Power, Love, and Self-Discipline: God's Gifts to Overcome Fear
We explore how God replaces fear and timidity with power, love, and self-discipline through prayer and declaration based on 2 Timothy 1:7. This mindweek prayer session offers spiritual renewal by confronting the paralyzing effects of fear while embracing divine boldness.
• God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but power, love and self-discipline
• Fear tries to back God's people into corners and silence their voices
• Fear prevents us from following God's direction and activating His promises
• We must bind the spirit of fear and cast it into dry places
• Replace fear with holy boldness and obedience to God's calling
• God cares for us more than we care for ourselves
• God can intervene in any situation regardless of how impossible it seems
• Even in grief and depression, God provides peace and restoration
• We should continually seek more of God's presence in our lives
Join us tonight for evening prayer as we continue seeking God's presence together.

Good morning, welcome to morning prayer, thanking the Lord for getting us to this point in the week. We are about midweek now and God has brought us this far. We are so grateful. Our scripture today is 2 Timothy, the first verse, I'm sorry, 2 Timothy, the first chapter in the seventh verse. It reads for God has not given us the spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline. Living translation. So 2 Timothy, the first chapter in the seventh verse, for God has not given us the spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline. The declaration for today, what we declare today as we go through the day, the day, god has not given me a spirit of fear or shyness. Instead, I have power, love and self-discipline. Amen, and I'll go through that again at the end of prayer, but we're going to take this scripture before the Lord.
Speaker 1:Father, your name is exalted. Father, your name is exalted. Father, your name is respected. Father, we thank you. Hallelujah, you have all power, you have all might. Hallelujah, you're a God that never fails. Hallelujah, you are God, you are sovereign. You are sovereign, you are sovereign. Hallelujah, the earth is yours. Hallelujah, the fullness thereof it is yours.
Speaker 1:God, we bless your name, hallelujah, we honor you. Hallelujah, we honor you, jesus. Hallelujah, be lifted, god. Be lifted in our praise. God Be lifted. Hallelujah, be lifted in our worship. Hallelujah, be lifted, god.
Speaker 1:We give you praise today, god, because you're worthy. We rose this morning giving you praise. We raise up this morning giving you praise, god, hallelujah, we lift our head off of our pillows and we give you praise, god. God, you are worthy of it, you're deserving of it. You're deserving of every thank you. You are deserving of every hallelujah, lord, they belong to you, lord, the glory, hallelujah, it belongs to you, god, lord, we give it to you today, hallelujah, because you deserve it, god, hallelujah, god, we come before you thanking you. We come before you praising you. We come before you honoring you, lord, and we're asking, father, that you'll touch us. God, oh God, touch us from the inside out, father, lord, we're asking that you to touch our hearts, lord. Give our hearts, lord, to be clean.
Speaker 1:Lord, in the name of Jesus, lord, create a clean heart in us, the new right spirit within us. God, oh God, give our spirit to be right. Give us to do things with the right spirit. Give us to do things with the right spirit. Give us to do things with the right spirit. Father, in the name of Jesus, lord, give us to do things with the mind of glorifying you, Lord, give us to do things with the right intention, the intention being pleasing you.
Speaker 1:Father, in the name of Jesus, oh Lord, I thank you for realigning us. Father, if we've gotten off in any way, if we've gone off in any way or form or shape, god, lord, I thank you for realigning us this morning in the name of Jesus, lord, hallelujah, holy Spirit, even, show it to us today, in the name of Jesus, Lord, that we may fall on our knees and repent, god, that we may ask for your forgiveness, lord, and it might not be counted against us. Father, in the name of Jesus, lord, we thank you. We thank you, lord, because your blood, hallelujah, it makes us white as snow. We thank you, lord, that your blood cleans us, god. It cleans us from the past, it cleans us from our mistakes, it cleans us from our sins. God, I thank you for your blood, oh God, even this week. Lord, as we are so mindful, god, of your suffering, as we are so mindful, lord, of all that you have done for us to attain salvation, we thank you for your blood, oh God, every drop of blood that you gave for us. God, we thank you for it, lord, we thank you for it. Kind Father, oh God, I'm asking today, lord, that you'll touch us. So, lord, god, give us to not be fearful, give us to not be afraid.
