Welcome back to Kids, Chaos, and Killer Campaigns, the podcast for marketers who can craft high converting copy and cut the crust off sandwiches without missing a beat. Earlier this month, my family and I took a trip to Bonaire. For those who don't know what Bonaire is, it's a small island in the Caribbean, the very far south Caribbean close to Aruba and Curacao, really famous for its flamingo sanctuary, wild donkeys, and s-

stunning water ideal for diving. And while we were there for the first time in a very long time, I was able to completely unplug. No laptop, no last minute scrambling, no just let me get this post out while my kids beg me to come swim. How? I repurposed fresh campaign content. A new checklist, a guide, and a blog into everything I needed for the week. I scheduled social posts, emails, and even a poll before I left.

so the content was working even while I wasn't. In today's episode, today's episode is all about that powerful system that every mom marketer needs in her toolkit, content repurposing. And I'm breaking down how I turned.

So I'm breaking down how to turn one idea into 10 content assets and how you can.

I'm breaking down how to turn one idea into 10 content assets so you can step away without the stress. Let's dive in.

Most marketers underestimate how few people actually see a single social post. On average, only about 5 to 10 % of your followers will see an individual post on LinkedIn or Facebook, which means 90 to 95 % never even knew that content existed. And that's why repeating and repurposing isn't annoying. It's essential. It gives your audience multiple chances to bump into your message.

in different places and different formats until it finally clicks and sticks. Think about it. If someone missed your blog post, they might catch your LinkedIn snippet. Or if they scroll past your social post, maybe they'll open your nurture email. Repurposing is just you meeting them where they are, not where you hope they'll be. And repurposing isn't recycling fluff. It's building from a strong foundation and squeezing all the juice from your best ideas.

Just like I didn't pack 10 different outfits per kid when we traveled. I packed a few basics that they can mix and match, and then inevitably reject in favor of a swimsuit or pajamas. And really, I do the same with my content. So just think. One guide or one checklist can become three different LinkedIn posts, one carousel graphic, an email campaign, a mini blog, two video clips, and even amazing newsletter content.

Now, when I'm repurposing content, one other thing I... Now, when I'm repurposing content, one other thing I fold into my repurpose strategy is content batching. So, here's the deal. When you're tight on time, batching really isn't optional. It's essential. And my secret, I approach that content creati... My secret, I approach that content scheduling...

like I approach laundry day. I block content scheduling time and I attack with a plan. When you do laundry, you block the steps, you sort, you wash, you fold, you put away. And well, I do the same with my content that I want to repurpose and schedule. First, I list all the existing content, checklist, blog post, webinar slides, even Teams messages related to the theme or topic that we're focused on. Next.

I choose one hero piece of content to focus on for that week, that month, whatever duration of time it may be. Then I map out five to ten derivative asset pieces that I can make from that core asset. Then I map out five to ten pieces of content I can make from that core asset. And finally, I schedule everything in our scheduler tool. And finally,

I schedule out post emails and anything else I can in our scheduling tool, which for us happens to be HubSpot. Now, I know the metaphor is cheesy, but it works. just like laundry, content never ends. But having a system helps make it more manageable.

So here's how I prepped for my Bonaire trip so I could actually vacation. Like I mentioned, before we left for Bonaire, I repurposed two existing assets that were aligned with our current campaign theme, a guide and a checklist. And I was able to turn them into four different social media posts, two different nurture emails, and I even used them in an I'm out of office autoresponder with a helpful link to the guide. And guess what?

While my daughters were building sand castles, I wasn't scrambling to schedule content or checking my inbox every 10 minutes. My content was working in the background while I was working on keeping beach snacks sand free and winning sunscreen battles with my toddler. Repurposing wasn't just a time saver for me. It was a sanity saver. It helped me set my team up for continued visibility and success while I was busy sunbathing and snorkeling.

While we were in Bonaire, I thought of this content repurposing tip from my kiddos. You know how kids can turn anything into everything with just a little imagination? It's the same with content. While we were in Bonaire, we didn't have all of our toys and everything in our house, but our kiddos turned the TV remote control into a spaceship controller, a restaurant menu, a magical animal scanner, a microphone, and then finally the thing that actually turns on the TV. And...

If they can do all of that with a remote, you can do the same with a great blog post or checklist. Repurpose it into emails, social media posts, landing pages, whatever your funnel needs.

So let's recap. Repurposing saves time and extends your reach. One strong piece of content can become 10 strategic assets. You can use that laundry folding, batching schedule to get things scheduled and done. And trust me, your audience isn't following every channel and everything you post. Repurposing doesn't bore them. It helps them remember you.

Your challenge for this week is to pick one existing piece of content, maybe a blog or a presentation slide, and brainstorm five different ways to reuse it. Don't overthink, just list them. And if you do it while folding laundry or making a snack plate for your kids, even better.
