This is Tim Dellis. Welcome to Jesus Guys, a discipleship lifestyle, brought to you by menofbravery.com. This is week number six of a 10-part series, and this week's theme is centered around the question: what message did Jesus want us to hear? And I want to begin by sharing that the readings of scripture this week are going to start and finish with that, I believe, a powerful message that Jesus wanted us to hear. And the first is do not weary. And the last scripture that you'll be reading this week is to seek first the kingdom of God. And that comes from the root of do not weary. So I want to share with you in Matthew chapter six, verses 25 through 35, just a quick summary of that, and you can read the details of those verses in your daily reading. But it's about the birds of the air and how if we were to weary, could we add one day of life? And the answer is no. And to worry, we are actually stealing from ourselves our own lives. So do not worry is really the bookmark of this week's discipleship lifestyle. Personally, I can only imagine what Jesus was doing when he would go to a place of solitude, when he would be alone, when he would be praying. And one of the things I imagine is that Jesus would count the birds. I find for me that is something that I do that's very tangible daily, is I'll see a bird, and if I see a few, I'll attempt to count them. And I find it it just allows my thoughts to not think about anything else. And I can't worry while I'm doing that. And then it reminds me of the tangible example of the birds being cared for. And if the birds are cared for, how much more will my heavenly father care for me? So this week, as we study, what message did Jesus want us to hear? You'll continue on in your reading on day number two about the Sermon on the Mount, and you'll also then continue into the salt and light message, the love your enemies message, the love your neighbors, and also the don't be afraid message. I hope you're encouraged as you read this week. And my single question to myself is if Jesus wanted us to remember these messages, would these messages be something we would want others to remember as well? And so to repeat them frequently is something I want to encourage you to do. Is that this may be one of those weeks that you go back and you reread some of these messages from Jesus? Because they're really the way our lives should be lived. That we should live with the attitude of not worrying, of not being afraid, of being salt and light. And he shows us in these messages not only the way to live, but the way to look at life. And the observing of our daily world can be extremely distorted when we don't see it through the lens of how Jesus sees the world, because heaven and earth are not the same, but thy kingdom come. And so here on earth, we have to seek his peace and his presence. And to know Jesus, it's not just to know the scripture, but it's to experience his presence. And through these messages of Jesus, I hope and pray that you find his presence in your life. So thanks for being a part of Jesus, guys. I believe the disciples were the bravest men whom ever walked the planet. And now tag your it. Thanks for being on this journey, a discipleship lifestyle with Jesus guys. Brought to you by menofbravery.com. I'm Tim Dellis, and until next time, continue to listen to the teachings of Jesus.
