hope this helped. What? No. And in the process, when he left the house, Kyle tailed him and figured out that it was an actual home, not a facility. And so that's when Jack and Kyle are like, we gotta, you know, we gotta break in and like let.

Chanelle  (11:05)
Са, вот фор?

Absolutely not.

La (11:26)
Diane know what is going on. But you all aren't equipped for this. You need a police intervention. Like you already know Patty is not right. The other thing is the psychiatrist that's supposedly helping Diane is the one that signed off on Patty. And my favorite line of the past week was, She's as sane as I am. Well, if that's the bar, we are in trouble.

Chanelle  (11:52)
He's going along with this crazy convoluted plan. And this also goes back to Josh. You can't tell me that the Abbotts have an elite security team at their disposal, and the only two rag tag people who can get this done are Jack and his foolish self and Kyle. You don't even have the rest of the family trying to do it. I thought Traci was doing all this research, keeping an eye on Patty and where she's been popping up. The fact that the psychiatrist

Is Patty's, but said, I'm not Diane's psychiatrist. They just told me all the information. What in the like psychiatrist HIPAA violation was that supposed to be like? That would be like Dr. Nicole being like, I have a patient. Can you handle this for me? Let me give you all their information in my notes for just a quick synopsis. That wouldn't happen. It it's just like, why are we dealing with this? I I even kind of wish for the heyday.

La (12:42)
No.

Chanelle  (12:47)
with Paul because I'm like, do we have an actual police chief right now in Genoa City? Because if we're bringing old boy from LA and he's not even made aware of this, then what use is he? None. None.

And I j I'm so I'm I'm just it's the anger. The flames, the flames. Look, if you have no clue, you know, because I just don't understand how we have gone from a crossover with Beyond the Gates to this. This was the first episode that Monday after the crossover, and this is where we've come to. This is what we've become. And I feel like with with Diane, if we're not gonna stab him with the letter opener, ⁓ is he

Unscrupulous enough where he tries to sleep with her because she is laying it on thick and he is eating it up like a hot bowl of grits or oatmeal. Like I just don't understand.

La (13:46)
Well the other thing is she keeps harping on I desperately need to sleep. I haven't slept since I got here. I'm so exhausted. Could you give me some pills? Just give me a prescription.

Chanelle  (13:57)
Look, and that

would work if Patty didn't have a picture of her sleeping, Josh. That's the first Lord.

La (14:01)
Right, right. So she must have been sleeping some kind of way. And

in the previews for this week, Kyle is asking Traci, Have you seen Jack? I said, I know you lyin I know you lyin. Because remember, Patty heard Kyle and Jack. She with her slick self is in crimson lights where they've met to try to figure out what their next move is. She has it all. She's listened to it. She knows what their plans are.

Chanelle  (14:14)
You better not have him kidnapped.

La (14:30)
And all of a sudden, now I believe this coming week we gotta try to find Jack. I'm like, this is impossible. It's like there's a black hole in Genoa City and every other human is being thrown into it. Why? Because we live to kidnap somebody.

Chanelle  (14:37)
Whoa ⁓

Yeah,

like this is not Twin Peaks, my guy. And the fact that every time that Patty left her room, they were saying they're playing out like you could text your son this. You can go to a a closed facility. Go back to Jabot. to the point that even with Jack talking to Billy about it and Patty's at the house and he's like, ⁓ you're home? You don't have a like a door security. Where's your ring camera? Like where

La (15:07)
You didn't check.

Chanelle  (15:10)
Security in Genoa City is so lacks. Like, I really need to figure out the crime statistics of Wisconsin in this area because it's like she's just probably ⁓ gave her the black card and she went shopping. I'm guessing for lingerie. Because at this point, Patty's like, I have given you your own room. It is time. Look, we will have Diane be collateral damage if I don't like. What are you, ma'am? Ma'am, the collateral damage though? You've already kidnapped this woman.

La (15:16)
Rob

If I don't get some, she

gonna have to die.

Chanelle  (15:41)
Like, that's what friends are for. I'm like, I just don't understand. And all through this, all in all, Ashley don't know nothing.

La (15:45)
Yikes.

No, she

never they don't keep that woman informed ever. And I question how much Traci knows. I mean, yes, she was the one who first sound the alarm, but they haven't kept her in the loop. Other than get your bag and get out. She was told that.

Chanelle  (16:04)
She gave them critical information.

Look, if she at the athletic club, at this point, they again, legacy characters, people that we love. This could have been an all-out Abbott affair of Operation Save Diane. Like it's something like I it's just why? Why are we dealing with this? And this could have possibly been avoided if we at least acknowledge.

That Diane reached out via voicemail to Jack because she was feeling a little apprehensive, or at least lonely. Never even got that. Didn't even get that during the crossover. So it's like, we are back to square one. While I root for her to get out, I'm like, how long are we gonna be trapped in this man's house, eating dinners, having therapy sessions, lies? And she's really gonna blow a gasket when Jack is like, I'm here to rescue you, my love. Did Patty move in? Yeah, well, yeah.

La (16:59)
Yeah, but that was

part of the that was part of the mystique.

Chanelle  (17:03)
And then it's like that was the one thing she told you, hell no. And I'm still kind of mad about the renovations, but it's like you got your new chick with what your old chick did a renovation on and a house that all your family's been kicked out of. Jack, what are you doing? This is when Vic could be like, see, Nick, you don't need this foolishness. This is why I was trying to save you from before you went blind. This is what it was.

La (17:20)
Ha ha ha.

⁓ yes, and then we have Nikki. Nikki has been dealing with headaches for what feels like months, but it's probably only been a couple days. And in the process of the terrible headaches, her vision has been blurry, in and out. Now in the this past week it's narrowing, narrowing.

And she gets a diagnosis that there is a mass that is behind her ocular nerves and if it's not taken care of, she will go blind. But if it is taken care of, she still could go blind. So blindness is definitely on the table.

Chanelle  (18:02)
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

La (18:03)
True, true. So then she tells Victoria, who's like, Mama, we got to figure this out. Like, this is DEF CON. We can't just sleep on this. We gotta figure out what's going on. So they talk to Nate, and I had to laugh because Nikki was like, Well, can't you do it? I'm like, I'm sorry. Have you forgotten this man has not only an injury that apparently keeps him from ever doing surgery again, but he hasn't practiced medicine in years. What you mean can't he do it?

Chanelle  (18:33)
Look, she wanted her future son in law to feel involved in the process.

La (18:37)
It was I was like, I want to check your cognitive along with your sight. Like, what are you doing? So anyway, it was determined that she definitely needs to go to the hospital because she does see well, first off, we have the parent trap starring Claire. I'm gonna invite grandpa to brunch, but I'm also gonna invite grandma to break. So if they go to brunch together, obviously they'll make up. Well, Nikki just got this news that she gotta get an operation or radiation or some "ation"

And she's like, I ain't got no time for no French toast. I'm not up for it. And Claire's like, Are you sure? Cause and Victor, being Victor, is like, why is there an extra place setting at this table? Cause they went to the athletic club. ⁓ it was just, don't do this. You invited Nikki, didn't you? You thought we was gonna break bread together. Well, that's not happening. Mind you, she has already given her rings to Victor.

