Storming The Gates Podcast Episode with Bishop Eugene Taylor
Midnight Prayers: Finding Deliverance in the Darkest Hours
During this powerful conversation with Bishop Eugene Taylor, Lady Williams shares how God birthed her "Prayer on the Night Shift" ministry to intercede for those engaged in spiritual battles when most of the world sleeps. With decades of ministry experience and the grace of a true intercessor, she unpacks what it truly means to "pray through"—pushing past resistance until manifestation appears.
The discussion takes a compelling turn as they address a controversial yet crucial topic: deliverance for believers. "Deliverance is the children's bread," Lady Williams emphasizes, explaining how salvation regenerates our spirit but our minds require ongoing sanctification. This reveals why even Spirit-filled Christians sometimes battle oppressive thoughts requiring divine intervention. Through personal testimonies of witnessing dramatic deliverances, she confirms these spiritual realities that many modern churches hesitate to acknowledge.
Well, god bless you. This is the Storm and the Gates podcast with Bishop Eugene Taylor, where we're teaching believers to live victory in the promises that God has for their life. Against every attack of the enemy, we declare that the kingdom mandate shall be their portion. Listen, remember that we're here every Monday night at 8 pm Eastern Standard Time. Speaker 1:Today I've got a special guest, a woman of God that I appreciate her ministry so much, and she's going to be a blessing in just a moment. Her name is Lady Ebony Williams. She is a native of Northern Florida. She's the mother of five, the grandmother of five. She's been in ministry for many years and you wouldn't imagine how many years she's been in ministry because she looks like such a young lady. But she is a powerful woman of God, powerful intercessor. I've been fortunate to spend time with her presence. She was with us with the all white press service. She was one of the intercessors that you saw there and she's just doing a fantastic job. She's worked in ministry for so, so many years and I tell you we're going to bring her on. She's going to be a blessing.
Speaker 1:I am blessed to enjoy her ministry. She has a dynamic ministry and it's every Tuesday. She has a dynamic ministry and it's every Tuesday, thursday and Saturday night and it's prayer on the night shift and you don't want to miss it. It is a powerful time in the Lord, but I'm not going to hold everything up. I don't want you to be bothered. Listen to me. I'm going to bring on today Lady Ebony Williams. I want you all to receive her as she comes on today. God bless you. God bless you. God bless you. God bless you, lady Ebony Williams. We are so blessed to have you on today. How is everything going this evening?
Speaker 2:It is well. God bless you. Everything is going well and thank you so much for having me. I'm so honored to be on today.
Speaker 1:We're honored to have you on. I've been blessed by your ministry and I've watched your ministry here recently and you are a powerful intercessor and I was so blessed when you came up to be with us at our all white prayer service and when I found out that you were going to be in the city. You were one of our guest intercessors and you started us up this morning that morning with a powerful prayer. You have a prayer grace on you and I'm blessed. You know, even though I have a morning prayer call, a lot of times I'm still up late at night and if I'm up late at night I get a chance to catch you at midnight. Tell us a little bit about that prayer on the midnight shift. Yes, sir, that prayer on the midnight shift.
Speaker 2:Yes, sir, the prayer on the midnight shift was something that God birthed in me, probably some five, six years ago. I have always, by nature I say, the grace has been on me to intercede. About five or six years ago. He, you know, just really put it on me. Years ago. He, you know, just really put it on me. There was an unction and a burden on me to pray at night and to come on live, because the Lord began to actually let me know that at midnight not only do miracles happen, but there are people that are up because the darkest hours just before day and there are people that are up that are battling, that are in fight, that are in warfare. And he said I want you to come on praise God and I want you to come on live to help those, push through those that are in warfare. And so we birthed out Prayer on the Night shift.
Speaker 1:Well, it's an awesome time. I really enjoy it when I come on at nighttime. You've been in ministry for some years. How long have you been in ministry and when did you give your life to the Lord? Tell us a little bit about your background. We want to know a little more about Lady Ebony Williams.
