For a long time, I spoke about Petite Programming as though it wasn’t quite a real business yet, even after clients trusted me, money changed hands and completed websites were sitting publicly online with my name attached.

In this more personal episode, I’m talking about what happens when your business grows, but the way you speak about it remains stuck in its earliest days.

I explore:

- Why we often soften our achievements before anyone questions them.
- The difference between arrogance and accurately describing what you’ve built.
- How calling your business “just a side project” can influence the way you treat it.
- Why my confidence came from evidence rather than empty affirmations.
- Recognising when isolated wins have become a repeatable pattern.
- Allowing your language and decisions to catch up with the business you have now.

You don’t need to exaggerate your success or pretend you’ve reached an imaginary finish line. But you are allowed to stop making your work sound smaller than it really is.

Listen and ask yourself: what have you built that you’re still making sound small?