So in his mind, we pretty much done. We pretty much on the verge of divorce. So he's like, there's no coming back from where we are. And so Nikki comes down and she's like, I didn't realize Victor, you would be here. He's like, Yeah, I bet. And she's like, No, I really didn't. I just thought Claire was inviting me to brunch. But I'm gonna go out and get some fresh air and get out of here and leave you to whatever you doing.

And so she goes with Victoria, has another episode that's even worse than the other ones, and Victoria has to rush her to the hospital. In the meantime, Claire confesses, Yes, I was trying to get y'all together because this can't continue. And he's like, Look, I've done all I can do. And he was like, You're keeping something from me, aren't you? No, not even. And then Victoria comes and she can't keep herself together. And he interrogates them both. And eventually Claire breaks down and is like,

She had already told Victor, Nikki's having a lot of issues with her headaches and stuff, and it's affecting her sight. Yeah. But then she breaks down and is like, they found a mass and she needs an emergency surgery. He was like, What? So he contacts Nate, who contacts Stephanie, who contacts some woman named Dr. Virginia. Apparently, she's the best of the best, who does this kind of surgery. And

Chanelle  (20:34)
Yeah, migraines.

La (20:52)
Actually, a friend of the pod, her brother actually can do this surgery, so it's a real thing. And Stephanie works her magic. What is this? Her second day on the job as the she was, yeah. So yeah, she was like, Whoo, gotta gotta save Victor's wife, or else this could be my last day. So she gets in touch with Dr. Virginia, who is like, I can get there as soon as possible. Victor is like, Don't even worry about it. I got the jet gassed up and ready for you.

Chanelle  (21:03)
And Chief of Sta, she coming in hot.

La (21:19)
And so Nikki is in the hospital. They finally told Nick what was going on. Victor did. He was like, What? Ain't nobody tell me. Sir, you are touch and go at best with your drug addiction. He was talking to Noah and telling him, I thought, you know, it would be one day a time, but every minute I'd be fainting. I'm like, ⁓ God. So nobody wanted to push him over the edge again. And not to mention the drug dealer that he messed with earlier apparently likes to sip his cappuccino at Crimson Light.

So he ran into him. He was like, If you ever need me, my guy, I'm like, geez like you got temptation everywhere, Nicholas.

Chanelle  (21:58)
I just had to laugh. I just said like he became one of his best comp look one of his best customers in less than a year. I just thought about that.

La (22:05)
Right.

Yes. So Nicholas finally learns. Victor is like, I'm doing what I can to get what she needs, but you go over there. Victor does go to visit, but sh Nikki doesn't know about it. She's too busy trying to see. And he gets everything in place, but he's like, I don't want to make her any more upset than she already is. So I won't go into the room, but y'all keep me posted and y'all stay by her side.

Finally by Friday, we learn that she can't see nothing. And again, the doctor is en route, but she has not arrived. So presumably this week we will have her have her surgery get the mask removed because apparently it was escalating too quickly for the radiation that the doctor first thought would be helpful. So we'll see if she can we'll see if she can see after her surgery.

Chanelle  (23:01)
I just again it it was very touch and go for something that has been building for quite some time, but I also feel the impact is lost because I don't know how long we would have Nikki have to be blind, if you will. I remember when they did this storyline, which it reminds me so much of what we had to deal with when Neil was blind.

La (23:27)
They did bring that up. when Lily found out from Nate and Stephanie, she was like, ⁓ I remember my father was blind. I hate to say it, I kinda forgot.

Chanelle  (23:37)
No, it was he used to work that cane and had to it it was definitely one of those points. I forgot how he became blind. We have to go back to the archives, but I just remember the back and forth because he he was walking around at that time with the cane, having to learn to riv the world and the way he approached it. Like it was giving a lot of the things that at that time were very revolutionary in our soaps day-to-day. And of

La (23:39)
Re rehash it a little bit for me.

Right.

Yes, he said that he were he learned braille.

Chanelle  (24:06)
Course, just or how he played. I just love the actor again, Christoph. We miss you. And it just how how it was done, it was handled well at that time. And to again have this pivotal medical issue be blindness. I I don't know if it was supposed to tug at our heartstrings. Was it supposed to

La (24:10)
Christoph R I T

Chanelle  (24:32)
Evoke the emotions because we're supposed to connect. Even telling Lily, it's like hippa be damned. But it's also is one of those things, like it's not like she'd be like, let me give her Chancellor back while she's going blind. So it was just like, Okay, you are just bringing up the emotions of the past with this. But are she still gonna be at the athletic club? Will Victor like, Come on home, baby? Like he's

La (24:38)
I don't know, right?

Chanelle  (24:57)
Bending over backwards to find the best doctors and everything else. And he look he did even step inside the hospital room for a little bit. She didn't know he was there. But it's one of those things where is this gonna cement them back together? And if so, this needs to be the last time that we have to go through a a potential divorce. Like, stop threatening that as the excuse of when a storyline happens, like, get out, we're gonna divorce. And you've

La (25:14)
Right.

Chanelle  (25:25)
dealt with Jack for over thirty years at this point. Like that is her friend through and through. Like j Victor, come on, my guy. Yeah, like th they're worse.

La (25:31)
Accept it. Accept it. But also

I forget that she has MS and I know a family member who has it. So and you'll see sometimes the cane or sometimes the aches. We never see that. She riding horses. So when she started getting headaches and Victoria was like, your MS, I'm like, my god, I forgot she had that disease. We never see any symptoms.

So in my mind, she was living her best life. Medication was kicking in. So for all of a sudden the headaches to come and now p possible blindness, to me, that came out of the blue.

Chanelle  (26:09)
You're right. Now that you think about it, it really was one of those. You know what? I just remember. Neil went blind after suffering ⁓ it was I know they said electrocution. I'll say an extreme shock, because electrocution is different. But yes, but it's like after all the things she did to go ride her horse and everything, it could have been an MS flare-up. You're right. It could have been a little bit more something debilitating.

La (26:21)
Okay.

Yes.

Chanelle  (26:36)
So we don't even have the medical conditions right that what could have possibly been? Mm. Mm-mm. Things that make you go, mm.

La (26:42)
Josh.

Josh. Connect the dots. You have the material. Use them correctly. It's not that difficult.

Chanelle  (26:54)
Yeah, instead of blindness,

maybe I mean, yes, her optic nerves could have been affected and it does

La (27:00)
But I know

for a fact with MS, you can lose the ability to walk. She could be in a wheelchair, and that would destroy her because I mean, not just walk, like you you lose the ability to use your like motor skills. She couldn't play the piano, she couldn't ride horses. She, you know, she could be on the verge of the invalid. And that like her getting through that and Victor realizing, like you said, the Jack thing.

Chanelle  (27:04)
Yes.

yeah.

La (27:27)
Business stuff, all of that doesn't matter because the love of my life is suffering through this profound MS flare-up. I've got to help her. And I'm not saying she would she would of course never be cured, but this is probably the worst one she's ever had. Work with her through that.

Chanelle  (27:46)
That's true. And and it does also impact the vision, blurry vision, double, or the temporary loss. But the fact that it was never addressed with the MS, i i we lost something pivotal with that. Josh. Joshua, Joshua.

La (27:49)
It does.

Yep.

Best of luck, my guy.

