đź’¬ Reflection:
What part of today’s meditation spoke most deeply to your heart? Share your thoughts - we’d love to hear from you.
Hello, and welcome to Selah – a sacred pause in the noise of life.
I invite you to find a quiet spot, free from distractions, where you can fully focus on God’s presence.
As we move through this meditation, engage your heart and mind—visualize the scriptures, let the words take root in your soul, and repeat the prayers.
Today, we’re reflecting on Micah 7:8 (NIV):
“Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”
This verse speaks to seasons of waiting, uncertainty, and heaviness—moments when clarity feels distant and hope feels dim.
God does not deny the darkness.
Instead, He promises His presence within it.
Let’s begin.
Close your eyes.
Take a slow, deep breath in…
Hold…
Exhale slowly…
“Quiet my heart, Lord. Help me to be fully present with You.
I rest in the knowledge that You are here,
shaping me, molding me, and completing a good work in me.”
I take another slow breath in…
And as I exhale, I allow my body to settle.
I don’t try to escape the darkness.
I don’t rush past it.
I simply acknowledge that I am here.
There are moments in life when clarity fades—
when answers feel distant and the way forward is unclear.
This is one of those moments.
And God’s Word meets me here:
Not running.
Not fixing.
Just sitting.
In this stillness, something begins to shift—not around me, but within me.
A quiet awareness.
A gentle reassurance.
Then the promise speaks again:
“…the Lord will be my light.”
Not all at once.
Not in blinding brightness.
But faithfully.
The darkness does not disappear,
but it loosens its grip.
The light does not demand movement.
It does not hurry me forward.
It simply stays.
I let this truth settle into my heart:
God is with me here.
Even now, He is my light.
I breathe in His presence…
I breathe out the need to understand.
I breathe in trust…
I breathe out fear.
I remain where I am—
held, seen, and guided—
one moment at a time.
Father, You see where I am sitting.
You know the weight I carry and the uncertainty I feel.
When I cannot see clearly, help me trust You.
When the way forward feels hidden, remind me that You are still guiding my steps.
I surrender my need to understand everything.
I choose to trust Your presence over my perception.
I breathe in Your light…
I breathe out my doubt.
I breathe in Your peace…
I breathe out my anxiety.
Take another deep breath in…
Hold…
Exhale slowly…
I speak these truths over my soul:
The Lord is my light.
I am not alone in this season.
God is with me, even here.
Darkness does not define my future.
Breathe in…
Hope.
Breathe out…
Fear.
Lord, thank You for being my light when I cannot see clearly.
Thank You for staying close when answers feel far away.
I trust You in the waiting.
I trust You in the quiet.
I trust You even here.
Guide my steps, steady my heart,
and remind me that You are faithful to finish the work You have begun in me.
Lord, I stay here with You.
In the quiet, I listen.
In the stillness, I rest.
Until next time, I will stay in Your presence and let hope overflow.
Selah.