Speaker 1:Lord, in the name of Jesus, oh God, hallelujah, the spirit of fear, oh, it tries to back your people into a corner. It tries, hallelujah, to silence the voice of your people. It tries, hallelujah, to keep us in a place where we don't do what you're telling us to do, what you're asking us to do. Oh God, the ideas that you've given to us, lord, fear tells us that we can't do it. Oh God, I pray today, lord, that you'll break the chain of fear In the name of Jesus. Destroy the yoke, destroy the yoke of fear In the name of Jesus, sabash yoke. Destroy the yoke of fear In the name of Jesus.
Speaker 1:Oh God, bind fear in the name of Jesus. Oh God, bind fear in the name of Jesus. Oh Lord, shame that rests upon us, feeling of not being able to do what it is you're calling us to do, feeling insignificant. Oh God, bind that today in the name of Jesus. Oh God, work something new in your people, lord. Work something new. Give us holy boldness, god. Give us holy boldness, oh Lord, even where we don't believe in ourselves. God, help us to believe in you. Oh God, help us to believe in you in such a way that we realize that you won't let us fall, that we realize that you will be before us, god, and that you will cover us as we're doing your will.
Speaker 1:In the name of Jesus, oh God, bind that spirit, lord, that causes us to be disobedient. God, bind that spirit, lord, that causes us to drag our feet and procrastinate. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, bind that spirit of fear that causes us to worry, that causes us to be frightful and afraid of different things that are happening, especially when we feel like we cannot control it. God, oh God, even when we can't control it, we understand, god, that you are in control.
Speaker 1:Oh shabbasah, yelabasoh and God, if you are in control, we know that everything will work as it should. Everything will work as it should, for we know that all things work for the good of them that love the Lord and who are called according to his purpose. Oh God, we put trust in you today, lord. We put trust in you today. We put trust in you. Today, oh God, we let our faith go out. God, in the name of Jesus, oh God, we pray that our faith touches you today. We pray that our faith Begins to activate the word of God in our lives.
Speaker 1:Lord, oh God, you've given us many promises, god, many promises, god, but many of those things are covenant and we have something to do in order for that to be activated in our lives. Oh God, and fear is that spirit that keeps us from doing that thing, from activating the promise of God in our lives. Oh God, I thank you, lord, I thank you for obedience, Lord, as never before. Oh God, obedience, lord, hallelujah, without being afraid of the repercussions. Obedience, without being afraid of the faces of the people, oh God, you told Jeremiah to not be afraid of the faces of the people. Oh God, that you would be with him. And God, you are not a partial God, you are not a God that is just one way to one person. But, god, if you were with Jeremiah, god, you will be with us when you tell us what to do. God, oh God, as you were with Joshua, lord, you will be with us. Oh God, you told him to be strong and courageous. Oh God, I thank you that there is no assignment, no task that you have given us. That is too big, god, hallelujah, that is too much Father. But God, if you give it to us to do, lord, oh God, you'll take us through it. Lord, oh God, you'll give us victory in it. Oh God, you'll give us success in it. Lord, god, I thank you today.
Speaker 1:I thank you for binding the spirit of fear. I thank you for quieting its voice. In the name of Jesus, hallelujah, we cancel the assignment of fear over our lives. In the name of Jesus, we bind the devil now. We bind the devil now. We cast the devil out of our minds. In the name of Jesus, we cast the devil out of our minds. Oh, I don't care how many years fear has been in control. We bind you today and we cast you into dry places.
