Void of Course Moons Explained ~ Why Things Feel Off & How to Work with Them ✨
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Why does everything feel like stop… go… stop… go right now?
In this episode, I’m breaking down the rhythm of the sky through the lens of void of course moons—and why certain days feel productive while others feel off, slow, or harder to move forward.
We talk about what a void moon actually is (in simple terms), what it’s good for, and how to work with this energy instead of against it.
I also touch on Uranus moving into Gemini and how this shift is changing the overall pace—bringing more of that start-stop feeling into our day-to-day lives.
If you’ve been running into unexpected delays or things just aren’t flowing the way you planned…
this might be why. ✨

Astrology isn’t just about signs and symbols, it’s a tool for navigating real life. Hello and welcome to Astrology with Alisa. I’m your host, Alisa Dixon, and I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s dive in.
You guys… do you remember that game Red Light, Green Light? Where you move forward… and then suddenly you have to stop. And if you don’t stop in time… you go all the way back to the beginning. It’s fun… but it’s also a lot of stop, go, stop, go.
Because that’s exactly what this week has been feeling like to me.
A few years ago, I took my kids to Connecticut to visit my parents. I grew up on 28 acres of woods, and there was this big open field where we used to play. So naturally, that’s where we took the kids. And at some point, my mom and I started playing Red Light, Green Light with them—which was actually their first time ever playing it.
And for whatever reason, that game came back to me this week. Because when I was looking at the sky and preparing for my Fun Astrology episode… this week looked exactly like that. Red light. Green light. Stop. Go.
Because now that Uranus has made his shift out of Taurus and into Gemini, we’re entering a different rhythm. And one of the things we’re starting to see are longer void of course moons.
And this week is a perfect example. Monday, the Moon was void all day. Thursday, she’s void for most of the day until about 3 PM. And then Saturday—void again all day. Three out of seven days.
That feels like red light, green light. Stop, go, stop, go.
Now obviously, we don’t stop living our lives because of what’s happening in the sky. But there are certain things a void of course Moon is really good for… and certain things it’s not. And having that awareness can help you avoid a lot of frustration.
So let’s talk about what that actually means.
A void of course Moon happens when the Moon has made all of the major aspects she’s going to make in a sign before she moves into the next one. So very simply—the Moon makes certain angles to the other planets, and once she’s done making those connections… it’s like she goes quiet. Like she’s just floating. Recharging.
I always think of it like the Wi-Fi goes out. And if you have kids… you know exactly what that feels like. The second the Wi-Fi is down, everything feels off. You can’t access what you normally can. Things don’t flow the same way.
And that’s what a void Moon can feel like.
The Moon is our satellite. She’s the fastest moving body in the sky. And she reflects the light of the Sun—which means we feel her. We feel the changes.
As she moves through the zodiac, we feel it in different ways. Air signs—more mental, a little detached. Fire signs—more reactive, more energized, sometimes quicker to anger. Earth signs—we want comfort, structure, something tangible. Water signs… get ready to feel.
And then on top of that, she’s making these connections to other planets… or not. And when she’s not—that’s the void. That’s the red light.
So what do we do with that? We don’t force things.
Void moons are not ideal for launching something new, starting a big project, making a major pitch, or having a really important conversation. Because things can feel a little off, disconnected, unclear.
But what they are great for… is creating. Dreaming. Brainstorming. Continuing work that’s already in motion. Resting. Reflecting. Processing.
Those are the red light moments.
And then when the Moon moves into the next sign… we’re back online. Green light. Go time.
And this rhythm… we’re going to be feeling this for a while.
I looked ahead into May, and every two to three days there’s a void Moon. And they’re long. Most of them are between 12 and 20 hours. There’s one over 30 hours long.
And I’ll tell you—I’ve got those days marked on my calendar. Not to stop my life… but to plan it better. Because if I need to start something new, or make a pitch, or have a big conversation, and I keep running into resistance… maybe it’s not me. Maybe it’s timing. And maybe I just shift that by a day. That’s it.
It’s not about control. It’s about awareness.
And my friend Kristin Lawhead said something recently that I loved. She said, “Astrology timing isn’t about controlling life—it’s about noticing the rhythm of the sky and adjusting your pace to match it.”
And that really stuck with me.
Because honestly… it reminded me of my dad.
For my entire life, he has encouraged me to slow down. To be observant. To notice what’s around me. He’s a Taurus Sun with a whole stellium in Taurus. So where I’m fast… he’s steady. Deliberate. Grounded.
He used to tell me to turn off the lights, go to bed earlier, sync up with nature. And I’ll be honest—it used to drive me crazy.
But here I am now… day after day… still moving fast in a lot of ways… but also noticing something different. Noticing patterns in the sky. Paying attention to the rhythm. Trying, in my own way, to align with it.
So… shout out to you, Dad. And happy birthday.
And as I’m sitting here recording this episode… I’m actually in one of these long void of course Moons. And what am I doing? Reflecting. Creating. Putting something together that’s already in motion. Exactly what this energy supports.
So if this week feels a little stop and go… just know you’re not imagining it. That’s the rhythm right now. Red light. Green light.
And if you work with it instead of against it… things tend to flow a lot more easily.
Alright you guys, I’ll be back with you next week. And I’m really excited about next week’s episode. I have a special guest joining me—my astrology teacher, Pam Gallagher from the Midwest School of Astrology. We have some really incredible things to share with you. We’re actually going to go a little deeper into the Moon… and I cannot wait for you to hear that conversation.
And just as a side note—even though we focused mostly on the Moon today—this Uranus shift is a really big deal. It’s bringing change in very real ways for a lot of people. So if you’re curious how this is showing up in your chart and how to best navigate it, I’d love to explore that with you. You can always reach out and book a reading. Those are some of my favorite conversations to have.
As always, I love and appreciate you all. Thanks again for listening. Take care… and I’ll see you next time.
