For generations, the grave was considered humanity’s greatest enemy, but Jesus transformed death from a destination into a doorway. It was as if God in that moment was declaring to the world that death no longer has the final word. Hey, welcome back. It's a very powerful community of guys all across the country getting together for one purpose, and that's to grow stronger in our relationship with Jesus. All right, we're diving back in today. We're in chapter 27 in the book of Matthew. This is verses 52 and 53, where it says this the tombs broke open, and bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus' resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people. Alright, so the moment that Jesus died, something extraordinary happened. Death itself began to lose its grip. Alright, tombs were opened, and after Christ's resurrection, many who died were in that moment raised to life. Imagine that, right? It was as if God in that moment was declaring to the world that death no longer has the final word. And for generations, the grave, it's been humanity's greatest enemy. Every victory eventually ends in a funeral. Every life ultimately surrenders over to death. But when Jesus le but when Jesus willingly gave his life on the cross, he struck the decisive blow against sin and the consequences of sin. His resurrection, it wasn't just proof that he conquered death for himself. It was the guarantee that everyone who belongs to him will one day share in that exact same victory. And as believers, we don't simply hope and believe that heaven is real. We live with the confidence that death has become a doorway, not a destination. The empty tomb reminds us that our greatest fear has already been defeated. So whatever you're battling with today, loss, sickness, fear, uncertainty, remember that you follow a savior who has authority over the grave. And if he's conquered death, there's nothing in your life that's beyond his power. So I want to challenge you today. I want to hit you with a daily challenge. And that's whenever fear or discouragement creeps in today, because it will at some point, fear or discouragement will creep in. When that happens, I want you to stop. Take a pause and just remind yourself this that the grave lost its grip because Jesus won. Because Jesus won, he came out in victory. So choose to respond with faith instead of fear today, trusting that the same Savior who conquered death is walking with you, right alongside you, through every circumstance that you're going to come up against. When fear tries to take hold, remind me that my Savior has already defeated the grave and strengthen my faith to live boldly and confidently in the victory that Christ has secured. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today. If you are encouraged by the devotional, I encourage you to send it to a friend.
