Yeah. So I've been"},{"startTime":233.12,"endTime":236.96,"body":"in marketing for 30 years. I'm dating myself a little bit here and I've"},{"startTime":236.96,"endTime":240.44,"body":"also been a university marketing professor online"},{"startTime":240.76,"endTime":244.44,"body":"since 2005. I actually still teach. A lot of people don't know this,"},{"startTime":244.77,"endTime":248.53,"body":"but I'm still teaching in the graduate level, teaching like business"},{"startTime":248.61,"endTime":252.33,"body":"courses and marketing courses for a university. So I've been doing this"},{"startTime":252.33,"endTime":255.33,"body":"online business thing for a few years now, since around 2017."},{"startTime":256.13,"endTime":259.93,"body":"And I've had various adventures over the time when one of"},{"startTime":259.93,"endTime":263.45,"body":"those bigger adventures has been launching a brand from"},{"startTime":263.45,"endTime":267.09000000000003,"body":"scratch. Literally a domain name purchase a few years"},{"startTime":267.09000000000003,"endTime":270.65,"body":"ago, which was my hobby school brand. And that's been"},{"startTime":270.65,"endTime":273.96000000000004,"body":"fun growing that up from absolutely"},{"startTime":273.96000000000004,"endTime":277.6,"body":"nothing to. We have around 32,000 people on our email list"},{"startTime":277.6,"endTime":281.4,"body":"now. We do online learning, virtual summits and all types"},{"startTime":281.4,"endTime":285.12,"body":"of hobby type niches. And we have some memberships too in that"},{"startTime":285.12,"endTime":288.76,"body":"particular brand. And that's in addition to my personal brand, which I'm here"},{"startTime":288.76,"endTime":292.48,"body":"representing today. And you have shops on"},{"startTime":292.48,"endTime":296.32,"body":"both sides of your business, right? That's correct. We have a Shopify store full of"},{"startTime":296.32,"endTime":300.14,"body":"digital products in hobby school and I have one in my personal"},{"startTime":300.14,"endTime":303.86,"body":"brand. It's called hello Content. So it's hello Content Shop. I"},{"startTime":303.86,"endTime":307.65999999999997,"body":"used your digital shop experience course to set all of those up and it's just"},{"startTime":307.65999999999997,"endTime":310.86,"body":"been very helpful to get those started. I"},{"startTime":310.86,"endTime":314.34000000000003,"body":"definitely want to put a little bit more"},{"startTime":314.34000000000003,"endTime":317.65999999999997,"body":"effort into those and that's one of my goals in the"},{"startTime":318.14,"endTime":321.94,"body":"later part of this year is to really dig into that and figure out how"},{"startTime":321.94,"endTime":325.63,"body":"I can drive more organic traffic to those shops. Now, what kind of"},{"startTime":325.63,"endTime":329.39,"body":"products are in the hobby school shop? So"},{"startTime":329.39,"endTime":333.07,"body":"a lot of our online learning virtual summit, so we have"},{"startTime":333.23,"endTime":336.95,"body":"those packages there and that's probably the majority"},{"startTime":336.95,"endTime":340.23,"body":"of the products. When people are coming to that shop, that's what they like to"},{"startTime":340.23,"endTime":343.79,"body":"buy, right? They want to go back and get the harvest to Table"},{"startTime":343.79,"endTime":347.31,"body":"Summit that we did a year ago or whatever. Lots of"},{"startTime":347.39,"endTime":351.19,"body":"low cost digital products like journals and planners and"},{"startTime":351.19,"endTime":354.79,"body":"those type of things are also in that shop. Do you happen to use"},{"startTime":354.79,"endTime":357.99,"body":"PLR products at all? Yes, I do."