Chanelle  (28:06)
It and honestly those were the only major storylines where if it wasn't Diane it was Nikki. If it wasn't Nikki, it was Di didn't care about don't you talk about Phyllis and your dude. I know.

La (28:12)
Although there was a I was gonna say there was a

pop of comedy. You have our boy I love him. I don't care what anybody says. My Matt Clark. Matt Clark played by Roger Howarth. I love me some Roger. So he

Chanelle  (28:27)
I love Roger.

La (28:31)
decides to go to the shadow room and he just he really really really wants to do right by the Newman's and he really really can't because the damage you've done for decades is too deep but he will not give up and he goes to the shadow room and he sees Noah who's working and he's like what are you doing here and he's like I just wanted to you know come see all everything no no no hate you never gonna believe that you're trying to be better hate you hate you hate you and

Matt was like, you know, I can see it. I can see the anger could still be going, but I'm gonna do all I can to make things right. And Phyllis, coming out of nowhere, apparently across the street, saw him go in and she comes out of nowhere and is like, Hey Matt, what you doing over here? And Noah is like, How are you even speaking to this man after knowing all the stuff he did? Well, I know he did stuff.

But he hasn't done anything lately. And he helped save your father. I don't care. That don't make him a better man. Get him out. So she takes him out and they go to the athletic club and he thanks her and everything. And she's like, You just beating your head against the wall. They will never believe that you're trying to be better. Just like nobody ever believes, I'm a better person and I'm great. And like this one. It's always back to you. And

Chanelle  (29:53)
It is.

La (29:54)
He's like, Well, can I ask you something? And she's like, What? Can we go out to dinner? Cuz you're phenomenal and you're this bright light and you bring joy. I'm like, are you seeing the same woman I see? Like none of those things. ⁓ my god. Is it the like right? You knocked me out and hog tied me, but you're still a good person. So

Chanelle  (30:11)
That's a love rose colored glass.

Look, after you knocked me out and tied me up.

Water under the bridge.

La (30:24)
I guess they're trying to ⁓ make them a thing, make them happen. I'm not interested in that at all. There's got to be somebody better. At this rate, Traci. Give him Traci. Just don't give him Phyllis. Phyllis is horrible.

Chanelle  (30:37)
Give the rapist anybody.

Like the rapist needs to make amends and and do a 12 step plan. There we go.

La (30:41)
Whoa, absolutely. You shouldn't have time for a relationship. You're right.

Okay, no relationship. Just focus on being a better person and making people believe that you're really trying. Right. The fact that you are still trying to squeeze in romance is dirt is dirty work.

Chanelle  (30:51)
Love yourself, heal.

Yes, the only romance that I appreciate at the moment is come on, Cane and Lily. I'm I'm warming up to the idea. Warming up to it.

La (31:08)
You

know that's I'm so glad. Welcome aboard. Whoop whoop. I love the Cane and Lily train. You on the train? You on the train. Yes. Yes. All right. Now let's go to Los Angeles. Where the

Chanelle  (31:13)
Not you putting me on the train, Lord. I understand.

BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL!

fashion show of look, from from fur to fringe to flamenco. Deke, I was not expecting what he delivered for Hope by Logan.

La (31:38)
No. It had a Latin feel that came out of nowhere. And there was a sale on fringe, because everything was fringed. Fringe and fake roses. So I'm under the impression either they advertised it, which I kind of doubt. At least I don't remember Forresters advertising that they were having Couture drop to.

the masses. I would think it was just to the people they wanted in the fashion fashion industry. But somehow Katie recognized that they were doing this, so to counter them and to steal their thunder and to utilize the famous people in the fashion world that they were having come in for the couture line. She and Bill were like, We're gonna drop our next line the day before.

Chanelle  (32:31)
Because it's insider information. Hope told her she was like, Because that they finished early with couture, Hope for the Future would be around the corner. Mm-hmm. She did.

La (32:38)
Okay, so she did tell them. Okay, you're right, you're right. Because I was like,

I'm pretty sure that she told. Okay. So they get this information from Hope, their newest employee, who has not quit her last job, and they rush, rush, rush, and they had tried fur on fur on fur through Deke's vision, and that wasn't working. So now, like you said, they came up with the flamingo matador look, everything black and

Chanelle  (32:43)
Insider information.

La (33:07)
There was like a hint of cream, and the only other color was red because of the roses and a gold crown. And so Deke threw that together. So undercover that Deacon came to support his son and his daughter. Well, he doesn't know about the daughter, but to support his son, not realizing that his son, Deke, is the head designer for Logan. So that was a surprise he learned. But It was streamed.

Liam set all that up. We still do not have Brooke realizing the situation. She comes over after learning that Katie is pulling another stunt by having her line dropped the day before, and she comes to confront her. Hope is there. We got another partition hiding. She's done it multiple times since signing over to Logan. And Katie's like, look, it was just the opportunity. And Brooke is like, what?

Opportunity. We have all these fashion big wigs coming for us, and you're gloming right onto it, like you've been doing since you opened your fashion house. And she's like, How dare you? And Brooke says, I'm not leaving until you tell me who your new lead designer is. I'm not going anywhere. So you got Hope trapped in the office. She sneaks out, luckily, and runs to one of the other offices where Deke is

Frantically trying to put together the line. And she's like, I need you to grab some stuff and go into the office and make my mama think that you're the lead designer. Which, no, yeah, I am being generous. Just go and make my mama see you. So he runs in there confused. And it's not a lie, he is their lead designer, but he is guided by his sister. That's what's missing. So Brooke sees Deke with all the, fashion accoutrement in his arms.

Chanelle  (34:40)
Look, didn't even tell him all that. Just go to Katie.

La (35:01)
And she's like, you're the lead designer? And Katie's like, ⁓ the Kat's out of the bag. We lost Eric, but we gained Deke Sharpe. And Brooke is like, so you going with this? This is what you're doing? That's what okay, that's a that's a move. All right then. I gotta go. So she leaves and Hope is like, my gosh, that was too close for comfort. How are we gonna keep this under wraps until tomorrow? And Katie's like, we got this. No problem. She is off the scent.

And she is. Brooke is just oblivious. And so what we didn't realize is that Hope and Liam are living in the house, not the cabin on the property because it's being renovated. So this woman is coming home every night to her mama's house, lying to her face about working for Logan. So they come home, Ridge and her are having a dinner.

And they're in the middle of the living room, and Hope and Liam try to sneak up the stairs. Of course, they're caught, and Brooke can't stop gushing. I can't wait for hope for the future to start. I can't wait for the couture to drop. How are you feeling about coming back? Full cylinders, it's gonna be great. And Liam, and even Ridge is kind to Liam. He's like, So y'all ready for tomorrow? You know, I hope everything works out.

best of luck on you and Liam's like, Thanks. And then they were like, We're gonna go out for ice cream. Come with us. Or I think Brooke said something about Logan, like the lead designer or something. And just Yes, ⁓ I can't believe that you didn't know that he was the lead designer. And again, Hope can't handle anything. And she's like, Is it hot in here? What? What are we doing? We're feeling dizzy, nauseous.

Chanelle  (36:42)
Yes, your brother.

