A baby bird. A Cancer New Moon. And a sky that feels completely different.

This week I'm sharing how Neptune stationing, Mercury Retrograde, Jupiter's move into Leo, and the upcoming Cancer New Moon all came together through a series of ordinary moments that turned into extraordinary reminders about trust, intuition, home, and making small intentional changes.

Sometimes the biggest shifts don't come from changing everything...

they come from changing one small thing.

Hello everyone. I am so happy to be back here with you guys today. It was so nice to unplug for a couple of weeks. I really needed it. And now that I’m home… the sky is so different than it was when I left. Planets have changed signs. Some have gone retrograde. Everything just has a different feel to it. And I’m excited to talk about it.

I came home thinking I’d jump right back into editing and releasing all those NORWAC videos. How very Gemini of me. And I did work on them. They’re actually coming together really nicely. And I was thinking… maybe this is finally the week I drop one of those interview episodes.

But then… life happened.

Lily had a friend over. The girls were out by the pool. And suddenly we heard this tiny little chirping sound. Not a regular bird. A baby bird. We started looking around… following the little chirp… and there he was. This tiny little fluffball. These giant awkward legs. Trying to hop. Trying to figure out life.

And of course… my first thought was… Where’s mama bird? Where’s the nest?

Then my astrology brain kicked in. And I laughed to myself, thinking… Man… where’s Jupiter in Cancer when you need it?

Because Jupiter had literally just left Cancer. The sign of home. Family. Nurturing. Protection. Jupiter expands whatever it touches. And in Cancer… that expansion shows up through care. Through love. Through looking after one another.

So I kept looking around… waiting for Mama Bird to swoop down and rescue this little guy. But she was nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile Lily was getting worried.

“Mom… I don’t think he’s eating.”

And I’m thinking… Well… we can’t feed him. We can’t touch him… or the mama bird might not come back.

So I finally said to her… “Well… if you really want to… go dig him up a worm.”

And oh my gosh… the look she gave me. I wish you could have seen it. She was like… Really Mom?

A few minutes later… that little bird hopped around… stopped… and pooped. Right in front of us.

And I laughed. I said… “Oh… he’s fine. If he’s pooping… he’s eating. He’s going to be just fine.”

And for whatever reason… that little moment stayed with me.

So later that night… after Lily’s friend left and things were winding down, Will wanted me to watch the World Cup game with him. Lily wanted to finish the movie we’d started before we left town.

And I could feel my Capricorn Moon doing what it always does. Looking at the clock. Thinking about work. Thinking about my schedule. Thinking about everything I wanted to get done. Specifically… continuing that NORWAC video edit. Because if I was going to release one of those interviews this week… I needed to keep working.

Not because anyone else was asking me to.

But because I was asking it of myself.

And then I caught myself.

I thought… What if I just stopped? What if I watched soccer? What if I finished the movie? And then after all that… what if I went to bed? Instead of staying up late to push through.

What if I trusted… that whatever needed to happen tomorrow… would happen tomorrow? That the right episode… would come when it was ready?

So… I did.

I chose my family.

I chose sleep.

And honestly… I chose myself.

The next morning… I woke up and went to the gym.

And I laughed.

Across the room from me was a woman wearing a shirt with one word across the front.

“Dramatic.”

And I laughed because all I could think was…

Well…

that’s Jupiter in Leo.

And that’s the moment when it all hit me.

The sky is completely different now than it was when I left.

The Sun, for one, is in Cancer. Jupiter has moved into Leo. Neptune is stationing retrograde this week. Mars has moved into Gemini. Mercury is retrograde in Cancer.

That’s a lot of shifting.

Everything feels different.

And what really has my attention this week… is Neptune.

Neptune is stationing. And whenever those outer planets station… we feel them for several days before… and several days after. It’s almost like they stand still in the sky.

Saying…

Pay attention to me.

And what I’m all about.

Neptune asks us to trust. To surrender. To stop forcing. To listen to that quiet inner knowing.