},{"startTime":358.39,"endTime":362.23,"body":"So I'm. I use Evelyn Weiss's I Can't Remember what it's"},{"startTime":362.23,"endTime":365.91,"body":"called. Perfect Secret Weapon. I may be getting that wrong. So don't quote me on"},{"startTime":365.91,"endTime":369.629,"body":"that. Look it up. Yeah. So I do love her. I"},{"startTime":369.629,"endTime":373.39,"body":"love her designs of her products. So a lot of times I'll"},{"startTime":373.39,"endTime":377.23,"body":"take like those planners that she has done or those journals that she"},{"startTime":377.23,"endTime":380.73,"body":"has done in that particular program and customize them for our"},{"startTime":380.73,"endTime":384.57,"body":"hobby school audience and the level. And for anyone who doesn't know what"},{"startTime":384.57,"endTime":388.33,"body":"PLR is it's private label rights and it's essentially you buy the content,"},{"startTime":388.33,"endTime":391.85,"body":"it's already pre created content. But I always tell people I don't teach"},{"startTime":391.85,"endTime":395.69,"body":"PLR just because I like, you've been doing this a long time and"},{"startTime":395.69,"endTime":398.49,"body":"you realize that, oh, I can't just take the PLR and dump it in my"},{"startTime":398.49,"endTime":402.01,"body":"shop. You have to personalize it still. And I saw so many people that would"},{"startTime":402.01,"endTime":404.77,"body":"just take the PLR and be like, here, I'm going to go sell it. It's"},{"startTime":404.77,"endTime":408.53,"body":"like, now you're just a dime a dozen. You have to still infuse yourself"},{"startTime":408.53,"endTime":411.53,"body":"into it. I think that has been the biggest thing I've been talking about with"},{"startTime":411.53,"endTime":415.17,"body":"AI and the differentiation. Because I have to, I get"},{"startTime":415.17,"endTime":419.01,"body":"targeted. TikTok's like my place of the world for my personal consumption. I've"},{"startTime":419.01,"endTime":422.25,"body":"said I know I'm missing out not having my businesses on there. But it's just"},{"startTime":422.25,"endTime":426.01,"body":"give me something, give me an app that doesn't. My brand doesn't"},{"startTime":426.01,"endTime":429.61,"body":"have to follow me to. But I get targeted with the worst bros who are"},{"startTime":429.61,"endTime":432.61,"body":"like, we're just going to create an ebook and you're going to make $10,000 next"},{"startTime":432.61,"endTime":436.04,"body":"month. I'm like, bro, not the way it works. And plus,"},{"startTime":436.44,"endTime":440.28,"body":"if all you're doing is plugging something into ChatGPT, pulling it out and"},{"startTime":440.28,"endTime":444.12,"body":"making it a product, anyone can do that. That's"},{"startTime":444.12,"endTime":447.44,"body":"not gonna set you apart. And if you flood the market with that, people are"},{"startTime":447.44,"endTime":450.84,"body":"still not dumb. Like they, you might get a little ways to it, but then"},{"startTime":450.84,"endTime":453.64,"body":"they're gonna clue into the fact that I can do this on my own. I"},{"startTime":453.64,"endTime":456.68,"body":"don't need to buy a product for this. So I feel like that's a good"},{"startTime":456.68,"endTime":460.49,"body":"way. Let's talk about how AI is as digital product creators"},{"startTime":460.49,"endTime":463.77,"body":"who've been doing this for a long time, how it is changing how you're approaching"},{"startTime":463.77,"endTime":467.53,"body":"your business. Yeah. So to your point there, I just want to"},{"startTime":467.53,"endTime":470.53,"body":"take it a little step further. So to give you an example of how we"},{"startTime":470.53,"endTime":474.29,"body":"have customized one of those offers that we have in hobby school."},{"startTime":474.53,"endTime":477.45,"body":"And I really love this example because I got a lot of feedback on it."},{"startTime":477.45,"endTime":480.77,"body":"People loved it. We had a Halloween costume planner"},{"startTime":481.09,"endTime":484.93,"body":"that we had launched and one of the things we did was created"},{"startTime":484.93,"endTime":488.53,"body":"a custom GPT so that when they were"},{"startTime":488.53,"endTime":492.13,"body":"going through the planner, it was almost as if they had"},{"startTime":492.13,"endTime":495.81,"body":"a costume designer sitting next to them helping them"},{"startTime":495.81,"endTime":499.61,"body":"design their Halloween costume. And people were like, this is genius. We"},{"startTime":499.61,"endTime":503.41,"body":"loved it. It helped them take that planner and really take it"},{"startTime":503.41,"endTime":506.97,"body":"to the next level. So I think you're right on track. Right. When you"},{"startTime":506.97,"endTime":510.61,"body":"say you've got to customize these type of products"},{"startTime":511.17,"endTime":514.8299999999999,"body":"100%. But it's a great example of what I'd want people to do. Not"},{"startTime":514.8299999999999,"endTime":518.6700000000001,"body":"just take the PLR and throw it into their shop, because teaching shops, that's"},{"startTime":518.6700000000001,"endTime":521.51,"body":"what I found a lot of people doing. And I started pushing back. I'm like,"},{"startTime":521.51,"endTime":524.79,"body":"no, that's not going to create a successful shop. So that was a great example."