0:00:04 - (Stacy Covitz): . Today we're talking about brand new accounts. Specifically, I want to go over 11 things to know before you hit publish on your very first campaign.
0:00:40 - (Stacy Covitz): But I want to give you some really great reasons why even if you think you're not ready to start running ads, that you start with some low cost ads, you set up your ad account and you just start getting going. And I'm going to tell you why. I already just mentioned one of them and that is to warm up your account. Here's the thing. Facebook Meta, whatever you call it, doesn't trust strangers. And that makes sense, right?
0:01:13 - (Stacy Covitz): New accounts on Facebook are watched really closely. They get flagged for reasons that sometimes don't make any sense. Here's another reason. If you wait until you are ready to launch a new product or scale your business or do something fabulous and you want good results, there's a good chance you're going to be surprised, you're going to get flagged, you might get your account shut down. And I'm not saying these things to scare you.
0:01:44 - (Stacy Covitz): I'm saying these things because go back to the first reason, which is Facebook doesn't like strangers and they will look at all new accounts with a very close microscope and they've got their bots ready to go to flag things that just don't even make sense. And the second reason is you want to avoid surprises. I've seen accounts that are ready to go and people are ready to launch and then it's a back and forth with meta. We, you know, we don't want, we're not going to accept your payment. Well, why not? And then, you know, a week down the road they finally get to the bottom of it and Meta doesn't like that. It's a credit union. I mean there's, there's a million things that could cause some, some glitches and really delay your campaign.
0:02:34 - (Stacy Covitz): And you don't want that, right? So let's, let's set it up. Let's start running some, some low cost ads right away. A dollar two a day. So your pixel. Now we, if you don't know about the pixel, go back to that episode. I don't know what episode it is. I think it's three or four, maybe listen to why you need a pixel. So once you have your pixel, think of it as like your ad account's brain. It is going to learn all kinds of data and the sooner you start teaching it, the better.
0:03:10 - (Stacy Covitz): So spend a $2 a day, get your pixel seasoned. And that way, when you're ready to really go after, you know, more business or new clients or something like that, using ads, your pixel already knows who you are, what you do, and your audience. All right, let's get into what you should know. When your ad account is brand new, you'll have a spending cap that's surprising to a lot of people. I don't know how they come up with it, but it might be $4 a day, it might be $20 a day.
0:03:42 - (Stacy Covitz): There's some really large ad accounts that get stuck at $50 a day. I don't know why. So that's number one, you'll have a spending cap. Number two, they're watching, Facebook is watching. They're going to make sure that you're a real business and that you're not doing anything that's against their policies and procedures. Get your pixel seasoned, get it done, get it, get it going as soon as possible.
0:04:06 - (Stacy Covitz): Which is what I already talked about. Another tip, you should know accounts are flagged randomly, but they're common. So don't let it freak you out. It, it might happen. It could happen. And there's ways to work through that. So don't let that freak you out. It's a common situation. And I had mentioned this before, don't wait until launch day. Get all of the kinks worked out before you're ready to really see some incredible results with your ads.
0:04:38 - (Stacy Covitz): Number six, keep your business funnel, everything consistent. So what that means is don't have a clickbaity type ad. Don't have a cute little puppy that people are going to click on thinking that you're selling puppies. And then have it be a, oh, surprise. This is for a dentist. So keep everything consistent. Number seven, start testing early. This is the perfect time when you're doing those one or $2 a day ads.
0:05:08 - (Stacy Covitz): Start testing your messaging. Start testing your audiences. You know, with low ticket ads like that, it's a pretty cost effective way to really test what you, what your marketing is doing. Number eight, don't go big too fast just because something is working at a dollar or $2 a day and Facebook says, hey, guess what, you can spend $100 a day. Don't just go from a dollar to a hundred dollars because that's another reason why they might flag you, even though it was their suggestion.
0:05:44 - (Stacy Covitz): There's no rhyme or reason, honestly. Number nine, engagement matters. Facebook is watching. They're watching to see if you're, if you're sharing good content, if you have the right messaging and creatives that's attracting the right type of people. And the more you do that, the better your ads are going to perform and the more likely Facebook is going to be sending your ads to the right people. Number 10, be real.
0:06:14 - (Stacy Covitz): Really beautifully polished graphics and professional photos. Absolutely have a place and there's many businesses that that's all they need. But if you are a small business, solopreneur business, use your face as well. People want to see again, especially in this AI world that we're living in. And number 11, it's a marathon, not a sprint. If you have the time, you know, invest a little bit of money all the time.
0:06:48 - (Stacy Covitz): Like I said, a dollar a day, 300amonth, something like that. And you just keep ads running. By the time you're ready to really see some growth in your business and you're ready for that growth, you've already got all the data. You've already got all the data. It's gold. It's golden. So go gather it for a low cost amount and again, don't wait. Get your ad account up and running. Take these tips. Don't freak out if your account gets flagged and you can always reach out.
