In this video, we explore the story of Peter’s denial in Matthew 26:69-70 and what it reveals about our own struggles with fear and compromise. Often, we don't fear major persecution, but rather the small, daily moments where we choose silence over standing for our faith.

Join us as we discuss:
Why the enemy uses small moments of fear to lead to bigger compromises.
The reality of choosing approval and comfort over conviction.
How courage is built through daily, uncomfortable decisions to follow Christ.
Reflection Question: Where in your life are you tempted to stay silent about your faith because of fear of rejection, criticism, or discomfort?

Let's learn to depend on Christ rather than ourselves. If you found this encouraging, please like, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs to hear it today.

Yet when the moment came, his first test didn't come from a Roman soldier, didn't come from a temple guard or a religious leader, it came from a servant girl. Hey, welcome back to the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional. Every day we challenge men to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Hey, before we dive into it today, I want to tell you about something that we're doing as a ministry. It's called the Warrior Path, right? The Warrior Path is a six-week deep dive through the book of Ephesians where we challenge men to really pursue the calling that God's placed on their life. It's six weeks to becoming the man that God's called you to be. We look at aspects such as our prayer life, our family life. Uh, we read a lot of scripture. There, there's uh journaling and devotionals on top of a fitness aspect and a lot of accountability. So if that sounds like something you want to get involved in, go to our website, restoringwarriors.com, click on the warrior path tab, and we'll get you some more information. All right, let's get back into it. We're in Matthew 26, verses 69 and 70 today. It says, Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard and a servant girl came to him. You were also with Jesus of Galilee, she said, but he but he denied it before them all. I don't know what you're talking about, he said. All right, so just prior to this, Peter had boldly proclaimed that he would never abandon Jesus. He was ready to fight, right? He was ready to die, and he was convinced that his faith was stronger than everyone else's. Yet when the moment came, his first test didn't come from a Roman soldier, didn't come from a temple guard or a religious leader. It came from a servant girl. The danger wasn't the servant girl, it was the fear that was hiding inside of Peter. It was the fear of rejection, it was the fear of association, it was the fear of what might happen if people found out that he did belong to Jesus. And the same battle that exists today, all right. Most men, we're not going to face any persecution for our faith, especially in America, right? But many will face opportunities to stay silent. All right, we stay quiet when a conversation turns ungodly. All right, we avoid mentioning our faith because we don't want to get judged by the people around us. All right, we compromise our convictions to avoid conflict or to gain approval. The enemy rarely starts with these major compromises, he starts with small moments of fear, right? Small compromises that eventually become bigger once they are left unchecked. Courage, it's not built in the big moments, fellas. It's built in daily decisions to stand up for Christ when it's uncomfortable. And every time we choose truth over approval, every time we're obedient, instead of staying in our comfort zone, and every time our conviction wins over the convenience it would be to stay silent, we're strengthening our faith for whatever lies ahead. For whatever lies ahead. Peter's fall here reminds us that no man is immune to fear. Peter was closer to Jesus than nearly everybody. But it also reminds us that that awareness of our weaknesses drives us to depend on Christ rather than ourselves. All right, pull out your journals. Let's take a couple moments, let's uh five or ten minutes here and journal what comes up when I ask you this reflection question. All right, where in your life are you tempted to stay silent about your faith because of fear of rejection, criticism, or discomfort? And a challenge for today is to identify one opportunity today, as you're going through your day to openly acknowledge your faith. All right, whether it's through a conversation, an invitation, a prayer, or simply standing firm in biblical conviction. All right, men, let's pray. Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I've chosen, comfort over courage. Lord, strengthen me to stand for you in both the small and the large moments in life. Help me seek your approval, Lord, above all others. In Jesus' name. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today. If you were encouraged by this devotional, I encourage you to send it to a friend.