And honestly… I think that’s exactly what happened the night before.

That quiet little voice… telling me to pause. To stop looking at the clock. To stop forcing. To watch the game. Finish the movie. Go to bed. Trust that the work would still be there tomorrow.

No doubt in my mind… that was Neptune.

And what I find so interesting… is that the Sun is now in Cancer, a water sign. And while Neptune is in Aries… Neptune rules Pisces… and carries a lot of that Piscean energy. And Pisces and Cancer are both intuitive water signs.

They’re receptive.

They invite us inward.

They ask us to slow down.

To listen.

To soften.

To trust what we already know.

And with Neptune standing still in the sky this week… commanding our attention… and the Sun shining through Cancer… that intuitive, receptive energy is so strong right now.

Then I looked at Mars.

Mars is how we take action.

And Mars in Gemini means that the way we’re taking action right now… is filtered through Mercury.

And Mercury… is retrograde… in Cancer.

So even our action… our drive… is being invited to slow down. To reflect. To come from a quieter place. Not rushing ahead. Not forcing. Just noticing.

Mercury Retrograde in Cancer is asking us to look back. Because Jupiter has just finished an entire year in Cancer.

What did that year teach you?

What grew?

What expanded?

How did your home change?

Your family?

The way you care for yourself?

And now what?

Here’s why I love astrology so much.

That’s what makes all of this so timely.

Because next week… we have a New Moon in Cancer.

A chance to begin again.

Not just in our literal homes.

But in the feeling of home.

How do you want home to feel?

How do you want your family to experience you?

How do you want to nurture yourself?

Because Cancer is ruled by the Moon. Our most personal planet. Our most private planet. The part of us that doesn’t need an audience.

Which means your New Moon intention doesn’t have to be big. Or dramatic. Or loud.

It may not even be noticeable to anyone else.

It might simply be choosing one more hour together. Going to bed a little earlier. Saying yes instead of no. Letting home feel a little more like home.

For me… I realized something so simple.

I love this work.

I truly do.

But I also love watching the World Cup games with Will. Falling asleep next to Lily during a movie. Saying yes to one more hour together.

Those moments matter too.

So that’s my Cancer New Moon intention.

Not a dramatic life change.

Just one quiet one.

One small shift.

A little more trust.

A little less forcing.

A pause and a choice… that helps make home feel a little more like home.

And maybe… that’s what this sky is inviting all of us to do.

Not reinvent our lives.

Just be aware.

And make one small quiet change.

One intentional shift.

And it’s funny…

I keep thinking about that little bird.

At the time… I had no idea why he had made such an impression on me.

But by the next morning… after the bird… the soccer game… the movie… the lady at the gym… and all these shifts in the sky…

I realized…

this little bird had quietly become the thread connecting all of this together for me.

At first… I was convinced he needed someone to rescue him.

But maybe… he was never looking to be rescued.

Maybe… he was just figuring out how to be a bird.

And maybe Jupiter spent the last year in Cancer… giving us exactly what we needed.

Helping us grow.

Helping us feel supported.

And now…

it’s our turn.

To wobble a little.

To trust ourselves.

To make one small quiet change.

And to realize…

we’ve got this.

Before I go… I have one more really exciting thing to share with you.

My friend Emily, from Emily Lunar Astrology in the UK, has invited me to be a guest on her YouTube Live show on Sunday, July 19th.

That’s one week from this upcoming Sunday.

And you guys…

I am so excited.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect because we’re going to be talking all about Cancer season themes… home… family… nurturing ourselves… intuition… and really weaving together the threads that connect us to the people we love.

Knowing Emily, it’s going to be a really thoughtful conversation.

If you’d like to join us live… mark your calendar for Sunday, July 19th at 10:00 AM Eastern / 3:00 PM UK time.

How cool is that?!

I’ll put the link in the show notes so it’s easy to find.

I would absolutely love to see some familiar names in the chat.

As always…

I love and appreciate you all.

Thank you so much for listening.

Take care…

and I’ll see you next time.