La (36:57)
And she's like, my gosh, Hope, are you okay? You need to go and lay down. She's like, Yeah, I need to go and lay down. And they leave and go get ice cream, Ridge and Brooke. And Liam is like, You good? She's like, I can't do it. I can't do it. We can't do this. This is out of control. He's like, calm down. We got this. Your mom is a businesswoman. She won't take this personally. You, you know, betraying her and the people she love. It's all good. Yes, I just

Chanelle  (37:22)
Sleepin' ⁓ sleeping with the enemy, under her roof, eating

her food.

La (37:26)
It cracks me up how Liam has turned on the Forresters so quick. Like all of a sudden, it's like he doesn't remember that he was in love with Steffy, like unbelievably. Yes! Now it's like they are the enemy number one at all times. I don't get it. Then you have the

Chanelle  (37:37)
When you thought you were dying, you know, everything was pushing up roses.

La (37:48)
Logan drops their line and they do the whole thing and then

Chanelle  (37:52)
Look, you didn't even tell the best part before they dropped it. You have to shout out Morgan Fairchild, aka Dottie, and and Jim. It looks like Jim Bullock, who was playing Joseph, because they wouldn't even know about Logan and this impromptu fashion drop. If it wasn't the fact that they poached some of the people who were in town for the Forrester debut, to be like, ooh, ⁓ Dottie was like.

La (37:57)
⁓ Morgan Fairchild. Yes, yes, yes.

Chanelle  (38:21)
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but Logan has their fashion show tomorrow. They're like, no, that can't be. Maybe you just she's nope, look, email. Here it is. Didn't even send out anything except digital invites. And still, that's what got Brooke over there. So I at least shout out Morgan Fairchild. One, she still looks glamorous to this day, which I appreciate. And two, the loyalty. Because not only did she tell them, but she looked she still went.

La (38:37)
That's correct. You are correct.

Yes.

Chanelle  (38:49)
But it's like, I just want to let you all know. So, Brooke, if she didn't want to know about what was going on, they could have at least been like, we we had something to drop too on that day. I know it wouldn't have been the fashion show itself, but they were actually semi-rooting for them, they were happy for Deke. And then we saw the actual fashion go ahead of day of.

La (39:07)
Yeah.

Yes,

so we do this fashion show. The Forresters watch. They were judgmental, but they had to give props. They were like, okay, I like this cut. This looked good. You know, he's promising. He really has come into his own. It's like he's matured overnight. like he's got this guidance or something. And of course Brooke is like, well, it's in the genes, Hope has it. I'm sorry, what? But Hope has it, and now sodoes her younger brother.

Then at the end we have

Chanelle  (39:42)
Before

you do it, you also have to say they're all over at Forrester Creations along with Donna. Donna, before it even started, Donna went to that room. She she wanted them to stop it like the day of minutes before.

La (39:49)
Donna, poor Donna. Donna is

She called her. If not

even the day of, she's like minutes before they're about to start. She's like, you can't do this. You gotta stop. Brooke doesn't know that Hope is a showstopper. Please, you're gonna ruin us. Katie said, I don't care. And I'm not talking about this anymore.

Chanelle  (40:13)
the family. Look, the family after

my husband, she really did pull up

La (40:18)
She said, I don't care about it. And hung up on poor Donna. Then Donna comes back in the room. Everybody's looking for Hope. They're like, Hope isn't coming? She's not gonna support her brother. And Carter was the one who was like, she's probably watching it from somewhere else. I was like, you ain't never lie. Yes, she is watching it from somewhere else. Her and Liam were hauled up in a room watching it online until her big debut. So can I get to the debut now? Okay. So

Chanelle  (40:29)
Mm.

Now you may.

La (40:47)
Katie is on the runway. She's thanking everybody, but then she takes it to the Spencer is about family. And we stick together and we support each other. We got Deke. Now we have a new acquisition. You may have heard of her. In fact, she's the namesake to the line. She was the inspiration and the

Chanelle  (40:56)
Mm.

La (41:15)
figurehead behind all that you've just seen, it's Hope. She comes out in this gold and black, stiff as a board dress with the Hope Diamond. The Hope Diamond that Wyatt has still been carrying around in his pocket and we're still convinced that it's not the real one.

Chanelle  (41:29)
It was structured.

Just again, it goes back to Brad Bell. If you've given me this opportunity to say the hope for the future diamond, when we first saw it, had its own security, and now we have it in a pocket and a little satchel along with lint and whatever else is in Wyatt's pocket. And then had the audacity to put it on a chunky rope chain. That's what got me. I said, I know it's not really a rope cord. What?

Her and I feel like Izaiah must have been shopping at the same place. So I'm like, ain't that the same kind of cord that Izaiah used for his little napkin bracelet? Anyway, so yeah. Ugh.

La (42:15)
Well, they also the jewelry

was a problem for Electra because she was like, Will never said that they were gonna be so prominent with their jewelry. Shauna somehow had all these chandelier earrings ready to go for these outfits, but again, they weren't coincided. Like, I don't think anybody really knew what Deke was gonna be able to come up with in such a short time. So everything was a chandelier.

Chanelle  (42:21)
They have Yeah, they have an awful lot of jewelry.

La (42:44)
earrings and then all the rings were chunk. And you know, like I said, Electra was like, I don't remember Will saying that Logan had a jewelry line. Where did all this come from? Then of course she's already told Dylan about her love and admiration for the Hope Diamond. So when that gets presented, mind you, it's blue.

Chanelle  (42:45)
It was chunky, yeah, it was chunky.

La (43:07)
And it matches nothing. So that again, you can just see that it was thrown on this.

Chanelle  (43:12)
Well, because

th that was so secret that the people who probably needed to know, like your I don't know, lead designer could have possibly designed something more structured to the hope for the future diamond doing a reveal when you have a structured outfit with gold and like the the fact that the Boustier area is already prominent. It was high, yeah.

La (43:36)
And high if I mean you pretty

much had to choke Hope to get it high enough because the way the dress was again stiff, very, you know.

Chanelle  (43:47)
Look

from the from the hair that was slicked back to the dress that was structured.

La (43:50)
Yes, yes. And

her earrings weren't going along with all the earrings we had dealt with. They were just little gold. And then you have the blue diamond. And Brooke's reaction, the whole room was like, ⁓ goodness. You see Eric with his mouth gaped open. You see Ridge like this bitch. you see Steffy's like, I knew it. I knew it. I knew it.

Knew she was up to something, but again, Brooke being the Brooke, tears welling up. Hope, what's happening? What are you doing? Yeah, she's like, what is this? She's like talking to herself. What I would love is if Hope comes home. I don't want Brooke crying. I don't want Brooke screaming. I want her simply calm.

Chanelle  (44:25)
Look, didn't even get to say anything yet. Yeah, well we just got eyes. Yeah.

La (44:46)
And being like, this is the choice you've made. You decided to be like your aunt and be a backstabber. Is that what I'm to understand? Got it. You are no longer welcome at this home. I've already sent your things to Spencer since that's what you are now, correct? You are a Spencer. So be a Spencer. We're cut off. Mm-mm. We're done.

I've never thought of you as a mistake until right now. It's over. You're out. And now it is my lifelong mission to destroy Logan. And if that means is it your collateral damage, so be it. Get out. I don't want her being hysterical, but you know that's what we're gonna get. Well, because in the previews you already see her going over to Katie. This can't happen. I'm like, no.

