Venus as Morning Star ~ What It Means When Venus Rises Before the Sun ✨
📍 Astrology isn't just about signs and symbols; it's a tool for navigating real life. Hello and welcome to Astrology with Alisa. I'm your host, Alisa Dixon, and I'm so glad you're here. Let's dive in. This weekend, I took a road trip with my daughter Lily, just the two of us, snacks packed, music playing, headed to the Midwest regionals for Ninja. If you've never seen a ninja competition, imagine obstacle courses with swinging ropes, balance obstacles,
jumps from trapeze bars to cliffhanger ledges that test grip strength and serious strength moves. It's a true sight to see watching these ninjas compete. Lily has been training all year, and she qualified to compete against some of the best girls in the region. There were 50 girls in her age group. Each athlete ran two courses, each packed with 10 to 12 obstacles.
They were scored based on who went the farthest, fastest, and completed the most obstacles. And let me tell you, these girls were fierce. One after another, they climbed, jumped, swung, and fought their way through. You could feel the fire in the room. Determination, grit. Passion. They didn't just wanna win.
They wanted to beat their own personal best. Lily crushed both courses. She hit the buzzer at the end of each one. Watching her up there, I kept thinking, this is Venus and Aries Energy —raw, fiery, independent. Unapologetically strong. Venus is the planet of love, beauty, joy, connection, and everything that brings us happiness.
But as an Aries, Venus does not wait patiently for love and luxury to arrive. She gets up, takes charge, and goes after it. She's bold, she's driven. And she's not afraid to make the first move, whether that's in love, creativity, or competition. Of course, Venus expresses differently depending on the sign, and this is true for every planet.
Each planet brings its own energy. But how that energy plays out depends on the Zodiac sign it's moving through. For example, Venus feels soft and sensual in Taurus and in Libra. Venus is charming and relationship-focused. In Aries, she is bold and adventurous, same planet, very different vibe.
Every sign of the Zodiac gives the planet a different outfit. A different way of showing up in the world. That's an added layer to our individuality in our birth charts. But then it gets even more interesting because Venus doesn't just express herself through the sign she's in. She also expresses differently, depending on when she rises in the sky.
I won't get into the full astronomy of it all right now, but here's what's good to know. Sometimes she appears before sunrise. And we call that a morning star, Venus. Other times, we see her in the evening after the Sun sets, and that's an evening star.
Venus Evening Star. Venus is more tender, more graceful, more classical. Venus Morning Star, Venus tends to be edgier. Boulder, she's got a bite to her fiery, fast-moving, and less about waiting for things to unfold. And right now, the Venus in the sky in real time, she's in Aries.
And she's showing up as a morning star, so we're all feeling a little more fiery when it comes to love, creativity, and desire. It's that collective 'take no prisoners' attitude. Venus Five. And as a bit of fun, side note, what's really fun for me is that this pattern actually shows up over three generations in my own family.
My mom. My daughter Lily and I have our natal Venus and Aries signs, but our birth charts differ. My mom has an evening star, Venus, Lily, and me. We have Morning Star, Venus, and yep, you can feel the difference with the three of us. My mom expresses love with warmth and softness. Lily and I.
Let's say we've got a little more bite, more fire, more of that, I'll do it myself, kind of Venus. It's incredible how these details shape a personality, and how astrology gives us the language to describe it. And going back to this weekend, when I looked around that gym, watching girl after girl after girl run these courses.
All of them strong, determined, fearless, flying through those courses, going after their personal best times, fighting through challenging obstacles. What I saw was the embodiment of Venus in Aries, powerful, passionate, competitive. Unapologetically bold. It wasn't about showing up pretty or polished. It was about heart, about fire, about showing up and going for it.
These girls weren't waiting to be chosen. They chose themselves, and that to me is precisely what Venus and Aries look like. Strong athletic warrior women. I just loved it. And of course, I'm super biased. I think Lily is excellent, but I loved watching all the girls give it their best. And next up is the Ninja World Championships.
In a few weeks, we get to do it all over again, and while all this Venus energy is clearly alive and well, there's something else happening this week that's shifting the energetic tone. Because the sky itself is changing.
Three planets are stepping into new Zodiac signs. The Sun just entered Gemini. Mercury follows in a few days, and Saturn moves into Aries on Saturday night. That's a significant, energetic movement. One, we're all going to feel. These three planets are leaving the earth and water signs, which carry feminine, or yin, energy.
Feminine energy is deep, receptive. Grounded. It's about building, processing, and holding space, but now all three are moving into fire and air signs, which are masculine. Also called Yang energy. It's quicker, lighter, and outward action-oriented. So if you've been feeling like things have been a little heavy or slow, this shift could bring a noticeable lift.
Fire and air signs stir things up. They inspire movement, conversation, and momentum. And with the Sun now in Gemini, our brightest star, we're all being invited to tap into that Gemini magic. Gemini energy is clever, quick, curious; it wants to know everything and then share it.
Geminis are natural connectors. They're always gathering information, trading ideas, and keeping conversations alive. Funny story. During these long stretches between course runs for our kids, I always end up doing a little astrology for my fellow ninja mom friends. One of them was curious about her rising sign and found her birth certificate, so we could know for sure.
But the birth time was smudged. She could see that it was around six o'clock. But couldn't tell if it was AM or pm. So I ran it both ways. And if it were 6:00 PM, her rising sign would be Sagittarius. If it were 6:00 AM, it would've been Gemini. It took me a whole two seconds to confidently say, Nope, you're definitely a Gemini rising.
It's definitely 6:00 AM. Why, you ask? Because your rising sign is how the world sees you. And from what I see, she is pure Gemini. She's the mom who always knows the hotel, the best lunch spot, and the following competition location, no matter what city we're in. She makes it her business to know everything about everything.
She's all about the details, the logistics, the information, and about sharing it with the rest of us — that's classic Gemini Energy. Now that the Sun is in Gemini, we all get to channel a bit of that vibe for the next month. We're all honorary Geminis.
That's what happens when the Sun goes from sign to sign. And funny enough, that's probably why I went into so much detail about Venus this week. You got a lot more information than you bargained for, didn't you?
And speaking of details, because Gemini energy is all about noticing the little things. Here's one more that matters to me. We also stayed to watch the boys run their courses. And they were incredible to watch, too. They worked just as hard. They brought just as much grit, strength, and focus. But for this episode, I was tuned into Venus, and Venus speaks to the feminine.
So while the boys blew me away, it was the girls who truly embodied that fierce, unapologetic, Venus and Aries energy that I wanted to highlight today.
And one more sign that we're in Gemini season. This week, I picked up a book to read just for pleasure —something fun and light, a departure from my typical reads: the deeper astrology books. Reading as a hobby —that's totally Gemini, and I'm loving it. So enjoy this energy shift. Let it lift you, let it stir up. New conversations, new curiosities, new movement.
I. And if this episode has sparked your curiosity about anything, maybe you're curious about your own natal Venus. I'd love to explore it with you. Your 📍 Venus sign helps you understand how you love, how you attract, and what brings you joy. It's such a powerful key to your relationship patterns and your self-worth.
So if you want to dive deeper, book a reading with me. I'd be honored to walk through it with you. My booking link is live on my website, and I'll leave the link in the show notes for you. If you're enjoying this show, please share it with a friend and take a moment to leave me a review. It helps more people find the podcast, and I truly wanna grow this fantastic community.
Thank you so much for listening. Until next time, take care.