Speaker 2:Yes, sir. Well, I actually put on my bio that I was at the age of 19, which I was. But as I began to reflect back at the age of I want to say 10, 12, because my grandmother always kept me in church. I gave my life to the Lord, always kept me in church, I gave my life to the Lord. But at the age of 19, I actually rededicated my life and was filled with the spirit of the Holy Ghost at the age of 19. It went on from there, so from age 19 to when I became 21,.
Speaker 2:I, you know, remained steadfast but I moved to Valdosta, Georgia, up under the leadership of my chief apostle, who's my apostle now, Chief Apostle McCowan. I've been up under her, Lord God, about 30-some odd years and she, through that time I went from being a minister. A couple of years later, after that, I went to being a licensed and ordained evangelist, where she trained a street ministry, gosh outreach, all to work intercession. And then from then I believe it was in the late 2000, well, 2000,. I believe I have nine on there I became a licensed and ordained co-pastor for Shards of Blessing, who's now TCI in the state of Orlando, Florida.
Speaker 1:That's awesome. That's awesome. Well, do something. Tell me about your ministry. Tell me about your personal ministry. What is the grace that God has on you? What is your target? What people do you feel like you're called to minister? To Tell me about your ministry people.
Speaker 2:Do you feel like you're called to minister, to Tell me about your ministry? Well, bishop, I believe that there is a grace, number one I like to tell. I tell people before he made me a preacher, before he made me to move in a prophetic office, he made me an intercessor, and so, without all of those, I believe that there was a powerful grace. That's on my life to be an intercessor, to pray, to intercede. God used me to intercept and to teach people how to pray and break through and how to never give up.
Speaker 2:I also believe that, through the trials and tribulation that God has allowed me to walk through, he has put a grace of how can I say perseverance in my life. Oftentimes you may hear me say to people as anointed, come upon me. You know it's time to push. I feel a pushing in God. I feel it in my belly, where God allowed me to help people push out of the place of being stuck, of being restricted. You know, feel like they are bound. Glory to God, and so that is my target. My target is to help people persevere beyond their place of obscurity.
Speaker 1:Now you used a word that I, like you, said to help them break through, because a lot of times when people pray, they're praying but they lack expectation, and they'll pray to a certain place but they won't pray until they break through. Could you elaborate on that with me a little more, about breaking through in prayer?
Speaker 2:Yes, sir, breaking through. Breaking through simply means that keep praying or you you push to the point where you see the results manifest, right. So anything that we are praying for you can be at warfare and there is something, a demonic entity, that is restricting you from getting you know to where God wants you to be. Listen, you could be experiencing some type of warfare, but anytime that you break through, you pray until you see. Breaking through means to see the manifestation of God's plan, purpose and will for your life.
Speaker 1:You know, years ago when I was training some intercessors, the first stages when I was training intercessors years ago, there's a book by Mother EJ Daphne and it's called what it Means to Pray Through, and she was a woman of God that God raised up in the 1940s and she was talking about a lot of the events. What she did is she consecrated herself before the Lord for three years, 72 hours a week, and she just brought intercessions together. Oh, my gracious, god birthed out a powerful move of God in their ministry I think it was called the Garden of Prayer Ministries up in New Jersey, but it was a powerful move of God, but it happened as a result of prayer. She talked about something. She talked about demons being cast out. We live in a time now where people don't believe in deliverance, but I want you to know deliverance is real. Can you talk to me a little bit about deliverance ministry? The woman of God.
Speaker 2:I am very familiar with deliverance. You cannot be reeled up in the church that I was reeled up and not experience deliverance, because actually the name of my headquarters church is called Universal Deliverance, and that was pretty much our stamp. Deliverance simply means, in layman's terms, to be set free or to be loosed or released from any type of bondage that the enemy has you with, and so, with deliverance, I just truly believe that Jesus came to set us free, right, and he has told us that he has given us power over all the power of the enemy, and so deliverance is available to us. A lot of times people feel as though, as you know, I'm too bad or I'm too deep in it and I cannot be set free, but I want you to know that deliverance is for the people of God.
