Speaker 3:Hey there, wild Crew Kids, and welcome to another episode of the Wild Crew Kids Podcast. Yay, we're so glad you're here. I'm Crew Pearl's mama, miss Lexi.
Speaker 2:Hi, I'm Crew Pearl.
Speaker 3:Before we begin, let's do something really fun. When Crew Pearl counts to three, I want you to shout your name so loud so we know who's listening with us. Are you ready?
Speaker 2:One two, three.
Speaker 3:Wow, guys, that was so loud and so awesome.
Speaker 2:You're in the live crew now.
Speaker 3:We are so glad that you are here. Today we're learning about another fruit of the Spirit. Last week we learned about the fruit of the Spirit, love, crew Pearl. Can you remind us what the fruit of the Spirit is?
Speaker 2:It's fruit from Jesus.
Speaker 3:That's right, Crew Pearl. The fruits of the Spirit grow inside of us when we follow Jesus. They help us look more and more like Jesus every day. Today's fruit is one that makes us smile. Want to guess what?
Speaker 2:it is, you feel it when you're laughing. Doesn't go away if things are hard. It starts with the letter J Good job. It starts with the letter J J, good job.
Speaker 3:It starts with the letter J. Thanks for sharing those clues. Crew Pearl, okay, wild Crew Kids. On the count of three, let's say what we think the fruit of the spirit is today. One, two, three Joy, that's right. Joy is the second fruit of the Spirit, and joy is deeper than happiness.
Speaker 3:Yes, in the Bible, paul and Silas had joy, even in a tough situation. Do you want to hear about it? Okay, so Paul and Silas were in jail, not for doing something bad, like bad guys, no, but for telling other people about Jesus. Even while sitting on the cold floor behind the bars, they sang songs of praise to God. Their hearts were full of joy. They were happy. In jail. They weren't happy, but they were joyful. Joy is when we trust Jesus and know that he is with us, even when things aren't perfect. Then something amazing happened. Paul and Silas were sitting in jail and all of a sudden, the ground shook, the chains broke. The chains broke and the jail doors they flew open. Their joy didn't just help them, it changed lives.
Speaker 3:So let's think about a time when you could choose joy. Imagine you're playing your favorite game, let's pretend like it's soccer, and, oh no, our team loses. Oh man, yeah, that can feel so disappointing, oh man. But then your friend gives you a big high five and says that was so fun, let's play again. You remember, even if I didn't win, jesus loves me, no matter what. That's called joy. You know what Crew Pearl's favorite song has the word joy in it? Crew Pearl, do you want to sing your favorite song with your friends? I wonder if they've heard it before.
Speaker 2:Got the joy, joy, joy, joy. Down in my heart, where Down in my heart, down in my heart, got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart. Where Down in my heart, where Down in my heart. Today, when I'm so happy, so very happy, I got the love of Jesus in my heart. When I'm so happy, so very happy, I got the to love Jesus in my heart.
Speaker 3:Wild Crew kids, you guys did such a good job singing that song. You were giving God praise. Another thing we can do is we can talk to God. Do you remember what that's called? That's right. It's called praying. Praying is just when we talk to God. Do you know how to pray? That's right.
Speaker 3:There's all kinds of ways to pray, but one way we like to pray is we like to put our hands together and close our eyes and bow our heads. Let's all pray together. Okay, everyone, put your hands together Now, close your eyes and bow your head. Dear God, creator of the universe, thank you for filling our hearts with joy. Help us remember that joy doesn't come from things or winning, but from knowing you are always with us, even when things don't go our way. Help us smile, share kindness and shine your light. Help us love Jesus and love like Jesus. Amen. Okay, wild Crew kids, it's time for our joy verse. Are you ready? Be full of joy in the Lord always.

Open your arms out really wide, like you're going to give a big hug, and then, whenever I say in the Lord, always point up to the sky like you're pointing to heaven, up to God. Let's open our arms really wide, be full of joy. Now, together, let's point up to the sky and say In the Lord, always. Philippians 4.4. Woo-hoo, let's try it one more time. Open up your arms really wide and say Be full of joy, now, point up to the sky. In the Lord always. Philippians 4.4. Woo-hoo. Okay, everyone, now, whenever we do our hand motions, let's say our verse, but let's whisper it.
