In Matthew 24:31, Jesus describes a powerful moment—the sounding of a trumpet, the sending of angels, and the gathering of His people from every corner of the earth.

No one will be overlooked. No one forgotten. Every person who belongs to Him will be gathered.

But this raises the real question: who are the elect?

Scripture is clear—it’s not about religion, good works, or background. The elect are those who belong to Jesus through faith. Those who have surrendered their lives to Him and walk with Him daily.

There may be debate about the timing of these events—but not about what matters most: be ready. Stay faithful. Endure.

For some, the call is surrender.
 For others, it’s perseverance.

Because when that trumpet sounds, the only thing that will matter… is whether you belong to Him.

Big Question:
If Christ returned today, are you confident you belong to Him?

Challenge:
Examine your faith today. If you haven’t surrendered to Jesus—take that step. If you have, commit to walking in obedience, endurance, and trust.

Reminder:
God doesn’t lose His people—but we are called to remain faithful.

Prayer:
Lord, help me live ready and grounded in You. Reveal anything holding me back and give me the courage to fully surrender. Strengthen my faith to endure until the end. Amen.

To stay watchful, to stay faithful, and to make sure that we stand firm. Hey, welcome to the Restoring Warriors Devotional. Do me a favor before we get going today, click the subscribe button. Uh hey, our mission is simple here. It's to equip men to become disciples of Jesus Christ and to boldly spread the gospel. All right, and Restoring Warriors, we're we're a ministry and we gather weekly in Denver, Colorado, but we're currently launching men's groups across the country and we're asking men to step up and lead a group. So if you want to join a group, if you want to start one in your home, or if you want to connect with us online and experience this brotherhood, then I encourage you to go to restoring warriors.com and click find a group. All right, let's dive in. We're still in the book in Matthew, all right? We're in Matthew 24, we're in verse 31. Jesus says this, and he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to another. All right, so so Jesus describes a moment that's going to shake the entire world. Okay, a trumpets will sound, angels will be sent out, and from every corner of the earth, God's people will be gathered to him. All right, so the phrase the four winds, it simply means every single direction, right? North, south, east, and west. And no matter where somebody lives, no matter how hidden or forgotten they may seem, God knows exactly who belongs to him, and not one of his people will be passed up, not one of his people will be missed. All right, but this verse raises an important question: who are the elect? Scripture constantly describes the elect as those who follow, excuse me, those who belong to God through their faith in Jesus Christ, not by good works. Okay, and certainly not by religion, not by your family background. All right, salvation comes through surrendering your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior. And Christians, they sometimes debate the timing of these end time events, right? They're they're interesting conversations. All right, whether believers are gathered before tribulation, after it, somewhere in the middle, but the truth that matters most is this is that every believer must be ready and must endure. And Jesus repeatedly warns us in Matthew 24 in this chapter to stay watchful, stay faithful, and to make sure that we stand firm. And for some of those who are watching this today, the first step is surrender. The Bible calls this an invitation to salvation, a moment where a person turns from sin and places their trust in Jesus and receives a new life through him. All right, for others who already believe, our call is endurance. All right, faith isn't just about the moment we say yes to Christ, it's about walking with him daily and standing firm until the end. All right, one day the trumpet will sound, and when it does, the only thing that will matter is whether or not we belong to him. All right, so pull out your journal, take about five or ten minutes and reflect on this question. See what comes up for you. If Christ returned today, are you confident that you belong to him? All right, and here's your challenge for the day. Take time to honestly examine your faith today. All right, if you've never surrendered your life to Jesus, take that step today. I don't know if you've already followed him or committed to follow him, then commit to living with endurance and walking with obedience, walk in faith and walk in trust, regardless of what the future holds or what it looks like right now. Let's pray. Lord, thank you for your promise that you will gather your people from every corner of the earth. Lord, help me live ready and live faithful. And if there's anything in my life keeping me from fully trusting you, reveal it to me. Give me the courage to surrender it, Lord. Strengthen my faith so I can endure and stand firm until the day you return. It's in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you so much for tuning in today.
