Heif Decent

The Pope's Guard, DAPs, and Pink Floyd

Heif Dogg Season 1 Episode 5

Distraction-free music listening is a completely different experience. Remember when you'd buy a new album and do nothing but listen to the whole thing? That intentionality is what I found after picking up a dedicated digital audio player.

Speaking of specialized roles, did you know the Pope has his own personal army? The Swiss Guard has been protecting pontiffs since 1506, and they're still rocking their original Renaissance-inspired uniforms. Picture striped pantaloons, puffed sleeves, and feathered helmets - it's like "a deck of Uno cards came to life and joined a marching band." Despite their theatrical appearance, these are legitimate soldiers with serious qualifications: Swiss citizenship, male, Catholic, single, military training, and a formal oath of loyalty to the Pope. They even carry modern firearms alongside their traditional halberds.