},{"startTime":524.79,"endTime":528.4300000000001,"body":"So thank you for sharing that. Yeah. Okay, so now"},{"startTime":528.51,"endTime":532.03,"body":"moving into offer shifting and what you're doing to"},{"startTime":532.4300000000001,"endTime":536.23,"body":"combat, I said before we got on the call, I feel like AI,"},{"startTime":536.23,"endTime":538.8299999999999,"body":"We've been through a lot in this online business space, being in it as long"},{"startTime":538.8299999999999,"endTime":542.6700000000001,"body":"as we had and there's been hard things. New laws get passed, Facebook"},{"startTime":542.6700000000001,"endTime":546.51,"body":"ads change and we adapt. But I do feel like AI is coming at"},{"startTime":546.51,"endTime":549.71,"body":"us so fast that we're laying down the track and then rolling over it. And"},{"startTime":549.71,"endTime":553.55,"body":"sometimes I feel like the track's not even there anymore and it's just, it's"},{"startTime":553.55,"endTime":557.35,"body":"changing our efficiencies and how we can work. And then it's like we're"},{"startTime":557.35,"endTime":560.31,"body":"so much in the back ends, even shifting of how we run the business, but"},{"startTime":560.31,"endTime":564.0699999999999,"body":"then how we're showing up for our people. Yeah. So"},{"startTime":564.0699999999999,"endTime":567.72,"body":"I saw the writing on the wall about two years ago and I"},{"startTime":567.72,"endTime":571.2,"body":"really started revamping all of my offers. And"},{"startTime":571.2,"endTime":574.56,"body":"that's when I decided, you know what, I'm going to move."},{"startTime":575.9200000000001,"endTime":579.28,"body":"Not going to say completely away from these self study type"},{"startTime":579.28,"endTime":582.96,"body":"courses, but I did that for, to a large extent and moved into"},{"startTime":583.04,"endTime":586.8,"body":"more of a coaching slash workshop"},{"startTime":586.88,"endTime":590.6800000000001,"body":"model. So just to give you an example, in all of"},{"startTime":590.6800000000001,"endTime":594.48,"body":"my B2B type memberships that I have, and I have three of those right"},{"startTime":594.48,"endTime":597.85,"body":"now, between hobby school and my personal brand, I do one"},{"startTime":598.09,"endTime":601.77,"body":"live workshop every month just so I can get in front of people"},{"startTime":601.77,"endTime":605.29,"body":"because people were wanting that support from me that you don't"},{"startTime":605.29,"endTime":608.97,"body":"necessarily get in those self study type courses. I do the"},{"startTime":609.05,"endTime":612.61,"body":"private podcast to answer all their questions so they can ask"},{"startTime":612.61,"endTime":616.37,"body":"unlimited questions and I will answer them in the"},{"startTime":616.37,"endTime":619.61,"body":"private podcast to make sure that people were"},{"startTime":619.77,"endTime":623.57,"body":"fully supported and they just weren't stuck out there. Because I do think"},{"startTime":623.57,"endTime":627.25,"body":"with the self study courses, the static"},{"startTime":627.25,"endTime":631.01,"body":"content number one, things are changing a lot and it's hard to keep that updated."},{"startTime":631.01,"endTime":634.69,"body":"And with these monthly live workshops, I could really stay on top of"},{"startTime":635.17,"endTime":638.57,"body":"what people were asking right now and getting their"},{"startTime":638.57,"endTime":642.25,"body":"questions answered. I think that's, quite frankly, that's what people want from"},{"startTime":642.25,"endTime":646.05,"body":"me. They want that support. They want me as"},{"startTime":646.05,"endTime":649.89,"body":"a business owner, as a graduate business professor."