Faith Shows Up in the Small Things | Matthew 25:45–46 | Real Faith in Action
In Gospel of Matthew 25:45–46, Jesus Christ flips our idea of faith upside down. Most men are waiting for a big moment—something bold, visible, and undeniable—to prove their faith. But Jesus points somewhere else entirely: the small, everyday moments.
Feeding someone. Checking in. Showing up.
Not spotlight moments—real life moments.
Jesus makes it clear: what we do (or don’t do) for others reflects our relationship with Him. Faith isn’t revealed in what we plan to do someday—it’s revealed in what we choose to do today.
A lot of men talk about impact, purpose, and legacy. But the real test isn’t in the future—it’s in front of you right now. The overlooked conversation. The quiet responsibility. The need you see but feel tempted to ignore.
The small things aren’t small to God.
They are the evidence of a faithful man.

It's the person that's right in front of you. It's the person that you probably overlook the most that's that's very present in your life. Hey, welcome back to the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional, where every day we challenge men to boldly live for Jesus Christ. Hey, we're currently expanding. Right now, Restoring Warriors, we're a men's group. We meet on Tuesday nights here in the Denver, Colorado area. But we are expanding and planting groups all over the country. So if you feel called to lead a small group but don't really know where to start, I encourage you to go to our website, RestoringWarriors.com, click join a group, and we can direct you from there. And in addition, we're also building a powerful online community of disciples as well. We would love to have you on that as well. So go to restoring warriors.com, join a group, we'll direct you. All right, we're back in the book of Matthew, chapter 25, and we're gonna wrap up chapter 25 today. This is verses 45 and 46. He will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me. Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. Alright, so so most men, we wait for this big moment to prove our faith. All right, something that's that's dramatic, something that's visible, that can be seen by a lot of people, something that's really undeniable. But but in this teaching, what Jesus points to is something that's a lot more ordinary, a lot more ordinary than than than we want to uh think of, right? He doesn't highlight a bunch of grand achievements, he he highlights all of the small things, the small acts, right? Feeding somebody, visiting somebody, showing up and being present with someone who's in need. And that's where faith is revealed, not in the spotlight, but but in the daily grind, all right? It's in the quiet decisions where nobody gives you applause, the things that are oftentimes unseen by the world, unseen by man, but seen by God. It's in those moments when you notice a need to choose and act instead of just walking past a need. All right, and a lot of men, like let's face it, we want to make a massive impact someday. We want to be remembered for something. All right, we talk about missions, we talk about legacy, we talk about purpose. Okay, but Jesus makes us makes it really clear the test isn't somewhere out there someday. It's today, it's every day. It's the person that's right in front of you, it's the person that you probably overlook the most that's that's very present in your life. Right? It's the conversation that you know you need to have, but you've been putting off. It's the encouragement that you know that somebody else needs. The responsibility, it's sitting right there in your hands. All right, and faith isn't proven by what you intend to do later. You know, once I get to a certain spot, then I'll be able to help out here. No, it's proven by what you do now, the acts you are making in the moment. And the small things, they're not small to God, they're evidence of a faithful man. All right, so take out your journal, take a couple minutes here and reflect on this question I'm gonna ask you. Invite the Holy Spirit in and see where the Spirit might be prompting you here. Is where is God giving you an opportunity to serve that you've been overlooking because it feels like it's too small or too ordinary? And and here's your challenge for today is do one intentional act of service today. All right, something that requires effort, but you're probably not gonna get any recognition for it. All right, help somebody, check on somebody, step into a responsibility that you've been avoiding, right? Your wife's been asking you to pull the weeds for weeks. Step into it. All right, and here's a prayer for today. Lord, help me stop waiting for big moments and to start being faithful in all of the small, everyday, normal moments that you put in front of us. Lord, Lord, open my eyes to all the needs around me and give me the courage to act whenever I see them. Lord, shape my heart to serve with humility, with consistency, and with love. Let my faith be visible in the way that I show up and in the way that I live each and every day, Lord. It's in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you so much for tuning in today.
