LHAP is centered around the Urban Indigenous experience in NYC. We will talk about guests Homelands and How and Why they came to the big city. We will also cover culture and fashion as it is a big part of the Podcast Hosts' life. Being a fat, brown woman working in Fashion for over 20 years I've heard it all! Let's Have a Powwow is inspired by those cringe moments we've had in professional settings where someone has suggested "having a powwow" to discuss work stuff. We are reclaiming the word! Ha.Way! Welcome back! This is a special on the road episode. My family friend and brother back home John Parker asked if I would like to help out with hair on the New Sterlin Harjo show filming in Tulsa. Of course I wanted to come back home and work on Sterlins Production cuz it is literally history in the making. But I also wanted to come home and record an episode specifically with JohnParker. John is an unforgettable person. We are kindred spirits and seeing him spread his wings and step into his Light is Beyond exciting! You may recognize John as the Financial Aid Advisor, Ms. Debbie on Season 3 of Rez Dogs. Ms. Debbie stole the show with her 49 songs and hair whippin’ shenanigans! It was literally “a star is born” moment for people that don’t know of JP, but for family and friends we’ve seen the greatness that is John Parker. We record this episode the day after John’s sisters wedding. So here we are on the come down from a beautiful wedding and party, raw and uncut aye! Enjoy!