},{"startTime":649.89,"endTime":653.49,"body":"They want that support and that insight from me. And quite frankly, they can't"},{"startTime":653.49,"endTime":657.11,"body":"get what I can do via AI. So it is a unique"},{"startTime":657.11,"endTime":660.87,"body":"differentiator. Yeah, 100%. Okay, so let's talk about these workshops"},{"startTime":660.87,"endTime":664.47,"body":"because so I have noticed writing on the wall as well"},{"startTime":664.47,"endTime":668.03,"body":"with evolutions even in my workshop. So we had a very successful"},{"startTime":668.03,"endTime":671.51,"body":"run of doing what we call Quick Win workshops. They're such good"},{"startTime":671.51,"endTime":674.91,"body":"workshops but it, they're"},{"startTime":674.91,"endTime":678.51,"body":"actionable and it really narrowed it down to okay, this is the"},{"startTime":678.51,"endTime":681.71,"body":"topic that we're going to solve and like it was a very narrow topic"},{"startTime":682.13,"endTime":685.97,"body":"versus like when you had like a self study course that you have to"},{"startTime":685.97,"endTime":687.73,"body":"go from A to Z and it's going to take you three months to get"},{"startTime":687.73,"endTime":690.45,"body":"through it. It was like, okay, no, this is what we're solving. And they did"},{"startTime":690.45,"endTime":694.05,"body":"really well for about two years. And then I started realizing that they were getting"},{"startTime":694.05,"endTime":697.89,"body":"stagnant and I was like, you never know if it's like, is your audience getting"},{"startTime":697.89,"endTime":701.29,"body":"stagnant on it or is it because we're having another shift on what people, how"},{"startTime":701.29,"endTime":704.81,"body":"people want to learn. And so now I'm moving into, I'm hosting my first one"},{"startTime":704.81,"endTime":708.29,"body":"at the end of July. It's going to be a four hour workshop, hands on."},{"startTime":708.78,"endTime":712.42,"body":"It's going to be on building a no code app and we're going to use"},{"startTime":712.42,"endTime":716.14,"body":"Lovable and I'm going to go and from ideation to get"},{"startTime":716.14,"endTime":718.78,"body":"people to just create a very simple one to get the idea of how to"},{"startTime":718.78,"endTime":721.82,"body":"do it. But like in the Quick Win workshop, how I would have done it"},{"startTime":721.9,"endTime":725.02,"body":"was, it would be like I'd explain it, I'd show them how to do it"},{"startTime":725.02,"endTime":727.98,"body":"and we go on our way. In this type of workshop, they're going to be"},{"startTime":727.98,"endTime":731.66,"body":"doing it along with me in a zoom room. So how are yours being structured?"},{"startTime":732.3,"endTime":735.9,"body":"Yeah, so they are more workshops of more hands on"},{"startTime":735.98,"endTime":739.82,"body":"type. Let's do it together, let them go through it, get feedback"},{"startTime":739.82,"endTime":743.6,"body":"type thing. Some of it just depends on the topic. Right. I have this"},{"startTime":750.2,"endTime":754.0,"body":"minimalist launch method that I teach and it was like every"},{"startTime":754.0,"endTime":757.0,"body":"single day, it was like a get it done week. Right. Every single one day"},{"startTime":757.0,"endTime":760.8,"body":"we worked on your webinar slides, the next day we worked on your whatever, the"},{"startTime":760.8,"endTime":764.64,"body":"sales page, the email. So every single day we would meet and"},{"startTime":764.64,"endTime":768.42,"body":"go through it. I would give them feedback. So I really, to your point, I"},{"startTime":768.42,"endTime":772.06,"body":"think People are wanting that. They want you to give"},{"startTime":772.06,"endTime":775.9,"body":"them feedback on what they're doing. Right? A hundred percent. And I've"},{"startTime":775.9,"endTime":779.66,"body":"been thinking, I've been toying with the idea because listen, when I say"},{"startTime":779.66,"endTime":782.7,"body":"death of self study courses, I know that"},{"startTime":783.18,"endTime":786.5,"body":"people still want to learn from people. So like my knowledge that goes into my"},{"startTime":786.5,"endTime":790.06,"body":"two signature programs which are technically self study."