This week I speak to one of my favorite humans, Kalyn Fay. If you are lucky enough to know them, you know what I mean. Kalyn is an oklahoma born and bred indie folk  songwriter and musician who writes songs about their homelands.  When I listen to their music it's like a loveletter to Oklahoma.                                                  We discuss the family trip to Branson that inspired young Kalyn to take up the Dulcimer, The doctor conference that convinced them to NOT become a doctor, and why Oklahoma is special. Kalyn is also a gifted artist and curator. They use their art and music to weave their relationship to the land, longing to connect the people who share it. You can currently hear Kalyn’s music in Sterlin Harjo’s show The Lowdown and in Resident Alien all streaming now.   Kalyn is your favorites, favorite. But they will tell you that their music is “for you, for me, for us, for We”

Thank you Kalyn! I'm so glad you didn't become a doctor.

All Music in this episode is by Kalyn Fay.                                                                                  The show opens with Kalyn's song "Tulsa"  I share a story about listening to "Oklahoma Hills" walking through a casino (highly recommend) and I close out the show with "Baby Don't You Worry"
