The Art of Consolidation: Why We Need Time to Process Life's Changes

Lita, Goddess of Growth

Send Lita Goddess of Growth encouragement

Life moves in seasons, and sometimes we find ourselves thrust unexpectedly into periods of drought. This raw, reflective episode explores what happens when everything we once relied upon for security suddenly disappears.

Drawing from my personal journey through financial uncertainty—where money would appear then vanish without warning—I share how this instability forced me to question everything from my home to my purpose. The drought taught me a powerful truth: we cannot outrun our lessons. No matter how fast we work or how desperately we try to escape difficult circumstances, true growth only comes when we walk through challenges deliberately and absorb their teachings.

Most of us rush from one life phase to another without pausing to consolidate our experiences. We celebrate briefly when difficulties end or immediately shift into recovery mode, desperately trying to make up lost ground. This hurried approach prevents us from properly processing what we've lived through and integrating valuable insights. Consolidation—taking intentional time to absorb, meditate on, and fully process transitions—is essential for breaking cycles and preparing for authentic new beginnings.

Whether you're emerging from debt, ending a relationship, recovering from illness, or navigating any significant life transition, I encourage you to resist filling newly cleared space immediately. Through journaling, meditation, retreat, or whatever practice resonates with you, allow yourself to consolidate before moving forward. Share your thoughts about this process in the comments—I'd love to hear how you've handled periods of tra

Speaker 1:

Hi there, lita, goddess of Growth, and I have a number of reflections today. At this point, I want to address this concept of consolidation. It's dawned on me. I have come out of a season of droughts, and when I talk about droughts, I mean everything that I was used to and thought of as giving me security disappeared. Now. Is that 100% true? Well, I'm still in my home that I moved into by way of a mortgage in 2020, so that is there, but it's my understanding. Those things that were no longer necessary have been removed. My personal experience finances disappeared. It was a huge fluctuation. One minute it was there, then it was gone. Then it was there, then it was gone. There was no security, there was no regular flow. There wasn't a regular flow. Nothing I could say month to month. I will definitely be able to do xyz, as I used to be able to, and I know the energy of the season shifted. End of July and I was still scrabbling right up until I was able to increase work hours in August, but even then, august pay I was still struggling.

Speaker 1:

September we are here, still struggling, and it reminds me about life that we all are go. We all do go through things, and when that thing ends, there's a relief. Sometimes we might celebrate if we remember to. Sometimes we get into auto mode trying to catch up, but often we do not give our time, ourself time to consolidate. And when I say consolidate, take time out to fully absorb, meditate on and breathe in this moment of change, because as much as the significant thing has changed, there's still a residue of change and the things that need to change that remain. The clear out still continues. Whether it's that partner that you've been wanting to leave for, however long, whether it's the family relationship that you've needed to change and you've only just had confidence to speak up for yourself. Whatever it is, there are things that are attached Belongings, where we live, how we dress, how we speak, how we look after ourselves. They still remain Things that we still need to address. Whether we put on weight or lost weight because of circumstances, at the end of those circumstances, there are still things today I you, we need to address, but sometimes we don't get the time. We don't give it the time to do that work because other things start coming to play. The new chapter edges its way, new commitments, so much so that sometimes we forget where it is we're coming from, or even probably don't have that time to acknowledge and give thanks for. Okay, that has now ended. This is a new beginning, which is why I think sometimes we do get into this cycle of believing that nothing ever changes, because we don't have that moment of pause to reflect and consolidate, whether it be journaling, meditating, taking a retreat. So I find myself in my home.

Speaker 1:

I spoke about spending a number of years just working from early morning till late at night 12, 1 o'clock at night and not making any money, and going again the next day, the next day, the next day, to the point where, when I felt the shift in the season, I started to feel that actually I need to get a new house, because all this work to keep a roof over my head had to question if it was worth it Really. What was I working for? What was it all about? I persevere because I have a passion, I have an interest and I need to do the work, but not in the way I've been doing it, trying to outrun the season. We cannot outrun our lesson. I've learnt that I need to go through the lesson and walk through the lesson, and only when the lesson has been absorbed will the season that I am entering present Never before its time. So I know now and I suppose at 50, there's a number of seasons in my life that I've tried to outrun, and I understand why, because I've never been one to sleep really. During the day I can nap if it's like a hot location or so, but I'm not really like have a deep sleep. I'm getting dark eyes because of it, because once I'm up, that's it. I'm up. But I can see why. There are people that when they're going through change, they stay in bed. That must be so lovely to do. Just stay in bed and just ride the season out If you've got the opportunity to do so, or take a flight and travel somewhere else If you've got the opportunity to do so.

Speaker 1:

I do believe now, where we are affects our energy, not just our house, the town, the village, the space, the environment that we are in. And if you've got the resources, great. However, I do believe if you're able to go away, it's because it was destined for you to go away. I really don't believe that the lessons that we've come here to learn, we can just decide to fly to a different destination to avoid those lessons. I don't believe that. Who knows right? So this is Lita, goddess of growth, and the reflection at this time is on consolidation, taking time out.

Speaker 1:

So if you've had years of debt, I know some people. They go into liquidation or bankruptcy, however it is, and I can imagine the relief of not having collectors or what have you asking for money either way. There must come a point where one consolidates and questions how it is. Why is they were in that situation? I know for myself. I could have been close to that situation many a time. I've had so many loans, gifts, interjections along the way. So I have been very fortunate. I will never say I never had help. I would have loved a lot more, but you know we always want more, right? Ideally, I would have liked to have not been in the situation in the first place and continued to earn what I'm used to earning, but it was my season of drought, and when I say drought, I had everything that I needed to make money in my life Everything. But no matter what I tried, the money just was not flowing in this direction Because it wasn't supposed to. The season has come to an end.

Speaker 1:

Take time to consolidate and if you need assistance in consolidating, my services are available. Yes, I am working on my website. You've got the hot page as well. You can drop me a message, lita, goddess of growth, and you can let me know what it is that you need some support on. I can do the basics go through bills, budget. I can do the spiritual, the packages about yourself, your brand strategy.

Speaker 1:

I do not believe in creating goals for the sake of goals.

Speaker 1:

We can all do that. What I do is tap into your time and your season and work with you so that you're in a better headspace, more aligned with the changes that have been taking place and can be more in tune with where you are today. Until we get to being in today, it's sometimes often most difficult to get in alignment with the many changes that's happening through us and around us every day and it truly is every day, whether or not we take time to reflect or acknowledge it. Take time to reflect or acknowledge it. So you've been listening to Lita of Goddess of Growth today and the topic is on consolidation. If you have any ideas or comments about this idea of allowing yourself time to really truly consolidate your experience I'm not talking about your whole life experience to zero till now, but just your last season, taking that time so that the lessons can be greaterly, greater absorbed and you're in a position to give thanks, breathe and let go and be ready for the next step. Let me know, in your comments on this podcast, your thoughts. Thank you.