},{"startTime":790.06,"endTime":793.62,"body":"But you can't, you would not know what to ask ChatGPT to get that level"},{"startTime":793.62,"endTime":796.85,"body":"of knowledge that I have in those courses."},{"startTime":797.17,"endTime":800.85,"body":"However, I do recognize that people want to interact with that"},{"startTime":800.85,"endTime":804.21,"body":"information in a different way. So I've been toying with the idea"},{"startTime":804.45,"endTime":807.01,"body":"of. I've identified like three core"},{"startTime":807.33,"endTime":811.05,"body":"GPTs to take all of these years of knowledge"},{"startTime":811.05,"endTime":814.89,"body":"of my processes and what works and what doesn't, systematize it"},{"startTime":814.89,"endTime":818.21,"body":"and then have people be able to put the information in but then offer almost"},{"startTime":818.21,"endTime":821.93,"body":"like a done with you type service. We I don't want to"},{"startTime":821.93,"endTime":824.85,"body":"start from scratch with, I want you to do the work and I'm going to"},{"startTime":824.85,"endTime":827.09,"body":"give you all the tools to do the work and then we're going to meet"},{"startTime":827.49,"endTime":831.17,"body":"and review it, make sure it's in line and then so"},{"startTime":831.17,"endTime":833.25,"body":"like they can submit it all to me. And I don't know if it's going"},{"startTime":833.25,"endTime":837.01,"body":"to be like a loom or if I'm going to do 30 minute zooms. I"},{"startTime":837.01,"endTime":840.09,"body":"haven't decided. But I do know that it's not that the death of. It's not"},{"startTime":840.09,"endTime":843.93,"body":"the death of the information, it is the how the information is being presented"},{"startTime":843.93,"endTime":847.73,"body":"and used. I feel like. Yeah. So I'm"},{"startTime":847.73,"endTime":851.18,"body":"trying to think about how I would equate that to what I'm doing. So generally"},{"startTime":851.18,"endTime":854.9,"body":"what I will do like in these workshops, they'll get the AI prompts but really"},{"startTime":854.9,"endTime":858.66,"body":"what I want them to do or use is my custom GPTs"},{"startTime":858.66,"endTime":861.62,"body":"because I've really trained those custom"},{"startTime":861.7,"endTime":865.299,"body":"GPTs and I've gotten really good feedback on that. So I'd like them to"},{"startTime":865.299,"endTime":868.82,"body":"use that so they can use that do their information."},{"startTime":869.14,"endTime":872.46,"body":"If they need further help or they need me to look at a sales page"},{"startTime":872.46,"endTime":876.23,"body":"or whatever, they can submit it through a form and I can give them feedback"},{"startTime":876.23,"endTime":879.07,"body":"on it. So you had mentioned and when you submit it to be on the"},{"startTime":879.07,"endTime":882.83,"body":"podcast that you have some interesting use cases of people in"},{"startTime":882.83,"endTime":885.39,"body":"your audience, I'm assuming using AI for their products."},{"startTime":886.27,"endTime":889.87,"body":"Yeah, for I can walk you through some of the things I've done in"},{"startTime":889.87,"endTime":893.23,"body":"my memberships to incorporate some of this. So like"},{"startTime":893.23,"endTime":897.03,"body":"accountability bots kind of onboarding type stuff. So I'll Start with the"},{"startTime":897.03,"endTime":900.71,"body":"onboarding. So the challenge that I personally had in my"},{"startTime":900.71,"endTime":904.47,"body":"newsletter Profit Club, is that people were coming in in all"},{"startTime":904.47,"endTime":908.27,"body":"types of different stages and they had different means. Like, I would have"},{"startTime":908.27,"endTime":911.67,"body":"people come that are people in the newsletter Profit club that have"},{"startTime":911.67,"endTime":915.19,"body":"70,000 people on their email list. And I have people who are"},{"startTime":915.27,"endTime":919.03,"body":"just like, I haven't even started it yet. So I needed to point"},{"startTime":919.03,"endTime":922.71,"body":"them to different resources.
