We explore how a hyperbaric oxygen chamber became both a recovery tool and a quiet room for deep thinking and writing. A tough injury, a lifetime of training, and faith in timing connect into a framework for turning setbacks into direction.

• why the hyperbaric “healing pod” supports physical recovery and calm focus
• how screen-free solitude unlocks clearer thinking and better journaling
• using simple prompts to spark insight and momentum
• reframing failure as data and opportunity
• connecting past training and work to faster rehab decisions
• mapping your timeline to spot the sequence in your story
• practical steps to slow down, listen, and write

The Farmer's Greatest Asset Podcast. We believe the Farm's Greatest Asset is the Farmer. Their knowledge, experience, mind, and health. Welcome to the podcast. I'm Jesse. And I am Flying Solo. Leah is at a retreat this week, so I guess you guys get me all to yourself. So welcome. Thanks for listening. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening from whenever and wherever you're listening. We truly do appreciate you listening. So recently we did talk about the hyperbaric oxygen chamber that we have, and we like to call it the healing pod or the pod. And it has been an amazing thing just for my physical recovery. And we've actually had some actually a lot of interest, had some people call and ask about it. We've actually had somebody come and use it. Um, that we have been more than happy to let them come and use it because that's just kind of in Leah and I that we just truly would like to help people. And they were good friends of ours. We were willing to just let them come and use it whenever, um, because we truly do feel like it would help him. So, and then somebody else called and we kind of talked a little bit about it, and there are some amazing health benefits to it, and just recovery and healing and actual good modalities that happen because of the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, and the, like I say, the forcing oxygen into your blood system because that's just good oxygen, is good healing. When you can oxygenate, things happen, things will heal better, heal faster. That hyperbaric chamber has been used to treat many different amazing things, but it's twofold for me, and that was one of my major points when somebody called the other day. We kind of talked a little bit about the chamber because they're interested in maybe getting their own. And the other side of it for me is that you're in there alone for an hour and a half minimum, because it takes 10 minutes for it to come up to pressure, and then you're in there for about an hour, and then it's another 10 minutes-ish for it to come down from pressure. So it's an hour and 20 minutes that you're in this thing, and it's just a pod, you're zipped in there, and you're in there by yourself, and it's not like you can just open the door and jump out because of the pressure. You've got to let the pressure come down slowly. So you're not supposed to take electronics in there. No, I've been guilty to do that, but when you don't, it's just taking all the distractions away. The other side of to the to the pod for me is the being in there alone and quieting your mind and just being able to think in there and maybe even falling asleep sometimes or reading. A lot of times I take the journal in there and I write. Some pretty amazing things can come out of at least my pen when I'm in there by myself, have just my thoughts to myself. I can hear the universe or God or the higher power, whatever it is, I could hear that speaking to me, and it just kind of comes out of my pen, and I'm writing in my journal. That whole thing of being quiet with myself and just being able to think and write in there is so powerful. I wrote the entire book in the pod. So the actual workbook that we have out there available is actually a condensed version of what I completely wrote in the pod. And we kind of condensed it down to that because that's what we feel is the most important stuff for the workbook. But some really amazing things kind of come come to me when I'm in there writing. If you could just quiet your mind, think, and maybe you won't write anything, but something will come to you, and you just kind of write on it. You might feel a little silly that you're writing on something, but some pretty amazing things come to you. Everything happens for a reason. God's timing is perfect, and you hear exactly what you need to hear when you need to hear it, and that's kind of what happens to me when I'm in there writing. Take some time to yourself to sit down in a quiet spot where nobody's gonna bother you and think. Take a book. I actually have this particular book, it's about raise your vibration. There's the vibe of the day, so it gives me something to to reflect on or to think about or to write on, and that uh sparks a lot of things. But if if I don't have the book, I'm I just try to sit down in there and I quiet my mind, and all of a sudden something will come to me, and I start writing, and some pretty amazing things do come to me. I'll just read you just a little bit of what I wrote one day sitting in our pod. You were born on purpose. You can live with a purpose. Your soul has a purpose, and saying that you were born on purpose makes so much sense. Whether you believe in God or a higher power, you are brought here born on purpose. Trust that timing is perfect and there is no such thing as failure. Failure is just someone's opinion that it did not go as planned. It is an opportunity to grow and learn from that failure. Don't call it a failure. Call it what it is. It is an opportunity. And I'll truly tell you, I don't even know what kind of made that come come to me, but that is what I wrote that day. And here I will continue. Everything happens for a reason. Everything, including me getting hurt in the livestock trailer in July of 2023. During that time I knew what I was facing. I knew exactly what I was facing because I went to school for athletic training and was going to be an orthopedic surgeon. Worked with an orthopedic surgeon, worked for Zimmer, an orthopedic implant company. I was a guy to go into surgery and hope total total joint replacement surgeries. I am here and I am needing a hip replacement. I knew what I was up against. I knew the injury, I knew the surgery, I knew exactly what I would have to do to get better. I was doing quad sets, laying in the hospital bed in traction, knowing I would have to keep my strength and muscle mass up. I was also a competitive weightlifter in high school. I worked out like I was training for competition all through college. All of that got to me be as strong as I was. Because I was so strong, I was not killed in that trailer, and God has a plan for me. By the grace of God, I am here to help. We all have our story, and everything happens for us. We just have to see it and know it and be thankful for it. We can breeze through life and not realize what is happening for us, but know that it is happening for us for a reason. You have to piece it all together. You will start to realize that things happen for you for a reason. Things really do just happen exactly how they're supposed to play out. And you may not want to believe it, you may not want to see it, but it's true. Things just happen the way they're supposed to happen. They really do. You'll hear exactly what you need to hear. You'll see it exactly when you need to see it. I am urging you to just grab a notebook and sit down and just go back and think of your timeline. Figure out how things are happening for you. Because when I got hurt, I could have easily thought, why is this happening to me? Matter of fact, Leah would tell me all the time, this is happening for us, not to us. And I could have really got down on myself, and not to say that I didn't, but I knew exactly what I needed to do. I knew exactly what I was gonna have to go through. I knew exactly what to do because of everything that I had been trained to do, everything that I had gone through. All of those things happened for me in exactly the right sequence that they did. I was a personal trainer, so I knew all of the exercises. I was a competitive weightlifter, I was so strong. I was an athletic trainer, so I knew the rehab. I worked for an orthopedic surgeon, was planning on going to medical school to be an orthopedic surgeon, so I knew the surgery. I worked for an orthopedic implant company, I knew the surgery, like the back of my hand. I knew exactly what I was gonna have to do. All because of those things that actually happened to me. It is it's crazy when you think about it, but it's everything actually really just happens exactly how it's supposed to happen. And at the time you're not gonna like it. You're gonna ask why is this happening? But you just have to know that God's time is perfect and God's timing is slow and it's not gonna happen overnight. You have to slow down and listen and see and know that it'll all be okay. And whatever you're doing. And it may not even be a serious injury, it could be something else you're going through. If you sit down and you just kinda write out your timeline, you'll see, you'll see them the path that it has taken you. It took you exactly to where you're supposed to be. But those things come to me when I'm I'm quiet and I can can write. Writing things down is four times more effective, four times more powerful, and they really do hit home when they're written down. As always, thanks for listening. We really do appreciate you guys listening and sending us notes, calling us emails. So please check us out.