Speaker 1:In the name of Jesus, holy Spirit, come now and fill every space. Fill every space with holy boldness, fill every space with obedience and faith in God. Fill every space with the exploits of what our God is able to do. In the name of Jesus, oh God, touch your people. God to be effective in a time, god, where people need to hear what thus saith the Lord. Lord, in a time where people need to hear our testimonies, in a time where there is hopelessness and despair, in a time where people are worried, oh God, give your people to stand up. Oh God, give your people, god, hallelujah, come in and let people know who you are and what you're all about, and how you are a life changer and how you are a peace giver and how you are a healer and how you are a deliverer. God, give us to, hallelujah, fill the gap.
Speaker 1:Lord, in the name of Jesus, lord, I pray, god, I pray, Lord that you'll touch Father, oh God, we pray. We pray God for the situations at hand. Lord, oh God, you told us to not worry about anything, god, but God, you told us to pray about everything. Lord and God, we're praying. Lord, we're praying for the situations that perplex us. Oh God, we're praying, lord, for our economy. God, we're praying God, oh God, that you'll turn things around. In the name of Jesus, god, we're praying for our leaders, lord, oh God, that you'll give them wisdom. Oh God that you'll touch their hearts. God, that you'll touch their minds.
Speaker 1:In the name of Jesus, oh God, you're able, regardless of how contrary they are to the will of God, regardless of how contrary they are to the power of God. Lord, you are able, lord, you're able, to turn every situation around. God, you are able, lord, oh God. I pray today that you'll touch those that have been grieving, father, oh God, those that are in a state of grief God, I understand that there is no expiration for grief, but, god, it stays with people continually. That you'll give those that are struggling through grief, that you'll give them peace, in the name of Jesus. That you'll give them to be able to accept what you have allowed. That you'll give them to be able to continue living, god, oh God, continue living, lord, and to continue doing what you called them to do.
Speaker 1:In the name of Jesus, oh God. I thank you, lord. I thank you, god, because you are a God that lifts up our heads, you are a God that encourages our hearts, lord, you are a God, hallelujah, that cares for us, lord, even more than what we care about ourselves. Father, god, I thank you for touching those, lord, whose hearts are heavy, lord, and lifting the burden, god, in the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you, lord, oh God, for touching those hallelujah that are dealing with depression.
Speaker 1:Those that have been depressed might not even know that they're depressed, but understand that they're low in mood, understand that they are not who they know themselves to be. God, I ask that you'll touch them. I bind depression right now in the name of Jesus and I cast it into dry places. I come against every lie of the enemy. Hallelujah that speaks to the mind of the people of God. I bind them now in the name of Jesus and I cast it into dry places. God, you're able, lord, to give peace to that mind and restore. Restore the joy of their salvation. Oh God, restore the joy of their salvation. In the name of Jesus, oh God, I pray, lord, that you'll touch.
Speaker 1:Oh God, oh God, all around the world, we need you, we need you, lord. We need a strong God. We need the mighty God. Oh, we need you, god, oh God, intervene God, oh Lord. We need you, god, oh God, intervene God, oh Lord. We thank you. We thank you for your word and your gospel being spread even this week. Oh God, we thank you, lord, for those that will come to salvation. We thank you, lord, for how you'll fill, how you'll fill with your Holy Spirit.
Speaker 1:God, oh God. You said that in the last days that you would pour out your Spirit on all flesh, god, and that sons and daughters would prophesy God. I thank you, lord, that your word is still true, that your word is still true, that your word is still true, oh, basha, and you are still able. God, oh God. We thank you for great revival. We thank you for great revival.
Speaker 1:We thank you for turning away from sin and the things that are sinful, and for those hallelujah that are in sin, seeking you, god, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, even those hallelujah that are called by your name, lord, turn up our seeking you, god, give us to want more of you, give us to desire more of you In the name of Jesus. Oh God, what we have is not enough. What we have is not enough. But, god, we need another refill God. We need a refill God, for you to fill us again.
