God, in his mercy, he gave Pilate another opportunity to turn back. Welcome back to the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional, where every day we challenge men to become more and more like Jesus. Hey, one of the things that we do here at Restoring Warriors is a program that we cultivated called the Warrior Path, which is six weeks through the book of Ephesians, where we look at prayer, our prayer life, we look at our family life, we look at fitness, we look at fellowship. And we do that by going chapter by chapter through the book of Ephesians, through daily Bible studies, through fitness challenges, uh, through denying of the flesh, and a number of other things. We're starting a new installment of the Warrior Path on July 27th, and we'd love to have you join us. Go to restoring warriors.com, click on the Warrior Path tab at the top, and you can sign up and get more information. All right, let's dive back in. We're in Matthew 27, 19 today, where it says, While Pilate was sitting on the judge's seat, his wife sent him this message. Don't have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him. All right, so Pilate didn't lack information, he lacked courage. All right, before condemning Jesus, he received yet another warning. All right, he already concluded that Jesus was innocent. He said it just a few lines before that, but but now his own wife interrupts the trial with an urgent message after being troubled in a dream. The Lord came and spoke to her in a dream. God, in his mercy, he gave Pilate another opportunity to turn back, to do what was right. But Pilate chose the crowd over his conviction. All right, and we have to ask ourselves is how often do we do the same thing? We sense the Holy Spirit is nudging us to speak up, to apologize, to walk away from temptation, to stand for truth, to obey God's word, yet we silence that conviction because we're afraid of what people will think of us. All right, we trade obedience for acceptance. The Holy Spirit is faithful to warn us before we drift. The question isn't whether God speaks or not, it's whether we listen to him when his voice costs us something, costs us the approval of something. Pilate's greatest failure wasn't his ignorance, it was refusing to act on what he already knew was right in his heart. All right, so I want to issue you a daily challenge today, all right, is identify one area where you've been delaying obedience to the Lord. And then choose conviction today and take that first step that God's been asking you to take in the right direction. All right, let's pray. Father, thank you for your patience and warning me before I wander. Lord, give me the courage to obey your voice today, even when it costs me approval from others, and help me fear you more than I fear people, Lord. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today. If you were encouraged by this devotional, I encourage you to send it to a friend. Make sure you like and subscribe, leave a comment. It all helps us in the algorithm, helps us spread the gospel to more and more people. It's an absolute pleasure doing ministry with you every day. I can't wait to see you on the next one.
