Hello, and welcome to Selah.

I invite you to find a quiet spot, free from distractions, where you can fully focus on God’s presence.
As we move through this meditation, engage your heart and mind—visualize the scriptures, let the words take root in your soul, and repeat the prayers.

Today, we’re reflecting on Mark 4:40:
“He said to his disciples, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’”

This isn’t just a question—it’s a divine invitation to trust.
Even in the midst of the storm, Jesus calls us to anchor our hearts in faith, not fear.

 Let’s begin.

 Close your eyes.
Take a slow, deep breath in…
 Hold…
 Exhale slowly…

“Quiet my heart, Lord. Help me to be fully present with You.
I rest in the knowledge that You are here,
shaping me, molding me, and completing a good work in me.”

I take a deep breath in...
And as I exhale, I see myself in a boat—surrounded by crashing waves and a sky full of storm clouds.
The winds are fierce. The water is rising.
 Fear grips my chest.
I cry out, wondering if I’ll make it through.

Then… I see Him.
 Jesus.
Asleep. At peace. Unmoved by the chaos.

He stands up and speaks—first to the storm:
 "Peace. Be still."
And then to me:
"Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

His voice is not condemning—it’s tender.
It’s the voice of a Father gently awakening His child to trust.
The waves begin to calm. The sky begins to clear.
And my heart begins to rest.

I realize…
I was never alone in the storm.
I was just forgetting who was in the boat with me.
 (1 minute of silence here)

I pray from the depth of my heart:
"Jesus, forgive me for the times I’ve let fear drown out faith.
When the storm rages louder than Your voice—remind me who You are.
Remind me that You are with me. That You’re not alarmed. That You are still in control."

I breathe in deeply…
 I receive Your peace.
 I breathe out slowly…
 I let go of fear.

"Help me believe even when I cannot see the calm.
Let my faith rise higher than the wind.
Let my trust hold stronger than the waves.
You are the God who calms storms—and the One who sits with me through them."

I imagine Jesus reaching out His hand, steady and strong.
 I take hold of it.
And I whisper into the stillness:
 "You are in my boat.
 And that is enough."
 (1 minute of silence here)

I breathe in deeply again...
As I breathe in, I receive His calm.
As I breathe out, I release panic and fear.

I center my heart on these truths:
"Jesus is not afraid of my storm."
"He is with me in every wave and every wind."
"My faith is not in the weather—it’s in the One who commands it."

Breathe in…
 Hold…
 Breathe out…

"I choose faith over fear."
 "I choose peace over panic."
"I choose to trust the One who calms storms."

One more deep breath in...
 Slow, steady breath out...

"Thank You, Jesus, for being with me in the storm.
You are my peace. You are my anchor.
Today, I sail with faith—because You are in my boat."

Until next time, I will stay in Your presence and let hope overflow.
 Selah.
