Stay Steady in the Storm | Matthew 24:6 | Finding Peace in Chaotic Times

In Matthew 24:6, Jesus Christ warns that wars, conflict, and global instability will come—but He gives a clear command: do not be alarmed. In a world flooded with constant news, outrage cycles, and fear-driven headlines, disciples are called to remain steady. This message challenges men to anchor their peace in Christ rather than in the shifting noise of culture.

Reflection:
What has been stealing my peace lately? Am I consuming more chaos than Scripture?

Challenge:
Cut your media intake in half this week and replace that time with prayer and the Word.

A man who is steady doesn't pretend that storms don't exist. We know they exist. Hey, I'm Sean, and every day I write a devotional for a men's ministry restoring warriors, and we go line by line through scripture. Right now we're in the book of Matthew, chapter 24, we're in verse 6. But before we jump in, I want you to hit the subscribe button, share this episode with a friend, leave a comment. That way you get this every single day, you won't miss one. Alright, we're in chapter 24, and we're in verse 6, and it says, You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you're not alarmed. Such things happen, but the end is still to come. Alright, so Jesus predicts chaos. He doesn't deny chaos, he predicts chaos, he predicts conflict and instability, he predicts tension. And listen, this is nothing new. What's different today that we're experiencing today with all this conflict is the speed in which information comes to us. So chaos streams into our pockets 24-7 via this thing right here. So we see all the headlines, we we see reels, there's outrage cycles, and fear, it spreads really fast. Fear gets clicks. And Jesus gives a command: do not be alarmed. All right, not shaken, don't be rattled, don't be ruled by panic. A man who is steady doesn't pretend that storms don't exist. We know they exist, but he anchors deeper than the storm. All right, and if your peace rises and falls with the media cycle, your foundation is much too shallow, man. All right, Christ calls us to emotional and spiritual stability, especially in unstable times. And listen, your family needs calm. They need you to remain calm. Your community needs grounded men. And the world, listen, the world's gonna shake. And when the world shakes, disciples don't. All right, so now take out your journals. We're gonna spend the next 10 or 15 minutes or so. I want you to journal on this question, invite the Holy Spirit into this process with you and see what comes up. This is a great exercise. Use this as prayerful time with the Lord. Here's your question Is what has been stealing my peace lately? And am I consuming more chaos than scripture? Okay, and here's a challenge for you today. The challenge is to cut media intake in half this week. All right, replace it with prayer and the word. Jump in the word instead of jumping in all of these headlines. All right, let's pray. Lord, steady my heart in unstable times. Lord, anchor me in truth, not the headlines that we see, and make me grounded and faithful, Lord. It's in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you so much for tuning in today. If you are encouraged by this devotional, then I encourage you to send it off to a friend. Maybe send it to a friend who's too busy consuming the headlines. All right. Send it to a friend. Hey, we drop these each and every morning, Monday through Friday. So make sure you subscribe. Hey, like, leave a comment. It helps us organically in the algorithms to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. I absolutely love doing these devotionals with you every day. I can't wait to see you on the next one.