Speaker 1:It absolutely is. You know, I was raised. I was raised around my great grandmother. I was blessed to be raised around my great grandmother. She was a praying, powerful woman of God.
Speaker 1:Now I wasn't interested in prayer. I wasn't interested in prayer. I wasn't interested in the church. I wasn't interested in being saved. I wasn't interested in any. I didn't want any parts of it at all. But I loved my Nana. I just love my Nana.
Speaker 1:My Nana would sit down and talk to me when I was six months. She said she grabbed me and looked at me and she said we don't have any preachers in our family. She said this is going to be the first preacher. She would sit down and talk to me about the things of Christ, but people would come to her home because at this point she was unable to walk. So people would come to our home because she had done ministry in Baltimore, Maryland, for so many years and I would watch her pray for people. I would watch demons get cast out. I would watch her pray and see the sick heal.
Speaker 1:I grew up in an environment where I saw the miracles of God. I grew up in an environment that I was at a church that they would pray for people, and people would get healed, and they would take their walker and their wheelchair and hang it on the wall of the church. My point is you can never forget something that you've experienced firsthand. With that being the case I'm saying all that because I'm trying to set up something I want to ask you a question what is the greatest demonstration of the Holy Spirit that you've ever seen?
Speaker 2:Wow, there were quite a few, but I can say one of the greatest is when I was newly saved and I was in the church and one night we was having Bible study, and so before Bible study there were a couple of the members leading devotion and all of a sudden, this spirit, demonic spirits, manifested itself in an individual.
Speaker 2:And so the person I had never, ever, bishop, seen that before, and I was sitting on the front row and, of course, because me not knowing anything about that, I was startled.
Speaker 2:But the individual starts slithering like a snake on the floor and so, as I look, one of the prophetess that was in church she got up, prophetess Coley, that's still in the ministry today. She got up and she just stood there and then, by the unction of the Holy Ghost, she began to just speak to that spirit. And as she spoke to that spirit, the spirit froze, and you know, I know it was by the unction of the Holy Ghost. The spirit froze and then she laid hands and began to cast the devil out of that individual. And to me, when I tell you that individual, his whole countenance, like I mean, it, was lightened up, it lit up over to God and this person he began to I mean, his whole being seemed like it changed. And so you see the deliverance and the manifestation of God's power on this young man, and to me that was one of the beginning of one of the greatest movements that I've ever seen. A man of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker 1:Absolutely. I'm going to tell you something. I've seen experiences like that. I remember one time we were in a deliverance session and we were praying for a gentleman and as we were praying for him, that when the manifestation happened, it was like his body was raising up off the floor and as we prayed for him and we were casting those demons out, you know and and and people. They don't believe that because they haven't seen that. And I'm going to tell you something the devil likes the fact that we don't believe it. I'm going to show you why Because he likes to hide himself.
Speaker 1:I referenced Mark, the first chapter, a whole lot. When that demon was in the synagogue and Jesus encountered that demon, that demon, he expressed the sentiment of the kingdom of darkness. He said let us alone, just leave us alone, don't pay us no attention. And if you don't pay us no attention, we can wreak havoc in everything that's going on. You know, demons are real. They're real and people don't realize that. And people think that deliverance ministry is just for people that are unsafe, but deliverance ministry is for the saints. Am I right?
Speaker 2:I do agree 1000% there for the saints as well.
Speaker 1:Talk to me a little bit about it, Lady Williams.
Speaker 2:Well, I believe the greatest deception is that people that are saved, you know, who have accepted Christ, feel as though as they don't need deliverance. But I do believe, because deliverance is the children's bread, you know, according to the word of God and a lot of times, because we are constantly in a warfare, even though you have confessed Christ, I believe that a child of God can be oppressed with demonic spirits. Glory to God Oppressed with mind, battles and stuff Not necessarily mean that the spirit is in them, but they need, you know, deliverance from that, because I have experienced years back being oppressed, spirits of heaviness, you know, feeling some type of way, and I know that that was not my true character and I have all these feelings that I know were demonic. But what I had to realize is that I had to allow the spirit of deliverance, allow the Holy Spirit, to deliver me and to release that up off of me. So, yes, I believe that deliverance is for the people of God.
