In this episode, we unpack Jesus’ powerful words at the Last Supper in Matthew 26:29—a moment spoken just hours before the cross, yet filled with hope, endurance, and the promise of future victory.

Jesus knew suffering was coming, but instead of focusing only on pain, He pointed His disciples toward the Kingdom and the table that was still ahead. This teaching challenges men to stay faithful in seasons of sacrifice, discipline, and quiet obedience—remembering that endurance is never wasted in the hands of God.

We explore what it means to live with eternal perspective in a culture obsessed with immediate comfort, and how faithful men keep moving forward even when the reward feels far away.

In this episode:
• Why Jesus pointed to future victory in the middle of suffering
• How discipline and obedience prepare you for what’s ahead
• The danger of living only for present comfort
• Why endurance is a mark of spiritual maturity
• How hope strengthens men to stay faithful in hard seasons

Whether you’re rebuilding, fighting temptation, leading your family, or simply trying to stay steady in your walk with God, this message is a reminder: your sacrifice is not the end of the story.

The table is still coming.

Listen, share, and stay faithful.

Something to look forward to in the future. He was reminding them that the sacrifice was not the end of the story. Hey, we're diving back in. We're in chapter 26, book of Matthew, chapter 26, verse number 29 here. It says this I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom. Alright, so Jesus spoke these words on the night that he was betrayed. So they're all having dinner. This is the night that he's betrayed. He had just broken the bread, he had just um passed the cup around for the first ever communion. This is just hours before he's about to face the cross. And he knew what was coming. He knew that he was about to suffer. Yet he pointed his disciples towards a future celebration, something to look forward to in the future. He was reminding them that the sacrifice was not the end of the story, but reunion is the end of the story. That's the celebration that we're looking forward to. All right, and many men, all right, we're in seasons of discipline. Maybe we're in a season of rebuilding, or maybe we're just in this season where we are just locking in and we are pursuing quiet obedience. All right, you're doing the hard work, you're staying sober, all right, you're leading your family, you're fighting temptation, you're showing up when it would just be a lot easier to quit. And in those moments, it can feel a lot like all sacrifice and no reward. But Jesus anchors us in hope, right? He he the there's a table coming, there's a day when all the struggle ends and that victory is fully realized, right? And faithful men, we learn to live with that future in mind. We endure today because we know what's ahead of us tomorrow, and our discipline, we know that it's not wasted. Our obedience, we know that it's not unnoticed. God is preparing a celebration that's on the other side of all of your faithfulness. All right, so let's pull out your journals. Let's take five or ten minutes and let's just reflect on this question here. All right, invite the Holy Spirit into this process. Where do you need to remember that your current sacrifice is preparing you for a future victory? And a daily challenge for today is make one disciple decision today that reflects trust in God's future promises, not just what you're presently feeling. And finally, let's pray. Jesus, help me to stay faithful in seasons that feel hard or feel really slow. Lord, remind me that my obedience matters and that you're preparing something greater ahead of me. Strengthen my endurance and fix my eyes on the promise of your kingdom, Lord. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you so much for tuning in today.
