💬 Reflection:
What part of today’s meditation spoke most deeply to your heart? Share your thoughts - we’d love to hear from you.

Hello, and welcome to Selah – a sacred pause in the noise of life.
I invite you to find a quiet spot, free from distractions, where you can fully focus on God’s presence.
As we move through this meditation, engage your heart and mind—visualize the scriptures, let the words take root in your soul, and repeat the prayers.

 Today, we’re reflecting on 1 John 3:16:
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters."

Love is not abstract—it is revealed in action.
Jesus defined love not by words alone, but by His sacrifice on the cross.
His example calls us not only to receive His love, but also to embody it, living selflessly for others.

Let’s Begin.

"Quiet my heart, Lord. Help me to be fully present with You.
I rest in the knowledge that You are here,
shaping me, molding me, and completing a good work in me."

I imagine myself walking down a dusty road, and in the distance, I see a hill.
At the top of that hill stands a cross.
The sky above is darkened, heavy with sorrow, and yet filled with holy purpose.

I climb slowly, my feet heavy with the weight of what I’m witnessing.
At the crest of the hill, I look up—and there is Jesus.
His arms are stretched wide, not in anger, but in love.
The crown of thorns pierces His brow, His body bears the marks of suffering, yet His eyes radiate compassion.

I hear the scripture echo in my heart:
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us."

This is not a distant story.
This is love, displayed before me.
 Love that chose sacrifice.
Love that endured the cross so I might live.

As I stand at the foot of the cross, I feel both sorrow and gratitude.
And then, I hear the second part of the verse:
"And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters."

The love of Jesus is not only something I receive—it is something I am called to give.
 His sacrifice becomes my invitation:
 to live with compassion,
 to forgive when it’s hard,
to serve when it costs me something,
 to love beyond comfort.

I whisper:
“Thank You, Jesus, for showing me love in its truest form. Help me to love like You.”

"Lord Jesus, thank You for the cross.
Thank You for laying down Your life so I could live.
Teach me to follow Your example,
to love with patience, humility, and sacrifice.
Help me to lay down my pride, my selfishness, and my fears,
so that Your love may flow through me to others."

 Let’s take a deep breath in…
 Hold…
 Exhale slowly…

Now another deep breath in…
 Hold…
 Exhale slowly…

Speak these truths over your soul:

"Christ’s love defines me."
"I am deeply loved and fully forgiven."
"My life reflects the compassion of Jesus."
"I walk daily in His love."

"Thank You, Jesus, for the cross—where love was revealed in its fullness.
Help me to live each day remembering Your sacrifice.
May my life be a testimony of Your love,
serving others, forgiving freely, and walking humbly with You."

Until next time, I will stay in Your presence and let love overflow.
 Selah.