Speaker 1:And see the thing about it. Sometimes there's a play on words. People worry about whether you say possess, obsess, harass. Listen, I've been saved and I needed deliverance and there was a demon in there so whatever term you want to use.
Speaker 1:I needed deliverance on that thing See 1 Thessalonians, 5 and 23. May the God of peace sanctify you. Holy Spirit, soul and body. When we get saved, our spirit is the part that gets regenerated. Well, the Bible said that our spirit. It lets us know we're sealed until the day of redemption, but our mind is not saved. Our mind has to go through the sanctification process and many times that's the area that the enemy accesses. He accesses our mind and a lot of the power of suggestive thoughts. Listen, if a person is saved and they love the Lord and there's a thought telling them to kill their self, that thought is in their mind and they need deliverance, even whether they're speaking in tongues or not. Help me out, lady Ebony Williams. Help me out.
Speaker 2:I truly believe that.
Speaker 2:I've seen it time and time again over the years, but that is so, absolutely true.
Speaker 2:What the enemy does, first he comes against, he tries to target your mind because he knows, like you just said, if he targets the mind, it will soon get in the heart and you will fulfill those things that that is plaguing you and so oftentimes.
Speaker 2:This is why our minds have to be renewed, you know, on a daily base, because here is the offset of that, because if it is not, let's just say the enemy, early on in life, when I was beginning in ministry and just beginning to be a believer, I did not know quite how to throw off, if you will, to reject those thoughts that would come to my mind. And so, like you said previously, the enemy likes to come and hide. Although I was praying, although I was reading the word, although you know I was going to church and doing everything that I thought I need to do, because sometimes we are not watchful, or we watch this, entertain thoughts of the mind, because we don't reject that offer, we don't take the word of God and consecrate, you know, to try to reject those things in our mind. If we don't, it will stay in our mind and we will act upon it, and so thus we will become sometimes possessed and have to be delivered.
Speaker 1:Absolutely. Let me ask you something what do you think the, what do you feel like the body of Christ is now regarding spiritual warfare? Where do you think we are as a body regarding spiritual warfare?
Speaker 2:Bishop as a body.
Speaker 2:What I truly believe is because we are living in the last days, I believe that the body of Christ is really in the heat of the battle. I believe the body of Christ is in the heat of the battle because we're living in the last days and the enemy knows that, because he has a short time, he knows that time is not long. Um, we can just see it. Um, and you know the things that's going on, because, according to the word of god and, uh, the book of luke, he began to let us know. When you see, of course, earthquake and and mothers against daughters and vice versa, when you see these things occur, look up, because you're a redeemer of joy now. And so, because the enemy knows, no man knows the hour, no the time when the Son of man shall appear, but what the enemy do know is that his time ain't long. He has heightened the spiritual battle against the believers, against the saints, because why? He don't want us to inherit the eternity of heaven, he don't want us to get the full benefits of God.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes. Well, I'm hearing a little secret, and the secret that I'm hearing is that there's a book let's get ready to be released, and I'm excited about this book that's getting ready to be released, and I'm excited about this book that's getting ready to be released. I'm going to get me a copy of this book, but can you tell me a little bit about this book that's getting ready to be released?
Speaker 2:Absolutely, bishop. That is something that I'm pretty excited about. It is a book that actually has been birthed, actually began to birth in me several I honestly say over 10 years ago. But I, to be honest, you know you get slow for it. You pick it up and you put it down.
Speaker 1:Yeah, absolutely, I understand, I certainly do.
Speaker 2:Yes, sir. So with that, this book that God has birthed in my spirit is actually called. So you Want to Be a First Lady? Question mark, exclamation mark and the reason why I entitled that. And let me just say that the book is just not only geared to women, it's geared to men as well. But God has really he birthed this in my spirit because I have over 26 years of expertise of when I was married, so I do one thing about it.
