Did you know the stone wasn’t moved to let Jesus out?
In today’s reflection on Matthew 28:2-3, we explore the incredible reality of the resurrection. By the time the angel rolled the stone away, Jesus had already risen. The stone wasn’t moved for His benefit—it was moved so we could see the empty tomb and witness God’s victory.
When we face obstacles that seem immovable, we need to remember that the same God who conquered the grave is the same God who is at work in our lives today. No earthly power can stop His plans.
In this video:
A New Perspective: Understanding why the stone was really moved.
God’s Footstool: How symbols of death became proof of victory.
Daily Challenge: How to shift your focus from the size of your "stone" to the power of the Resurrected King.
Reflection:
What “stone” have you been staring at that God may already have overcome? Are you asking Him to move an obstacle when He may already be inviting you to see that His victory has gone before you?
Daily Challenge:
Spend time today identifying one obstacle you’ve been treating as impossible. Instead of focusing on the size of the stone, thank God for His resurrection power and trust Him to accomplish what only He can.

The glorified Christ is not limited by locked doors. Hey, welcome back to the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional, where every day we challenge men to boldly pursue the calling that God has placed on their lives. Hey, and over the last man, year and a half, we've been going through the book of Matthew, and we are in Matthew 28 now. We've made it to the final chapter of Matthew, which means we're about to be out of material here. So I want to hear from you. What book should we do next? Drop it in the comments, and here in about a month or so, we will start going through new devotionals in a new book of the Bible. Uh, thank you for sticking with me this long. All right, so we're in Matthew 28. We're in verses two and three today, where it says this There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. All right, so I want you to notice a subtlety here. The angel didn't roll the stone back so that Jesus could get out. No, by the time that the stone was moved, Jesus had already risen. He was already gone. The glorified Christ is not limited by locked doors, by sealed tombs, by physical barriers. The stone was rolled away so that the women and eventually the world could come and see for themselves that the tomb was empty. Alright, then from that comes one of the most powerful images of the entire resurrection account. The angel sits on the stone. What had been humanity's greatest symbol of death and finality became God's footstool of victory. The Roman seal, all right, the armed guards, the massive stone were meant to prevent anyone from entering and tampering with the body. But instead, they became silent witnesses that no earthly power can stop the plans of the Lord. The violent earthquake that happened, it reminds us that heaven itself was announcing a new reality. Alright, sin had been defeated, death had lost its grip, and the king had risen. So the obstacles that are in our lives that seem like they're immovable, none of them are immovable or impossible for God. Alright, the same God who conquered the grave is the same one that moves stones that we can't. Alright, so I want to hit you with a challenge today. This is our daily challenge is to spend some time today, some dedicated time. Identify one obstacle in your life that you've just kind of written off as impossible. Alright, and instead of focusing on the size of the stone, all right, thank God for his resurrection power and trust him to accomplish what only he can do. Okay, let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you. Thank you that the resurrection proves that there is nothing that's impossible for you, Lord. Lord, when I become overwhelmed by the obstacles that are in front of me, I want you, Lord, put please just to remind me that you are the God who rolled away the stone and defeated death itself. Father, help me live in the confidence that your power is greater than anything I face today. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today. If you were encouraged by this devotional, I encourage you to send it to a friend. Like, subscribe, leave a comment. Leave a comment with the next book in the Bible we should do next. And as always, it's an absolute pleasure doing these devotionals with you every day. Can't wait to see you on the next one.
