Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Are you waiting for a breakthrough? In today’s devotional, we look at the quiet faithfulness of Mary Magdalene and the other Mary as they sat opposite the tomb of Jesus. They didn’t wait because they knew the end of the story—they waited because of their love for Him.
Before God entrusts us with extraordinary moments, He observes how we handle the ordinary ones. Discover why your daily obedience in the "unseen places" is the foundation for everything God is preparing you for.

Three days later, these same women would be the first ones to witness the empty tomb. Hey, welcome back to the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional, where every day we're going to challenge you as a man to boldly pursue the calling that God has placed on our lives. All right, and a couple different ways that we do that as a ministry at Restoring Warriors is through in-person gatherings. So if you're in the Denver area, we'd love to see you in person. But we also do that through our school community that we have called Restoring Warriors, where we get together and we do some discipleship programs, there's Bible studies, there's prayer groups, but there is brotherhood alive and in action over on our school community. So go to restoring warriors.com, click on join a group, and we'll direct you to the school community. I can't wait to see you over there. All right, today we're diving back into the book of Matthew. All right, we're in chapter 27. This is verse 61 today. It says, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb. All right, so when Joseph of Arimathea left the tomb, two people stayed behind. It was Mary Magdalene, and then what scripture refers to as the other Mary. And they didn't stay there because they expected a resurrection, or maybe at some level. Jesus had talked about coming back. But they stayed because they loved Jesus. They were mourning him. In their minds, the story was over. Their savior was dead, but they remained faithful to him. They wanted to spend more time to him, even if he lay lifeless in the tomb. And what they couldn't have known was that in this quiet moments, moment of faithfulness, it would position them for one of the greatest moments in history, probably the greatest moment in history. Three days later, these same women, they would be the first ones to witness the empty tomb and become the first messengers of the risen Christ. And God often works this way. Before He entrusts us with extraordinary moments, he watches how we handle the ordinary moments. Before the promotion comes, there's obedience. Before the miracle comes, there's perseverance, before the breakthrough comes and hits your life and shakes you, right? There's faithfulness when nobody else is watching, when it's literally just you and the man upstairs. All right, as men, we often want God to open a lot bigger doors while overlooking the small acts of obedience that He's already placed right in front of us. All right, but the kingdom, it is built on daily faithfulness. All right, one step at a time. Stay committed in prayer, stay present with your family, stay obedient in the unseen places, stay consistent in your reading of Scripture. God has a way of honoring those who remain faithful long before they ever see their reward. Alright, so I want to hit you with the challenge today. And the the the challenge is this it's it's to identify and choose an area of your life where you've been tempted to quit or an area where you've tempted to become complacent. All right, and intentionally show up in that area today with excellence and with faithfulness, and not because you're gonna see some sort of immediate result, but because Christ is worthy of your obedience. All right, let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you. Thank you for reminding me that you see every act of faithfulness, even when nobody else does. Lord, help me remain steadfast in ordinary moments, trusting that you're preparing me for the work that you have ahead. Lord, and give me the endurance to obey you without needing immediate results. And Lord, shape me into a man who's faithful in the little things so that I can be trusted with the greater things. It's in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today.