Speaker 2:You can't take away the experience that a person has walked through. And so I found out, yes, sir, and what I found out in the body of Christ over my years of assistant pastoring and just being in the body of Christ and just in leadership, I found out that a lot of women, they want to be married, but they are ill-prepared, they have no idea, because, of course, if you've never been married right, you don't know what to expect. You can only read about it. But the Lord actually allowed me to put some of my experience in there, especially if you are marrying a man that is in position, that a man of God that is in position and he's in, you know, before the people's eye.
Speaker 2:This book is not only geared to ladies, it's not only geared to first ladies, but it's geared to women in general that's aspiring to be a wife, and it gives a lot of my experiences. You know trial and error, because I believe there are two ways. You know that you can learn One in a way that you've been successful at a thing, and then one was you have, perhaps you've missed the market. You've learned from your errors. And so God has graced me to really birth this book out, and I believe it's going to be a blessing to the body of Christ as well as men.
Speaker 1:You know also, I believe it as well. And one of the things a lot of times people see people standing in front of the people and standing behind the pulpit and they think that there's a certain glamour that comes along with that, but what they don't realize is the sacrifice that goes behind it. It's not just a small sacrifice, it's a life of sacrifice. Am I right?
Speaker 2:I totally agree.
Speaker 1:Help me out with that.
Speaker 2:It is a life of sacrifice. Most importantly, I believe that when you become one, or when you are chosen because I believe it takes, it definitely takes a grace. Sometimes you go in knowing a little bit of information, but a lot of times you are made on the job and it is a lifetime of sacrifice. One thing that I will say with that you got to not only love your mate. You have to and it goes both ways, but here particularly women. When you're called to a man, when God has really called you to walk with a powerful man of God, it is a life of sacrifice, but one that you can be successful with. But you both must be on the same page. And so, with the life of sacrifice, you're not only supposed to love, you can't just love that individual, that man of God, but you got to love what he is called to. You got to love what he's called to, and it takes a lot of selflessness. Glory to God, amen.
Speaker 1:I like that word selflessness. My wife and I we've been married for 35 years and I think about that sometimes because she married me as a young preacher and she married me as a young preacher and she had to make a lot of sacrifices. She was a young lady in her early twenties and she married me and I was living the life of a young preacher and when, when young girls were wanting to just have this and do that and have fun, they were young girls she was married to me. So I was running revivals and being at church and doing all this stuff. And now we're getting to the years.
Speaker 1:I appreciate her. She's not just my wife. We're getting to the years. I appreciate her. She's not just my wife, she's my best friend. I love that and I say that a lot because you know we try to hold the marriages together. But if we can understand it, if our spouse would be our best friend, because you're going to need that in ministry, because when you come home, your home should be your place of refuge, and that's that's. That's something that's many times has been missing. We teach people how to preach and pray and prophesy, but the infrastructure behind the scene has to be in place. Am I right, absolutely?
Speaker 2:I believe that 100%, because when the lights have gone off, when the church members have gone home, and it's just you and your wife and your family. But even after the kids are gone, it's just you and your wife. And so I have a thing that I've always said I don't want to just love my mate, but I want to like my mate, because if there is a cohesion if you said, said the key thing if you have a best friend or you know, I may not like you every day, but I, at the end of the day, I love you. And because I love you, my love for you constrains me to do what's right. It constrains me even if we have a disagreement. Listen, I still love you because I still love you. It demands that I stay in my position. It demands that I still pray for you. It demands that I still love you because, at the end of the day, you're my best friend.
Speaker 1:Absolutely, absolutely. And you know, as I'm getting older now and I'm realizing I'm getting older, and as I'm getting older now, I look back on these years and I'm appreciate my, my, my two sons. They've grown and in their thirties I've got a daughter and she's still in her teenage years, but my two sons in their thirties, moving into the mid thirties, and, and, and I'm realizing now that all of the other things are wonderful as far as ministry, but I like what you said. When it's said and done, it boils down to you too. Yes, the Bible says let a man leave his mother and leave his father, leave and let the two become one, and not just become one in church with the microphone in their hand, but they become one in every area of their lives.
