“The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.’” — Matthew 28:5–6
In today’s devotional, we look at the first words spoken at the empty tomb: “Do not be afraid.” When fear fills our hearts and the future looks uncertain, we can find peace in the truth that God is faithful to His promises. The resurrection wasn't an accident—it was the fulfillment of Christ’s own words.
If God was faithful to His promise yesterday, He will be faithful to you tomorrow. Join us as we explore how the empty tomb serves as proof that no promise of God is empty.
Reflection Question: What promise of God do you need to remember today instead of allowing fear to shape your thinking?
Daily Challenge: When fear or uncertainty arises today, pause and replace it with a promise from Scripture. Remind yourself that the same Jesus who kept His promise to rise from the dead will keep every promise He has made to those who trust Him.

Don't be afraid. Fear had filled the hearts of Jesus' followers at that point. Hey, welcome back. This is the Restoring Warriors Daily Devotional, where every day we boldly challenge men to pursue the calling that God has placed on their lives. Hey, we're in the book of Matthew, we're in chapter 28. We've been going verse by verse for about 18 months now, and we have reached the final chapter of the book of Matthew. Alright, so we need a new book. So I want you to do me a favor. Comment below what book of the Bible you think we should do next. Alright, let's go. Matthew 28, we're in verses five and six today, where it says this. Alright, so the first words spoken at the tomb were not, He's He's alive. They were, Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. Fear had filled the hearts of Jesus' followers at that point. Their Savior had just been crucified, and their hopes, it seemed like they were buried. And the future at that point, it looked so uncertain. They didn't know what they were going to do. But the angel reminded them of something incredibly important that Jesus had done exactly what he had promised, exactly what he said he was going to do. He is risen, just as he said. God's faithfulness is the antidote to fear. Every fulfilled promise reminds us that if God was faithful yesterday, he will be faithful tomorrow. The resurrection, it wasn't an unexpected miracle. Jesus said it would happen. It was the fulfillment of his own words. Death couldn't stop his promises, and neither could the obstacles that are standing in your way that you're facing today. The angel invited the women to come and see. Christianity never asked us to believe blindly. God continues to invite us and to examine his faithfulness and remember what he's done, right? And build out our confidence on the evidence of his character that has lasted the test of time. The empty tomb, it declares that no promise of God's is empty. Alright, so I want to hit you with a challenge today. And that challenge is when fear or uncertainty arises in your life today. Pause and replace it with a promise from Scripture. Alright, remind yourself that the same Jesus who kept his promise to rise from the dead will keep every promise that he made to us and those who trust him. Lord, when fear tries to overwhelm me, remind me that you have never broken a promise and help me to trust that even that even when I can't see the outcome, knowing that the tomb is proof, the empty tomb is proof that your promises and your power will never fail. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Hey, thank you for tuning in today. If you were encouraged by this devotional, I encourage you to send it off to a friend. Hey, make sure you like this video, subscribe to the channel, leave a comment with whatever book you think we should do next in the Bible, and as always, I can't wait to see you on the next one.
