Joseph reminds us that true devotion isn't measured by how loudly we praise Jesus when it's popular. Hey, welcome back to the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional where every day we challenge men to boldly pursue the calling that God has placed on their lives. Hey, and if you're a man and you're looking for community, a Christ-based community, iron sharpening iron type of thing, then I want to invite you to our Restoring Warriors school community. Go to restoring warriors.com, click on join a group, and we will direct you to our powerful online school community. All right, let's dive back in. We're in Matthew 27 today, verse 58. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus' body. And Pilate ordered that it be given to him. He's talking about Joseph of Arimathea here. All right. So when Jesus was healing the sick, feeding thousands, raising the dead, crowds eagerly followed him. They were just, I mean, all over, all over it. But after the crucifixion, all the crowds disappeared. All right. His closest disciples, it says they all fled. His reputation, it had been destroyed. His body was hanging lifeless on a Roman cross. And that was the moment that Joseph of Arimathea chose to step forward. This is his moment. By asking Pilate for Jesus' body, Joseph publicly identified himself with the one that everyone else had rejected. He risked his reputation, his influence, and potentially even his safety to honor Jesus when honoring him offered no sort of earthly reward whatsoever. It's easy to honor Christ when doing so is accepted. It's easy to do it when it's celebrated. It's much harder when it costs us something. When coworkers mock our faith, when friends question our convictions, or culture pressures us to stay silent on a particular subject. Joseph reminds us that true devotion isn't measured by how loudly we praise Jesus when it's popular. It's revealed by whether or not we're going to stand with him when the world walks away. Jesus isn't looking for secret admirers. So I want to hit you with the daily challenge today. Find one opportunity up. So I want to hit you with the daily challenge today. Find one opportunity today to publicly identify with Jesus. It could be sharing your faith with somebody, praying with somebody out loud, praying with somebody in a coffee shop, speaking truth with love, right? Delivering it well. Or refusing to compromise your commit convictions just because everybody else is doing something. All right. Honor him, even if it costs you something. All right, let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you so much for the courage of Joseph, for the courage that he showed in honoring Jesus when the world had rejected him. Lord, forgive me for the times that I've hidden my faith out of fear or the desire to fit into a certain crowd, a certain room. Lord, give me the boldness to stand for Christ with humility, love, and conviction, no matter what the cost is to me. Lord, may my life openly reflect my devotion to you. And it's in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today. If this was encouraging, if you were encouraged by this devotional, I encourage you, send it to a friend, share it with somebody, make sure you like, make sure you subscribe to the page, leave a comment on the video.
