đź’¬ Reflection:
What part of today’s meditation spoke most deeply to your heart? Share your thoughts - we’d love to hear from you.

Hello, and welcome to Selah – a sacred pause in the noise of life.
I invite you to find a quiet spot, free from distractions, where you can fully focus on God’s presence.
As we move through this meditation, engage your heart and mind—visualize the scriptures, let the words take root in your soul, and repeat the prayers.

Today, we’re reflecting on Joshua 1:9 (NIV):

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
”

These words were spoken to Joshua as he stood on the edge of something new.
He was stepping into responsibility, uncertainty, and leadership without knowing exactly how things would unfold.
God did not remove the challenge—He promised His presence.

Let’s quiet our hearts now and receive that promise.

Close your eyes.
Take a slow, deep breath in…
 Hold…
 Exhale slowly…

“Quiet my heart, Lord. Help me to be fully present with You.
I rest in the knowledge that You are here,
shaping me, molding me, and completing a good work in me.”

Let’s begin.

I take another slow breath in…
And as I exhale, I imagine myself standing at the edge of a wide river.

On the other side is a place I know I’m meant to go—
a next step, a calling, a decision, a season that feels bigger than me.

I can’t see every detail.
I don’t know how the crossing will go.

I feel the hesitation in my body.
 The questions.
The quiet fear of getting it wrong.

Then I hear God’s voice—steady and sure:

“Be strong and courageous.”

Not because I feel ready.
Not because the path is clear.

But because I am not crossing alone.

I look beside me and sense God’s presence—
 firm, calm, unmovable.

Then the promise continues:

“Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged…”

I realize that fear and discouragement don’t disqualify me.
They are not signs to turn back.

They are invitations to trust.

Finally, I hear the assurance settle in:

“…for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Not just to the other side.
 Not only once I succeed.

Every step.
 Every unknown.

I take a step toward the water—
 not rushing, not forcing.

As I do, courage rises—not loud, not dramatic,
but steady enough to move forward.

I breathe in God’s presence…
 I breathe out fear.
 I breathe in courage…
 I breathe out doubt.

I step forward, trusting that God goes with me.

Father, You see the places I hesitate.
You know the steps I’ve been afraid to take.

Thank You for calling me forward without abandoning me.
Thank You for going with me into the unknown.

When I feel weak, remind me where my strength comes from.
When I feel discouraged, lift my eyes back to You.

I choose courage—not because I feel fearless,
but because You are with me.

I breathe in strength…
 I breathe out fear.
 I breathe in trust…
 I breathe out hesitation.

Take another deep breath in…
 Hold…
 Exhale slowly…

Speak these truths over your soul:

God is with me wherever I go.
I can be strong and courageous.
I do not have to be afraid.
 I am not walking alone.

Breathe in…
 Courage.
 Breathe out…
 Fear.

Lord, thank You for Your constant presence.
Thank You for giving me courage for what lies ahead.

Help me take the next step—
 not overwhelmed by fear,
 but anchored in trust.

May I move forward today confident that You are with me,
 wherever I go.

Lord, I stay here with You.
 In the quiet, I listen.
 In the stillness, I rest.

Until next time, I will stay in Your presence and let hope overflow.
 Selah.
