What part of today’s meditation spoke most deeply to your heart? Share your thoughts - we’d love to hear from you.
Hello, and welcome to Selah. A sacred pause in the noise of life
I invite you to find a quiet spot, free from distractions, where you can fully focus on God’s presence.
As we move through this meditation, engage your heart and mind—visualize the scriptures, let the words take root in your soul, and repeat the prayers.
Today, we’re reflecting on Deuteronomy 31:6:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you;
he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Fear can be loud.
Uncertainty can cloud our courage.
But God gives us a powerful promise:
We are never alone.
Let’s begin.
Close your eyes.
Take a slow, deep breath in…
Hold…
Exhale slowly…
"Quiet my heart, Lord. Help me to be fully present with You.
I rest in the knowledge that You are here,
shaping me, molding me, and completing a good work in me."
I take another deep breath in…
And as I exhale, I imagine myself standing at the edge of a great unknown.
There’s a path before me—unfamiliar, a little daunting.
There may be obstacles ahead…
But I feel a presence beside me.
I turn, and Jesus is there—calm, steady, unwavering.
He places His hand on my shoulder.
“Be strong and courageous.”
I want to be.
But I’ve been afraid.
I’ve been shrinking back.
I’ve been rehearsing the worst-case scenarios in my mind.
Then I hear it:
“Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God goes with you.”
I pause.
I let the truth settle.
He is going with me.
Not behind me. Not watching from a distance.
With me.
And then…
“He will never leave you.
He will never forsake you.”
Breathe in…
God is with me.
Breathe out…
I will not be afraid.
"Father, You see the path before me.
You see what I cannot.
You are already in my tomorrow.
You walk with me now."
"I choose to let go of fear.
I choose to trust Your presence.
You said You would never leave me.
So I don’t need to stand in my own strength—
I can stand in Yours."
Breathe in…
Courage.
Breathe out…
Fear.
Breathe in…
Trust.
Breathe out…
Doubt.
"Thank You for walking with me.
Thank You that even when I feel afraid,
I am not forsaken.
You are near."
Take another slow breath in…
Hold…
Exhale gently.
Let these truths become your steady ground:
"God goes with me."
"He will never leave me."
"He will never forsake me."
"I am strong and courageous in His presence."
Breathe in…
God is near.
Breathe out…
I will not fear.
**"Thank You, Lord, that You go with me.
You are not distant.
You are not silent.
You are near,
and You are faithful.
I don’t have to be strong on my own—
because You are my strength.
I don’t have to fear—
because I am never alone.
Thank You for this truth:
I am never forsaken."**
Until next time, I will stay in Your presence and let peace overflow.
Selah.