Don't waste your energy. Every time you go over to Katie and tell her don't do something, she does it ten times worse. Just attack. Y'all got couture the next day. And what I also would love is if they actually have the real Hope Diamond. Ridge had it, Eric had it, Dylan finds it, something. So we can show that Logan is a knockoff.

Chanelle  (45:45)
Yeah.

It didn't have to be that way, but you know how I feel about Brooke. I don't wanna have to root for her, but she has a point, even from the Eric thing. Did he do wrong? Yes. Like let's stop trying to make him the victim of his own demise. He went over there.

La (46:15)
he was in his own feelings

thinking that he was unappreciated.

Chanelle  (46:20)
Yeah, so you can't just say, I don't wanna do it anymore, let's stop. No, it the the train has left the station, if you will. But to bring on Hope, to bring on Deke, who again wanted to make it on his own initial and you didn't think he was good enough, to have them come in and and to have that gentleman's agreement of only Spencers with Spencers and Forresters with Forresters. You knew what it was gonna do, Katie. And if you're gonna do it this way

Now I have to question because Shauna came on just because of Wyatt getting what we're supposed to believe is the hope for the future diamond. You didn't talk to the lead designer about designing around it. Hope didn't know until a few minutes before. It's like I Yeah. And we're like, aren't you supposed to look? They've been trying to chase Shauna around the building. She's here. It's like I am an employee. And then Allison was like, Really?

La (47:06)
Shauna didn't even know Hope was working for them.

Chanelle  (47:18)
So no memo went out. So Katie, you're slacking on your PR duties, even for in in house memos. And through all of this, it's like I want to root for them in their own regard. I don't need another kind of spectra thing where it's like we're stealing designs and doing fast fashion, but I'm still trying to figure out with this summertime high of how I went from thinking I was getting fur and tweed and stuff to a flamenco dress.

La (47:21)
Yeah.

Chanelle  (47:44)
And feeling like the innard of working of Spain, like when we were overseas, hope was in Milan. So I I just but when we look at the what four million, they said streamers who were watching, they said that they had great results. And I'm like, yeah, probably from Spain, but I don't see this as the fashion of summertime here in LA of where they're gonna be. I I just don't know what to make of all of this.

La (47:58)
Okay.

Chanelle  (48:14)
And then we're gonna have to bring on Fanny eventually. And I'm like, so what is Hope by Logan gonna smell like? I I questions. Questions upon questions. Gardinas that's what it's gonna probably smell like. I just, ⁓ hope, hope, hope, hope. Is there hope? And how many times in different puns did we get with hope?

La (48:24)
I did, yeah.

Yes. Wha we're a family company, said Katie, and we have faith and we have hope. Y'all ain't catch none of that. Y'all ain't see it. Nobody saw this? She's saying it 38 times. She done told on herself on a regular basis. But that's what we ended up with. So now it is Forresters turn. It is Forresters's turn to come correct. Y'all's couture better be couturin.

Chanelle  (48:41)
Every other day we gotta find a way, said

and we still have to deal with that one. Yep.

It it really needs to be because right now, yes, we're gonna go all out in this fashion war. I was actually happy to see Sheila back in town. I don't know why they got me rooting for Sheila, but she's making her own demands. And I just wonder how this is all gonna play out now, too. You have your former stepchildren who don't like you, but you know, we have Deacon celebrating with Deacon Hope now. He's with Taylor.

I don't think Steffy is gonna be too keen on the fact that to get this divorce finalized, Sheila has her request, which is that she wants to spend more time not only with Finn, but with her grandchildren, because she'll be all alone.

La (49:45)
Again, this just proves Steffy's point. I don't want this woman in my life. And the closer you get to Deacon, the more she's infiltrating our world. And I told you, I begged you not to make this a thing. All right. Time to go to Port Charles, which didn't give us a lot. Anna Devane is back, but I have questions on questions.

Because you've been gone since Halloween. She apparently has her faculties back. She's allowed to crochet. And she even was allowed to make a phone call. She called Felicia and it's like, hey girl, I'm doing better. Can you come to France? Felicia tells Emma who they're all at the pool. Instead of putting it on speakerphone so Emma could actually talk to her grandmother, she takes a message and goes over and tells

Chanelle  (50:38)
She did.

La (50:41)
Emma, your grandmother is doing way better. She's even asked for a visit. Are you free? They go over, her, Mac, and Felicia. And all of a sudden, Anna is pulling Felicia aside. It's like, I got something to tell you. Nathan is not Nathan. I'm like, wait a minute. How in the world?

When you were the one who demanded a blood test and had to break the news to everybody that that was actually Nathan, how now do you know for sure that that isn't him? What has happened in this facility that got you on this level? you figured it out in France? What?

Chanelle  (51:19)
That's

why that's why she's just that good. And that's why she had to be taken care of and dealt with. And all of this was round again. We forget that we haven't really seen her since Halloween. I just want to know with her coming back. Like once we just got to get her out of France. But once that happens, is she going back guns blazing against Nathan, aka Cassius? Like, where where do we go from here?

La (51:23)
Anna

Anna

No.

Chanelle  (51:47)
with this information. I feel like Felicia could test him, but are we gonna just, you know, break down James's newly built world thinking that his dad is back and wanting to be with him?

La (51:57)
Yeah, I don't know how

you can expose Cassius and not destroy James. Especially since we don't have Maxi either. They haven't brought back a Maxi. So all he has to depend on is Felicia. And that would just be so terrible. But we'll see how they deal with that. also, Joss is trying to convince Cassius, look, just give me a gun.

we can get through this together if I'm weaponized. I'm like, no, no, no. No, no. And even he was like, I'm sorry, you think I'ma trust you with a weapon? I'm like, yes, cause she gonna shoot you first. Everybody know.

Chanelle  (52:29)
It's like, okay, John Wick, calm down. Like

So true.

La (52:41)
I

was like, Josh, I love your energy, but no, that's a no. Also, we have Rocco with his constant phone calls, supposed to be on the run, leads Lulu and Dante to their hideout. they both come for Britt. You're a kidnapper. You've corrupted this poor child. Everybody

Chanelle  (53:05)
Like I'm surprised they didn't

call her a groomer at this point. You're a groomer.

La (53:09)
Everybody knows it was Rocco who insisted on going with her because he felt that the block was too hot for him and it was gonna put his family in danger. He came up with this awesome plan. She was leaving to die alone. He insisted to come along. So Rocco was like, if we're gonna go, Britt has to come with me. And of course, Lulu is seething. She's like, this, ooh, this ain't your mama. This ain't your mama. And he's like, but she's a she's like a second mom.

Chanelle  (53:31)
Absolutely not.

La (53:37)
I don't want to have her die alone. And then Lulu is slick. She's like, okay, Britt, you decide. Should you come with us or no? And of course, she, being the bigger person, is like, I love you, Rocco. And I only want what's best for you. And what's best for you is for you to go with your parents. And hopefully they will keep you off of Cullum's radar. I will take care of myself here because he

was able to get the medication that was mailed to them and give it to her. Of course, we do know that Cullum poisoned it, so she could die quicker than she realizes. But that won't happen because when Rocco, Lulu, and Dante left, they promised, she'll be safe. We wish her well. She'll be great. They already had called the police and the police busted in just when she was about to give herself a dose and it's like, Freeze, you are under arrest for kidnapping. I'm like

Y'all dirty. Y'all are dirty. I was like, y'all some dirty people.

