In Matthew 24:34–35, Jesus gives us a reality check most men avoid: everything in this world is temporary.

Careers, businesses, houses, influence, status, even the world itself—it will all pass away. But Jesus says one thing will remain forever:

His words.

That changes everything.

Most men spend their lives building on what looks solid—but if it isn’t built on Christ, it won’t last. Kingdom men don’t just build for now. They build for eternity.

This isn’t just a warning about the future—it’s a challenge for today:

What are you actually building your life on?

Because at the end of it all, the only foundation that won’t collapse is the truth of Jesus Christ.

Big Question:
Are you building your life on temporary success—or eternal truth?

Challenge:
Spend 10 minutes in Scripture today before the noise of the day begins. Ask God to reveal one area of your life—work, habits, priorities, relationships—that needs to be realigned with His truth.

Prayer:
Lord, help me build my life on what will never pass away. Strip away anything temporary that I’ve trusted more than You. Strengthen my faith so my decisions, leadership, and legacy are rooted in Your truth alone. Amen

Heaven and earth themselves will pass away. The very ground we stand on, the systems we trust, the structures we build our lives around, all of it's temporary. Hey, welcome to the Restoring Warriors Devotional. Hey, Restoring Warriors, we're we're a men's ministry and we're dedicated to equipping men to becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. All right, men who lead boldly and share the gospel unapologetically. And every week we gather together in Denver, Colorado, in person, but we're currently launching new groups across the nation and we want you to be a part of it. Uh, we're also building an online community that we want you to be a part of. So to join a group, to start one in your home, to connect online, go to restoring warriors.com and click find a group. All right, so we're diving back into the book of Matthew today. We're in chapter 24, verses 34 and 35. It says this truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. All right, men spend their lives building things, all right? We build careers, we build our businesses, homes, we build our reputations, our strength, right, our influence. And these things feel solid. They feel permanent a lot of times. But Jesus makes a statement here that flips all that upside down. He says that heaven and earth themselves will pass away. The very ground we stand on, the systems we trust, the structures we build our lives around, all of it's temporary. Only one thing will remain, and those are his words, all right? Think about it. Empires rise and fall, nations collapse, cultures change, technology advances, even the earth itself doesn't last forever. But the words of Jesus stand outside of time. They don't age, they don't weaken, they don't fail. All right, and that means that every man is building his life on one of two foundations, things that will eventually crumble, or the truth of Christ that will never move. All right, and Jesus is a warning, it's not just warning about the future here. He's challenging the present. A warrior has to ask himself, what am I actually building my life on? Because if the only life that will last is the ones that are built on the words of Christ. All right, so take out your journals and let's let's dive in a little bit deeper to this. I'm gonna ask a reflection question. Take five or ten minutes and just see what comes up here. All right, what foundation are you truly building your life on right now? Is it temporary success or the unchanging truth of Jesus? All right, and your daily challenge is before starting your day today, spend 10 minutes reading scripture and asking God where your life may be anchored in temporary things rather than eternal truth. All right, and then as that comes up, choose one area of your life work, relationship, finances, uh, priorities, habits, and intentionally realign it with what Jesus says. All right, let's let's let's pray here. Lord, thank you for giving us truth that never fades. Lord, when the world shifts and everything around us feels uncertain, help us remember that your words stand forever. All right, show me where I've been building my life on temporary things and strengthen my faith so that I build my decisions, my leadership, and my legacy on you alone. It's in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today. If you were encouraged by this devotional, then I encourage you to send it off to a friend.
