Macomb Flight Path
Craig Williams, with Journey12.com, will be the host for your very own Macomb Schools Podcast, titled, “Flight Path” Each month and from time to time, we sit down with key players and game-changers from within the Macomb School Community and talk about the things that matter to all of us, but especially to the outcomes of our kids. Macomb is a remarkable community and, as we’ve spoken to so many already for the Flight Path magazine, one thing becomes eminently clear, you have each other’s back. And everyone in this community seems to be a part of that. And just as you’re a part of this school community, we also want to invite you to be a part of this Podcast, so, if you’ve got an idea or suggestion, let’s talk. Reach out to us at Info@journey12.com. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversations as we move forward, and look forward to hearing from you. Please remember to subscribe so you won’t miss a single episode!

Macomb Roots, Community Wings: Jill Beck’s Story of Service

Today I’m talking with Jill Beck, a woman whose fingerprints are all over the good work being done in Macomb. From her years directing United Way of McDonough County to her leadership of the Macomb Athletic Boosters, Jill has built a career—and a reputation—on the idea that when a community raises its hand, things happen.
She’s proof that you don’t have to sit on the sidelines when there’s work to be done. Whether she’s organizing volunteers for 522 hours of concession shifts, rallying parents to fund a new weight room, or reminding young athletes that hard work and generosity are connected virtues, Jill’s story is one of perseverance, partnership, and the quiet courage to speak up.
In our conversation, she reflects on the richness Western Illinois University brings to the area, the small-town strength that never fades, and what it means to model leadership for the next generation.