Chanelle  (54:35)
Didn't even get the parking lot from the resort.

Ugh, Dante, ⁓ Lulu. And I'm thinking through this united front, Rocco still wants to be with out of all people Brett. I I just don't know. I I again it it started off strange and and it's gone deeper down this rabbit hole. But at this point, it's like respect that man's decision. He is such a a teenager.

La (54:53)
He does. He loves her. He told her he loves her.

Chanelle  (55:10)
At this point, even if it's not, she's a mother figure, she has a place in his heart for her. So I just don't understand. Through it all, we have gone on this expedition, still can't go back home, mind you, the Port Charles. And now we got our girl Charlotte about to get hemmed up, and nobody is really taking the precautions necessary to even protect her, except our man Danny, who unfortunately has his own.

La (55:25)
No.

Chanelle  (55:39)
level of foolishness that he's dealing with too.

La (55:43)
It boggles my mind how he is so devoted to his father Jason who lives to leave him, lives to go on adventures.

Chanelle  (55:50)
Damn, live to leave him.

La (55:51)
He does. I mean every time I turn around, Jason got an adventure. He gets to save somebody else, but he cannot stay still for five damn minutes and raise his own children. Somebody always gotta take them. And Danny is like, I'm gonna climb the WSB fence and find out where my father is. I'm like, you are doing the most for a man who does the least for you. But that's the life you've chosen. So he tries to break into the WSB to get information about where his father is.

Because Charlotte informed him that Rocco was the one who shot Column and Jason took the blame for him, and that's why he's in the black ops jail now. So Danny said that he was going to WSB not to tell on Rocco because Charlotte was like, if you

Turn in our brother, I will never ever ever forgive you. And he's like, No will. So he was like, I wasn't gonna tell our Rocco, I was gonna tell them that Cullum is a double agent. And she's like, I'm sorry. You thought that was gonna work? That's gonna go well? No, they're not gonna take that well either.

Chanelle  (56:55)
Especially with no proof, Danny, my boy

La (56:57)
No proof.

No and then he gets arrested. His grandmother, Alexis, has to come and Cullum is like, Mm, this is a high flalutent crime that he could go down for. And it's not his first crime, right? And Alexis is like, Well, it would be bad optics if you, the head of the WSB and your organization goes after a teenage boy for trying to find out information about his father who was taken.

you know, against his will, no due process, none of that. Y'all just put him in a cell. And Cullum is like, all right aye, he good for now. We ain't gonna press charges. But do something else. Try it again. It's gonna be a wrap. So Alexis is like, what is wrong with you boy? And that's when he's like, My father. I'm like, again, Jason don't care enough about you to be doing all this.

He loves you, but he is not a father figure. He's not a father material. How many children has he abandoned? Ask Elizabeth.

Chanelle  (58:03)
Track record is not doing well.

La (58:06)
Right.

I'm like, he's not he can create them, but he can't raise them. That's what is that's what he can do.

Chanelle  (58:14)
Well, at least when I deal with Danny and the anger I felt with the stupidity, I give him his props for rounding out the week on Friday with coming through and protecting Charlotte when the WSB notice that, Danny, comes talking about Charlotte, we need to talk to you. And when she says no, the man pulled out handkerchief, which I'm guessing had a little bit of chloroform on it or something. And Danny again

La (58:39)
Yes, yep.

Chanelle  (58:42)
Spidey senses were tingling when he was about to leave on the elevator and saw the man and he pressed that button, but I'm guessing he pressed and was like, you know what? Let me go back up and check. Cause sure enough, he came back in the nick of time, took that man out with what, with like a pan or something, platter. Whatever it is, him and Charlotte got out. And I just would love for like Nina to come back and see somebody sprawling on the floor, even though that man will probably already come too. It's just the imagery alone.

La (58:59)
Something, something metal.

Chanelle  (59:12)
So now our two are either on the run, going back to her place. Who knows? But Charlotte, the WSB, is looking for you. Be careful, keep your head on the swivel. Hopefully, everything will be all right. And I also appreciate her and how she was talking to Nina when she finally had to come and finish her work. And Nina was like, So you're not gonna talk to me? Nope. After you tried to mess with me about that, she's like, I know the truth about Valentine. And she's like, ⁓ so if it all comes down to it, would it be me or Willow? Because I've heard you.

It was I was like, you know, I usually don't like children who are smarty and talk back. But I was like, Nina, you deserve it. And sure enough, while she was like,

I love you. Who calls? Willow. Willow at the police station. He's like, I gotta go. And Charlotte's like, doesn't surprise me. Bye. Don't let the door hit you, basically. And Nina seems so conflicted. And it's like, girl, the fact that the daughter who's blackmailing you still takes precedent and you weren't like, we need to finish this, or again, I apologize. Whatever comes your way, comes your way.

La (1:00:17)
It's true. And again, to me, Lulu is the female version of Jason. You live to go on adventure. Charlotte is by herself. Thank goodness her cousin was available, or else she would have been taken. If you all could stay put and raise your children, they wouldn't be always in danger like this, but you always gotta run.

Always gotta run. And your mama is supposed to be taking care of her, but she too busy trying to solve where Sidwell is with Jordan. Don't nobody be watching these kids. They got to raise themselves.

Chanelle  (1:00:53)
That's a good point.

La (1:00:54)
And then Willow is being framed for the leaving behind of Jordan and Curtis through that car accident, not only by her husband, but Lucy. Lucy put the bug in Detective Fitzpatrick's ear, but it was his interview with Drew that solidified it for him.

Blinky McBlink is like, yeah, she would there, yeah, she did it. She left him to die. Blink, blink, blink, blink, blink, blink. So he's gonna try to go get a warrant for a blinker. He was like, can I get a warrant to check? He said he was like, can I get a warrant for a blinker? And My question is, how did the trip finder from her car show that she was seconds away from the accident?

Chanelle  (1:01:36)
what he did say.

I know that's because of Brook Lynn and her great work on working with not only Lucy, but her I I don't know if it was Spinelli, but she had someone on the inside go in and change it. And that's why at this point, that's why she's not surprised. It's just lining up well. But I hope in this alignment that it doesn't mess up because, in a way, she I feel like she is gonna owe Lucy them shares that she

La (1:02:02)

Chanelle  (1:02:17)
so so once badly because this has progressed. But with the progression, I don't think it was best that Chase got to see it firsthand because now he

La (1:02:27)
He's gonna work

his magic to try to get it fixed.

Chanelle  (1:02:31)
That he went down to the police station out of uniform had the audacity to ask the ADA, can I talk to her for a minute? I would have been like, Hell no. And then to be like, Did they read you your Miranda rights? No. Well, then you weren't arrested, and you can go, sir, you just don't want your job in law enforcement. You are stepping over so much protocol, and you don't think.

