Episode 21- Dr. Corbett
Dr. Emma Corbett: A Passion for People, Community & Care
Dr. Emma Corbett has always been driven by a love for people—their stories, their struggles, and their well-being. As a first-year family medicine resident, she brings compassion and curiosity to every patient she meets, striving to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Her journey in medicine began with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at UBC Okanagan, followed by medical school at UBCO. Now in the final stretch of her training, Emma has gained invaluable experience working in hospitals across Victoria, Quesnel, and Vancouver. But her heart belongs to Vernon, where she plans to establish her practice—a welcome addition for a community in need of dedicated family physicians.
Emma is part of the very first cohort of the Vernon Family Medicine Residency Program, making her journey even more special. This inaugural year has already proven to be a success, with residents like Emma becoming deeply rooted in the community—not just training here, but choosing to stay, live, and build their careers in Vernon. It’s a testament to the strength of the program and the incredible lifestyle and opportunities Vernon has to offer.
Beyond medicine, Emma finds balance in the beauty of the Okanagan lifestyle. A passionate gardener and devoted tea enthusiast, she thrives outdoors, whether hiking, camping, or simply soaking in the natural beauty around her. With a deep commitment to her patients and her community, Emma is excited to grow roots in Vernon, both professionally and personally.
Vernon is lucky to have her—both as a physician and as a neighbor!
