#7: Authenticity is a Non-Negotiable for Creative Expression | Jeremiah Warner

Jeremiah Warner is a tattooer from Billings, Montana.

In today's special episode we sit down with Jeremiah, a talented black and white realism artist, for a podcast during a live tattoo session.

Jeremiah's tattoo journey kicked off during COVID-19 and quickly became both his passion and his profession. We talked about the delicate balance for artists when their passion becomes their job, and Jeremiah shares his insights on protecting his passion to avoid burnout or losing his love for tattooing. We also got a chance to break down the different between talent and skill, and talk about what it takes to develop a world-class skillset in a creative field.

Outside of tattooing, Jeremiah is one of the most artistic and expressive individuals I've gotten the pleasure of knowing. Authenticity is incredibly high on Jeremiah's list of values, and we explored some of the challenges that come along with staying true to yourself. We got a chance to chat about how being willing to receive judgement is a precursor to being authentic, talked about the importance of having creative endeavors outside of your work, and even explored the process of choosing what to share on social media vs. what to save for real-life expression.
