In this video, we explore one of the great ironies of the crucifixion: the enemies of Jesus remembered His promise to rise again, while His own disciples were paralyzed by fear and doubt.
It’s easy to focus on our current circumstances—the "Saturday" of our lives—where hope seems lost and heaven feels silent. But just as Sunday was already on God's calendar, your waiting season does not cancel God's promises. If He has spoken it, He will fulfill it.
In this episode:
Why we often remember our fears more than God's promises.
The importance of anchoring our hearts in truth rather than our current situation.
A challenge to help you shift your focus from worry to faith.
Reflection Question:
What promise from God’s Word have you allowed fear, disappointment, or waiting to overshadow?
Daily Challenge:
Spend 10 minutes today reading through God’s promises instead of replaying your worries. Write down one promise that speaks directly to your current season, and return to it whenever fear begins to take over.

The very same people who rejected Jesus. They remembered his promise that he would rise again. Welcome back to the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional, where every day we challenge men to boldly pursue the calling that God has placed on their lives. Hey, one of the ways we do that is through our powerful online discipleship community. It's called Restoring Warriors, it's over on school. We'd love to have you join us. Men coming alongside other men and sharpening one another in daily discipline. Go over to restoringwarriors.com, click on join a group, and we'll direct you over to our school community. All right, today we're diving back into the book of Matthew. We're in chapter 27. This is verses 62 and 63 today. The next day, the one after preparation day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. Sir, they said, we remember that while he was still alive, that the deceiver said, After three days, I will rise again. Alright, so this is one of the great ironies of the crucifixion. Alright, the religious leaders, remember, these are the very same people who rejected Jesus. They remembered his promise that he would rise again. And meanwhile, all of his disciples, the people closest to him, the twelve who were the closest to him, they all scattered. They were grieving, they were hiding in fear. The enemies of Jesus, they expected something to happen, though, right? But his closest followers had forgotten what he had plainly told them. And how often do we find ourselves in the exact same place? When life starts to fall apart, we remember our fears a lot more vividly than the promises that God's given us. We focus on what we can see, what's right in front of us, instead of what God has already spoken. God's promises don't become less true simply because our circumstances grow darker. On Saturday, the tomb was still sealed. Hope seemed lost. Heaven appeared silent. But Sunday was already on God's calendar. Hallelujah. Alright, the waiting season never cancels the promise. If God has spoken, he will fulfill it in his perfect time. Our responsibility isn't to figure out how to do it, it's to remember what he's already said. Alright, so I want to hit you with a daily challenge today. And here it is. I want you to spend 10 minutes today reading through God's promises instead of replaying your own worries in your head. Write down one promise that God's given you through his word that speaks directly to the current season that you're in, the current situation that you're going through, and return to it whenever you start to feel fear taking over. Alright, let's pray. Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times that I've allowed fear to drown out your promises. Father, strengthen my faith to remember what you've already spoken, even when I can't see the outcome, Lord. Help me trust that your timing is perfect and that your word never fails. Father, teach me to anchor my heart in your promises rather than in my circumstances. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today.
