Righteous Anger | Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional | Matthew 21:12-13

Sean Nealon

In this episode, we confront one of the most misunderstood moments in Scripture — Jesus flipping tables in the temple.

This wasn’t rage.
 This wasn’t loss of control.
This was righteous anger in action.

We unpack what it means to handle anger the way Jesus did — submitted, purposeful, protective, and grounded in truth. For many men, anger has either been suppressed or expressed destructively. Jesus shows us a third way: anger under authority.

This conversation helps men identify the difference between righteous anger and reactionary anger — and how to submit both to God so anger becomes a tool for righteousness rather than a weapon that wounds families, marriages, and brotherhoods.

Reflection Question:
Where is anger rising in your life because something is wrong — and where has unsubmitted anger caused damage?

Daily Challenge:
When frustration shows up today, pause and ask:
“Is this righteous or reactionary?”
Then respond with obedience instead of impulse.

Prayer:
“Father, train my heart to respond like Jesus. Heal the places where my words or reactions have caused harm, and shape me into a man who protects what is holy with wisdom and strength. Amen.”
