Are you spending more energy protecting your reputation or strengthening your character? In this video, we look at Matthew 26:59-60 and how Jesus handled false accusations and public criticism.

Even when doing the right thing, you may still face misunderstandings and judgment. Jesus shows us that we don't need to manipulate situations to protect our reputation; instead, we can trust God and focus on faithful obedience.

In this video, we explore:
Why the world’s opinion will never be the ultimate truth.
The critical difference between your reputation (what people say about you) and your character (who you are when God is watching).
How to find the courage to walk in integrity when you are misunderstood.
Reflection Question for Today:

Are you spending more energy protecting your reputation or strengthening your character?

Daily Challenge:

Alright, and this is one of the hardest realities that we have to face in this world today as men by doing the right thing. Welcome back to the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional, where every day we challenge men to step into their calling and pursue a life that is more Christ-like. Hey, we're gonna dive back into the book of Matthew, but before we do, we just launched this powerful online community on the school platform. All right, you can find it by going to our website, RestoringWarriors.com. Click on join a group, and we will guide you to the online community. Can't wait to see you over there. All right, Matthew 26, verses 59 and 60 today, where it says this the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death. But they didn't find any, though many false witnesses came forward. Alright, so Jesus, he stood before a court that had already made up their mind. He was guilty before even presenting a case. The religious leaders they weren't searching for the truth, they were searching for justification. They wanted a guilty verdict and they were willing to use false witnesses to get it. And this is one of the hardest realities that we have to face in this world today as men. Doing the right thing doesn't guarantee you fair treatment. And sometimes you're going to be misunderstood. Sometimes people will question your motives, they'll spread rumors, or they'll make accusations that just simply aren't true. And you can lead it with integrity, you can serve faithfully, and you can still find yourself right in the middle of criticism. But Jesus, he shows us a different way. He always shows us a different way, a better way. He didn't manipulate the situation. He didn't launch a campaign to protect his reputation. No, he trusted his father. He trusted his father's plan. While the world was focused on appearances, Jesus remained focused on obedience. And so many guys, so many men will spend their lives trying to control what everything, what everybody thinks about them. But that's a battle that you're never going to win. There's always going to be people who misunderstand you. There's always going to be critics. Your responsibility isn't to manage everybody's opinion about yourself, it's to walk faithfully before God. Your reputation is what people say about you. Your character is who you are when only God is watching. One can be attacked, the other cannot be taken from you. And at the end of the day, God's opinion matters a whole lot more than public opinion. Okay? I want you to take out a journal and spend five or ten minutes on this question prayerfully and see what comes up for you. Are you spending more time and energy protecting your reputation or strengthening your character? I don't know. A daily challenge for you is when you find yourself worrying about what anybody else thinks about you today, stop and ask yourself this question. What does God say about me? What does God say about me? Choose obedience over approval in that specific area of your life today, when you see it come up. Father, help me stop chasing the approval of people and start focusing on pleasing you. Lord, strengthen my character, guard my heart from bitterness, and give me the courage to walk in integrity even when I'm misunderstood. Father, remind me that your truth matters more than the opinions of others. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today.
