This is Tim Dutellas. Welcome to Jesus Guys, the Discipleship Lifestyle, brought to you by menofbravery.com. This is actually week number 10 of a 10-part series, and I'm so glad that you're here because this week's emphasis is on the single question: what did Jesus leave us? On our journey in the last 10 weeks, it has been about discovering the teachings of Jesus and then looking into the lives of those that were the Jesus guys, the disciples that were the closest to him. And then we get to listen and learn and then live out these truths and these lessons. And today, as we talk about what did Jesus leave us, I want to begin by remembering from week one that Jesus is the ultimate authority. And so we listen to him the most. And today, as I reflect on what did Jesus leave us, you can read the daily scriptures at jesusguise.com. Each day there's some verses for you to read to help answer this question. But I'm going to begin and end with the first scripture that we share this week. And it's about the Holy Spirit that Jesus leaves us. He says, I give the Holy Spirit to you as a guide. And as we live our lives each and every day, physically, Jesus may not be standing next to us, but he lives in us. And in us, we sense the Holy Spirit. And we get to yield to the Spirit. And it's so important daily to welcome the Holy Spirit to be your guide, the ultimate guide for life. And through the Holy Spirit, we then get to sense what God would want for us. And one of the things that we read about this week, and it's really bigger than a thing, it's the big win. I believe it is what winning looks like as we are a Jesus guy. And that is the peace of God. Being Jesus, guys, we get to lean into something that is supernatural. Jesus came as the Prince of Peace. And the ultimate win in our lives is not wealth, it's not status, it's not material possessions, it's not even influence. It's the peace of God. And so Jesus gives to us his peace. I like to pray the Lord's Prayer. We talked about that on one of the weeks here with Jesus, guys. On what did Jesus pray? And peace has been a prayer for me. And it simply goes like this peace is here. Peace is here. Because if Jesus is in me and the Holy Spirit is guiding me, then peace is here. So I pray that. Standing somewhere, driving somewhere, looking somewhere, it's like peace is here. I can look over there and go, what's happening? But right here, peace is here. And as we reflect on what did Jesus leave us, I want to ask us, what do we leave others? After somebody is in proximity to you, in your presence, around you, spending time with you, listening to you, do you leave them peace? Do you bring truly what Jesus brought to us, to others? Does your life share the peace of the Holy Spirit in God's presence with others? So that when somebody is with you, it's not that they want to leave, but they want to lean in. What is it? And see, when that happens for us as Jesus, guys, our discipleship becomes alive. And it begs the question how do you have so much peace? Where does that come from? And then we get to begin to do what Jesus invited us to do. Come, follow me, and then I will send you out to fish for people. So when they see the peace, feel the peace, experience the peace of God in you, then you get to introduce them to Jesus. And that's what discipleship is all about. In week number nine, we talked about the Great Commission. Go and make disciples. And so today, I want to encourage you. And the final scripture that we read for this week, it comes from 1 Peter chapter 1, verses 3 through 5, and it talks about the hope of the world. Jesus is the hope of the world. And so I am so grateful that we have Jesus in our lives, that we can be Jesus guys, that we can be his disciples, endless learners of who Jesus is, what he taught us, and to observe his teachings through the disciples that followed him so bravely, the Jesus guys. So thanks for being on this journey with me. Again, you can read the scriptures for this week at JesusGuys.com and listen to the song of the week. But thank you for being on this journey. Congratulations. You have reached week number 10. But please invite anyone to experience any of the Jesus Guys episodes at JesusGuys.com. And I thank you for being on this journey.