That the people who are day-to-day in this precinct wanna deal with it. Even going up to Fitzpatrick, ⁓ I just want you to know, you know, the ADA has it out for for Willow. And I don't think that she deserves A looking at him like, bruh, the fact that you were even at her house, we're not gonna, you know, we're not gonna gloss over that just to say be like, ⁓ why were you even there to begin with? That's the real questions and the things that he's not telling Brook Lynn while he's still trying to

make amends with Tracy. You he ⁓ it's just Chase, Chase, Chase, Chase, Harrison Chase. I just

La (1:03:34)
Well, also I think Brook Lynn needs to tell her grandmother about Lucy's little stunt because Tracy will do whatever it takes for her family. And she can't stand nobody's Lucy. So she will definitely make sure that Lucy goes down for lying to the police about this and still get Willow taken down. Like that's how good Tracy can be.

Chanelle  (1:03:38)
I got this. I got a plan.

It should be like that. And that's why I question are Chase and Brook Lynn meant to be because we've already had the speech about the Quartermaine women and the long line of just being badasses. And through it all, the only person you could think could help you was Lucy. And then it's like she bribes you on the back end with blackmailing you on the back end, I should say. And and she's like, So you didn't do it out of the kindness of your heart. Hello, have you met Lucy? And it's so bad.

And raggedy with what you all are doing, that Michael overhears. And it's like, Brook Lynn, like you and your cousin, while you're trying to play the dutiful wife, why don't you let the family, the quartermains who know how to handle this type of situation in on the secret? You could do all that foolishness with Chase, which I again read the room, my guy. You are talking about putting a family trip together, and you are just looking over at Willow.

La (1:04:29)
Yeah.

Chanelle  (1:04:54)
while she's being interrogated. He couldn't help himself. I if you can't play on just being the dutiful wife, at least you know, play on his emotions. It's hard. I just feel neglected. I just feel, you know, I I know it's a friendship and you just said that, but something, something. It's not giving what it's supposed to give, but I'm still along for the ride. And through it all with Willow's interrogation, you got Curtis and his bald headed self.

La (1:04:57)
Yes.

Yes.

Ugh and but you also have Isaiah listening, did I hear that somebody else is a possible suspect? You ready to apologize?

Chanelle  (1:05:24)
Being like, sh sh Who over her? Yeah.

We know it's you.

We know it's you, Isaiah. Willow would never I can't believe and it's like again, if you weren't so laser focused on Isaiah, even if you didn't believe that Willow did it, at least to be like, well, we just have to let the law decide, you know, let the justice prevail, something. I don't know, text Jordan. You won't believe what just happened. Something else. It's like you're coming in hot. We already know you're wrong. And Frank.

I'm not gonna do you like I do Joshua just yet, but this also goes back to you put a lot of heavy lifting on an accident that we saw that was already deemed a single vehicle accident, not a hit and run, mind you, a single vehicle accident for finding someone who could have possibly helped to stay on the scene, I guess. ⁓ it's a lot. It's a lot.

I'm I'm getting tired of this. Let's wrap this up. Let's figure out again all the people talking. Frank, I'm not even angry or disappointed yet. I just have my eye on you.

La (1:06:33)
Frank. Frank.

Get it together, sir. And the only good thing was that Curtis got to hear that the trip finder did find her nearby. And he's like, damn, yes, Isaiah may not have done it. Accept that, sir. Finally, please.

Chanelle  (1:06:57)
You could at least look stay mad at him for for bagging your ex-wife or your estranged wife. Yeah, like there are there are other reasons. Yeah, you about to go to court and facing felony charges and you mad about the wrong thing. Make the main thing the main thing.

La (1:07:03)
And for saying that he would be a better father than you. That's those were justified.

Okay. All right, finally, this week we're gonna go to DMV because Beyond the Gates, still continuing with the Eva/Kat situation. Kat has recovered. They both seem to be all right since the transplant. We have Tomas thinking of proposing the Kat, and nobody is on board with this. I'm talking not her father, not her mother, not Chelsea.

Everybody giving Tomas off the side eye. Like, why are you proposing now? Meanwhile, what is this doing? Why are you doing this? Meanwhile, Leslie is convinced that Izaiah is trying to get permission from Ted's hand in marriage, but what he was really doing is trying to keep her from doing her little plan of my shouse got destroyed in the tornado. So obviously the place where I need to be, since you've recovering from surgery, Eva, is living with you now.

And it was so prominent that she was not interested that Eva's blood pressure went up on the monitor when her mother said these words. So her heart can't take it. It's proven. And so Izaiah is talking to Ted, not about can I have your daughter's hand, but can you help me keep Leslie away from Eva's home?

Chanelle  (1:08:16)
And that heart rate monitor. That heart rate monitor.

La (1:08:33)
But of course Leslie hears what she wants to hear and even gets caught by Nicole and Nicole's like, I thought you was changing, thought you was being better. ⁓ I am, but I just happened to come back from the bathroom and I heard the most beautiful words that a mother always wants to hear. Can I have your daughter's hand in marriage? You ain't hear none of that. Not one word. Not one word was that said.

Chanelle  (1:08:55)
And it wasn't said to you.

La (1:08:56)
No! Then we have

Chanelle  (1:09:00)
Go on to Tuesday's episode because that on the social media streets and the soap streets got a lot of people up in arms. That's the Walker Mile in her boots episode. Dream to nightmare. Yes, let's get that out the way.

La (1:09:12)
okay. All right. So we

have Kat having a anesthesia fueled dream that she was living the life that Eva supposedly has lived with a terrible mom. If her and Eva had traded places, Nicole would be a drunkard and would never forgive Ted for cheating on her.

He ends up with Leslie and she apparently has a terrible attitude. Kat does. Martin doesn't believe in her. Chelsea decides to team up with Eva, so they have Cheva as opposed to ChelseaKat, their purse company. And Kat is seeing all this, but she's not a part of it. And she can't do anything about it until she sees her father.

Chanelle  (1:09:58)
⁓ lord.

La (1:10:08)
but there's also Eva saying, Look, everybody hates Kat. Kat is not doing any better. Life would be better if she was never born. And then Eva acknowledges Kat's imagery and is like, Sucks, doesn't it? That's what you said to me. And so Kat takes that to heart and goes to see Eva once she's awake and everything and is like, Did you have any like crazy dreams while under? And

Eva's like, no, did you? She was like, I did. I had a dream that I was you. And it didn't feel good. But in that dream sequence after the fact, Kat is still you ain't my sister. This really doesn't change much. I mean, I saved your life, but we're not gonna get close anytime soon. So what was the purpose of that dream? Yeah.

Chanelle  (1:10:58)
In the words of Cardi B, yes, what was the reason? In the words

of Cardi B, what was the reason? And I also feel like the writers are being very heavy handed with this. And this is another debate on social media. The pro Eva Leslie Apology Tour that is happening on Beyond the Gates, where that whole episode Tuesday, it's not that Kat hates Eva just because.

Of how she came into this world is the things that she did when she came to the DMV. That's what I don't understand, or I don't think they understand. It's one thing to be teen Kat, kit Kat, all the Kats, whatever. It's the idea of Kat's just a brat because Eva didn't know how bad her mother really was. No, she was a villainess in her own right, too.

That she took the motorcycle helmet and the gloves and were willing to hide it the way that she was telling Laura to get over everything that we know that Dana Leslie has done. I'm like, you know what, Kat? If you want to still be angry at her, that's fine. Do you have to exchange sisterly birthday presents? No. Can you all maybe sit for Thanksgiving on opposite sides of the table?