Speaker 1:I'm looking forward to this book. I'm going to get me a copy. I want a signed copy. You see how, when you got my book, I came and signed the copy. I want a copy to sign directly from you, and I want you to sign a copy and I want you to be a blessing. Listen, this is what I'm going to do. I'm going to release you for a moment and I want you just to share with the people, what you feel is on your heart, that the Lord is speaking to the body of Christ. I just want to release you, just to speak into the lives of these people on today, and then I want to allow you to close out with a prayer and I'll be right back. Is that all right?
Speaker 2:Yes, sir, that would be perfect. Thank you so much. What's been actually on my heart, as far as the body of Christ, is that we have to. The Bible says that we are destroyed from the lack of knowledge and the know-how of how to fight against warfare, how to remain persistent, how to be resilient in the midst of their warfare, and so I just simply want to encourage the body of Christ to listen. Number one, to really really get into your word. Begin to find out what is Jesus saying about spiritual warfare. Listen in Ephesians 6 and 10, he began to let us know that, when it's all said and done, listen finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, in the Lord and in the power of his might, and I want the body of Christ to really grasp the fact that you cannot do this in your own strength. Listen, number two I want them to realize that there is more for you than it is against you, irregardless of the battles, of the situations that you may encounter. You may be saying today look, I am in the fight of my life. I don't even know what's going to be on. Tomorrow Seems like the enemy is fighting me on every hand, but I come to encourage you that you are not alone. Listen, there is more that is for you. God has a host of protecting his angel, the blood of Jesus. That is for you and that is protecting you. Glory to God. And number three, I do want to also put in this do not and Bishop said this on the morning prayer that oftentimes when we begin because I used to be like this, can I be transparent? Oftentimes we will get in a secluded place or we will isolate. Praise God, or we will get from around the saints when we begin to go through things. But I had to learn that there were some battles. There are some battles that you cannot fight alone. There may be a time where you can't even utter a word because you are in a great distress, but that is when that you should call on your leadership. Praise God. That is a time where you need reinforcement, those that are praying for you and praying for real. Glory to God that even when you can't pray, even when you are in a low place Amen, there is someone there Praise God, whether it be your leader, the mother, the elders of the church or someone, a prayer partner that you know can get a prayer through.
Speaker 2:Listen, when the enemy begins to isolate, have you to isolate, he can go in for the kill. We use the terminology divide and conquer, and so I want to encourage you praise God, because one can chase a thousand, but it's two that put 10,000 to a flight. And listen, if we could ever grab unity, being unified in the spirit, being unified in covenant relationships, people that pray, people that can break through and pray through Glory to God, we will not experience casualties. Now I just want to pray, Father, god, in the name of Jesus, god, as I am praying this morning, father, we just want to thank you, god, this morning, this afternoon. Thank you for being omnipotent, thank you for being omnipresent, father, even now, father, we thank you, lord, for you are the beginning and the end.
Speaker 2:God, god, I thankresent Father. Even now, father, we thank you, lord, for you are the beginning and the end. God, god, I thank you, father, for you have given us power over all, the power of the enemy and God. As we begin to pray before you, god, father, I pray for those individuals, god, that are experiencing spiritual warfare today. God, I pray, glory to God, that you would continue to put a hedge around them. God will open up their eyes, that they can see that there is more for them than there is against them. Father, begin to give them the fortitude and the tenacity, oh God hallelujah, to break through and to press through. God, father, I decree and I declare resilience, perseverance, god Hallelujah, let them add the pressure, let them fight and let them push until they break through. Let them push until they see what you have said, and God we give you the praise, and God we give you the glory in Jesus' name.
Speaker 1:Amen, amen, amen. Thank you for that powerful prayer, thank you for that powerful word and thank you for being with us on tonight. Listen, if I want to know more about Lady Ebony Williams ministry, what do I need to do?
