Between The Lines Radio Newsmagazine podcast
Between The Lines is a weekly syndicated half-hour radio newsmagazine featuring progressive perspectives on national and international political, economic and social issues. Since 1991, Between The Lines has provided in-depth, timely analysis on a wide range of political, economic and social issues including: increasing disparity in wealth in the U.S.; the crisis in the U.S. health care system; international grassroots mobilization to confront global climate change; racism permeating the prison industrial complex; and efforts to repair flaws in the U.S. electoral system.
In recent years, our coverage has raised the alarm about Donald Trump and the Republican party’s ongoing fascist threat to America’s democratic institutions. We believe that accurately and bluntly communicating this threat is vital to mobilizing the American people to defend civil society, civil liberties and our multiracial democracy. It’s critical that media outlets counter corporate media’s constant “sanewashing” and sanitizing of Trump and the GOP’s embrace of political violence and contempt for the U.S. Constitution. Trump 2.0 has shown itself to be even far worse than expected in these past few months, with the widespread dismantling of our government and vital social services, the lawlessness of weaponizing the Department of Justice, the targeting law firms and universities to bend them to his will -- and the downright cruelty to the nation's most vulnerable in our communities. Squeaky Wheel Productions is our 501(c)(3) nonprofit production company and distributor. This consumer podcast may occasionally contain a fundraising pitch. 233680