Yes, just kind of like a la Forresters's Spencer's Logan's and everything else over on the other soaps. But I just don't like how they have Kat looking like she's the crazy one when we know that aside from her, it seems like only Mona has her back where it's like, You did us dirty. No, you will not be forgiven. We we can either forgive or forget. Actually, I'd forgive and never forget, or

The idea of embracing where it is, because Izaiah, you know, you can't talk bad about his woman for nothing. Nothing. I feel like there is room for growth with Eva, but I'm still not there yet myself.

La (1:13:09)
Agreed and I need Martin and Izaiah to both humble themselves, even Andre, because they talked so much dirt about Kat being selfish and you know, how dare you not give up your liver immediately as soon as you heard Eva was in need. Especially Martin. Out of all of them, Martin needs to be groveling. He did not even come visit Eva nor Kat. You need to apologize to Kat. All three of you, Bamas.

You talked down to her and bottom line, it was her decision. She made a good one. She saved a life. You should be groveling at her feet. Mm Martin is a horrible brother. Point blank.

Chanelle  (1:13:51)
Yeah, and d didn't visit as much as he should. That should have been the emotional moments. Let's let's get to that root of some of the animosity and feeling she might have. Because you can't tell me as I know big brothers sometimes we clash with our older siblings, younger sibling dynamics. But he talks to to Kat like she is like the dirt on his shoe sometimes. The way that he blew up at her from the Samantha situation.

The way he blows up at her, when she has anything bad to say about Eva. miracle child aside, sir, you had bigger issues. Again, raise your hand if you were the sibling that had killed somebody, and it wasn't Kat. She saved a life.

La (1:14:36)
Ooh, very true. Very true. Also we have Hayley. One minute you want Bill dead. The next minute you want to be thought of higher than Dani. He gave her the fantasy of, you know what I would really like if we did a little somet something in the office. Well

Chanelle  (1:14:38)
Just saying, just saying.

La (1:14:58)
He was, you know, reminiscing about Dani. She comes after she hears from Naomi that he was just saying a name out loud for no reason to address this. And she was like, I done told you. What we did in the elevator is done. We don't talk about that. And she sees Hayley in a trench coat. She was like, Mm, you still want that, you still doing that old so and so thing? ⁓

Chanelle  (1:15:22)
Yeah.

La (1:15:25)
You ain't got nothing underneath under that trench coat, do you? Yeah, he had me do that too, but nothing is as good as the original. Okay, gotta go bye. Hayley is livid. She's like, You got me doing stunts that you had your first wife doing? ⁓ hell no. He's like, Well, you know, the old favorites.

Da-da-da. And she's still poisoning him. It's been a year. This is either the weakest poison in the world. It's either strengthening him or he's somehow getting rid of it. I don't understand. We've had a couple handshakes. In the beginning, he had his palpitations, but whatever she's doing, she empties the dropper every time and anything that he puts to his mouth, any drink.

And we're not getting any results. So either y'all gotta find another brand or just give this up. You gonna have to shoot him. I don't know what the there's no other way he's gonna die at point. Yes, there's no ⁓ not the nightshade. There's no other way. whatever, Randy, this saline solution you given. If anything, it might be bringing his pressure up. But that's it.

Chanelle  (1:16:15)
Look, nightshade, ⁓ antifreeze, ⁓

Need the poisoning from Romeo and Juliet because the fact that we have been dealing with this foolishness for nearly a year. And aside from the heart palpitations and an arrhythmia here or there, and the tremors, we're supposedly believing that he's fit. Like he was at the gym. That's when him, Andre, and Tomas finally, you know, popped the news that he wants to propose. I'm like, this is not giving what it's supposed to give. And again, Hayley, how

La (1:16:31)
Yes.

What?

Chanelle  (1:16:58)
Well of a gold digging scam artist are you? I just want to know, like where how how's this supposed to go? And it still makes me question, because you know how I feel about Randy. If we can even believe he got rid of Lynette, because if this is the second batch of poison that he knows and got from a guy, what what what's in it?

Like I need you to start giving the names. Is this is a concoction? Is it a concoction? Is this what we're dealing with? Because I feel at this point you might as well, you know, smother with a pillow. It would be faster. It's just it's not giving what it's supposed to give.

La (1:17:35)
Agreed. But we do have to keep an eye on Deanna. She keeps having these visions of the late Doctor Doug, her father, and now he is telling her, you know, you being

aggressive to your mother isn't the way to get her to shut down Joey. I need you to be more available to your mother. So they're on a mission to go on a little getaway just to have some time to themselves after all the chaos, tornado, all that crap, losing Derek. And after having her

chat with her father's spirit, she comes and she's like, there's this cool ski lodge for the place that y'all are thinking of going. She tries to do what her father says, but I feel like her father could lead her into something dangerous, this visions. And she needs help.

Chanelle  (1:18:30)
she definitely plays crazy well and the fact that no one has caught on that sh when she smiles, she's usually smiling because the apparition of her father is the one she's talking to. It has me concerned. However, he he's not too far off though. He it gave solid sound advice because if you want your mama to stop being with Joey, it's easy to catch more flies with honey.

La (1:18:44)
Yes.

Chanelle  (1:18:59)
Because you've been pushing her, pushing her more and more into his corner. And if she hadn't popped up, I think they were about to hop a plane and go what on a vacation or something. And so at least you disrupt that plane because that's like, no, you can't she can't go. She wants to reconnect with her daughter now. And if she doesn't, then I'd be like, Vanessa, you you get what you get because I can't help you.

La (1:19:10)
Yes, yes.

Yeah.

Well, do you have any hopes for this coming week?

Chanelle  (1:19:32)
Really hope that with Beyond the Gates, once we've moved past all of the propping up of Eva and Leslie, we can go back to the main family with the Duprees. I'll even give somewhat for Richardson because then that goes into Smitty and Martin and everybody else. even with this week, having Miss Anita going back to the hospital and getting the updates and getting her clean bill of health. I I just want the story of progression to focus back on

The family that we were promised as being the prominent family. Holding power. We know Martin's gotten through this midterm stuff. I I really would love to see where we progress with that. And Dani and all the other sidelines, storylines. Like I just want that opportunity for some summertime fun. That's my goal. Thoughts and prayers. And Tomas getting a big fat no when he asks, Will you marry me? No.

La (1:20:24)
Okay. Yes.

Chanelle  (1:20:31)
A complete sentence Kat. No.

La (1:20:35)
I hope that we see a brighter day in Genoa City. I want actual better storylines that have me on the edge of my seat. I deserve it. I've been watching this show too long. And as a viewer I know there are lulls but I think we've pretty much had our lull for 2026. Let's fire up the Jets.

Chanelle  (1:20:41)
Mm.

A change is gonna come. I just gotta figure out when I guess the last day of the episodes that he has already written and taped will come to an end. That that will definitely be when I wanna see that as well too.

La (1:21:05)
Yeah.

I feel

like we'll be able to sense it. We'll be like, this is new. Yes. All right. Well, that concludes this week's episode of Lather Up with La. We're gonna keep watching them stories because we do it for who? Every week. Don't forget to subscribe, y'all.

Chanelle  (1:21:22)
Freeling fresh.

And Chanelle.

We do this for you, said
