When doctors painted a devastatingly bleak picture of Luke's future, Amy made a pivotal decision: "I accept that we have autism. But I do not accept that this will be his life." Today, Luke works at a hospital, has competed in Special Olympics (even serving as a delegate to Washington D.C.), and is preparing for semi-independent living.
